That's absolutely fucking retarded
He probably thinks lifters do it only for muh shorter rom
Not pulling back your shoulder blades and lifting with your shoulders is a one way road to snap city
Honestly with each and every lift ever if you just focus on bracing your core and pelvic floor the rest of your body will move correctly after understanding the basic mechanics of the lift. Overthinking form above this is a waste of time.
Try it. Your shoulders will hurt, guaranteed
Your shoulder joint is very complex and thus very fragile. In order to not fuck it up, you have to pull it into the strongest and most stable position you can.
That position just happens to be having your lower back arched and your scapulae pulled back, so that your chest dominates the movement
I mean this is the guy that said you shouldn't use barbells at all a few months back, then tore his pec a few weeks later trying to bench press. He has the occasional good advice, but take everything he says with a grain of salt. He has little, if any, interest in strength training and is solely focused on aesthetics and isolation work.
I mean he didnt even say anything of value tbh. Dont squeeze shoulders too much, dont push shoulders up too much.
Hes saying dont arch, dont push your shoulder blades back and down at all
That's absolutely fucking retarded

How do you know?
Not that anon but I bench pressed with a flat back no arch for 2 years and my shoulders would click all the time especially when I was in bed
I know he is. The same shit every single bench video has said forever. That's my point.
>Hes saying dont arch, dont push your shoulder blades back and down at all
>How to destroy your shoulders in two easy steps!
Literally watch the part where he explains why instead of spouting bs
I'm not giving that asiatic views. I'll continue to bench the way that doesn't make my shoulder feel like it's being chainsawed.
>scapulohumeral rhytm
Is irrelevant in the bench press because it allows anterior deltoids to take over.

Exactly this. Correct form is incredibly easy once you understand it's all about core tension.
He reminds me of Mike Chang, so I automatically disregarded his opinion

I dunno. I had shoulder soreness/burning while benching until I started doing the powerlifting arch. Now I barely ever feel benches in my shoulders.
Why would I listen to a dyel chink who benches babby weight lmao
Show pic of your body then
>dyel 1 plate nagger giving bench advice
at least use your brains
>missing the whole point of the video
>implying I watched it
kek

aight, imma see about your mum then lad.

The amount of arch (if any) should be very very minor.
why

Isn't that the fag that said he was never going to do a compound lift again?
