If you're speaking of store bought butter, yes some brands mix in vegetable oils to "make it spreadable" but if you aren't retarded and can read labels or literally take a mason jar and just shake cream for a couple minutes you get straight butter. You have to wash the butter in cold water to remove the milk from it so it doesn't sour and adding salt will make it shelf stable at room temperature.

I'm vegan and I avoid seed oils like the plague. Literally no reason to consume that crap. I get my fat from whole foods. You are always better off eating a natural food like butter than eating a fucking industrial solvent or some goyslop based on it, I just wish butter was made in a more sustainable and ethical way because I cannot support the industry as it currently is.

I also gurantee that in order to compete with the rest of the psycho industry, even decent farmers have to cut corners in how well they take care of their cows sometimes. Either way, they're being treated very well and have plenty of space. I obviously don't have a problem with killing animals for food but I can tell it's a big one for you. All that really matters to me is that the animal is treated well while it's alive.
His milk is more expensive than standard milk but that's just because it's jersey milk. Milk is priced by the cream content and his contains about 6% (standard is 4%).
While the cows are on the farm they get to roam free and just chill. They're also constantly monitored for any health problems as it would result in tainted milk and thus lost profit.
Sounds a lot better than most commercial places, but not up to my ethic standards since I am opposed strongly to the killing of animals for food. I don't accept the "well I treated it nicely BEFORE I murdered it!" defense for the very same reason that I suspect you would not accept it of a human (though I accept that most people do not reason like I do). They should IMO be kept as beloved pets that also happen to provide a tasty treat now and again, but that's a pipe dream. Like I said probably I'll wind up getting my own goat and a few chickens or something.

I think, owing to being from Denmark, we have vastly different agricultural infrastructure. Most if the horrible shit that goes on in America has always been illegal here.
I live in the countryside, surrounded by fields and forest. I get my meat from a local slaughterhouse/butcher. I get my eggs from a small farm and they're garden gnomeed by no one. I get my milk from a medium-sized farm who's garden gnomeed to Arla but Arla is a collectively owned by ~9500 farmers. I know the people running all of these places and I trust the product they put out because of it. My gf and I drive around for a few hours once a week to get groceries from these places. Surrounded by nature the whole time it's really more of a pleasant break from work than a chore.

If you're speaking of store bought butter, yes some brands mix in vegetable oils to "make it spreadable" but if you aren't retarded and can read labels or literally take a mason jar and just shake cream for a couple minutes you get straight butter. You have to wash the butter in cold water to remove the milk from it so it doesn't sour and adding salt will make it shelf stable at room temperature.

I also gurantee that in order to compete with the rest of the psycho industry, even decent farmers have to cut corners in how well they take care of their cows sometimes. Maybe they get a bit of soi to supplement the grass, maybe they live a bit tighter, etc. At the very least, the calf is inevitably seperated from the mother and denied her milk, the cow is forcefully impregnated, and it's killed for food as soon as its milk production starts to decrease. I know some good farmers doing their damned best to take care of the animals, but they are like 1 in a 1000, and their milk costs three times as much minimum. I'd have no problem with milk or butter if we could actually do it in a decent way, doesn't have to be perfect or anything just not like today. Probably at some point I'm just gonna get my own goat or something...
I just wanted some raw jersey milk and he was the closest farmer. My impression is that his is a very average farm.
First off, they all get extra feed in addition to the grass. If they haven't eaten enough they get feed packets (usually grain but can also be human-inedible stuff). I can all but guarantee that his cows get slaughtered when they get too old to produce milk. He just had calves recently and they were immediately separated from their mothers (by a fence, they're still literally right next to each other), but he filters out their colostrum and gives it to the baby cows. They're cute as hell by the way. I assume he's selling them to farms that raise cows for meat, or maybe they're being sold for veal. Either way, they're being treated very well and have plenty of space. I obviously don't have a problem with killing animals for food but I can tell it's a big one for you. All that really matters to me is that the animal is treated well while it's alive.
His milk is more expensive than standard milk but that's just because it's jersey milk. Milk is priced by the cream content and his contains about 6% (standard is 4%).
While the cows are on the farm they get to roam free and just chill. They're also constantly monitored for any health problems as it would result in tainted milk and thus lost profit.
Sounds a lot better than most commercial places, but not up to my ethic standards since I am opposed strongly to the killing of animals for food. I don't accept the "well I treated it nicely BEFORE I murdered it!" defense for the very same reason that I suspect you would not accept it of a human (though I accept that most people do not reason like I do). I live in the countryside, surrounded by fields and forest. I get my meat from a local slaughterhouse/butcher. I get my eggs from a small farm and they're garden gnomeed by no one. I get my milk from a medium-sized farm who's garden gnomeed to Arla but Arla is a collectively owned by ~9500 farmers. I know the people running all of these places and I trust the product they put out because of it. My gf and I drive around for a few hours once a week to get groceries from these places. Surrounded by nature the whole time it's really more of a pleasant break from work than a chore.
