Same experience. Getting good at pushups = 1 plate bench. Calisthenics is a meme.

The first time I tried to bench press I ended up doing 155 for a double. Within a few months I was doing 2pl8. After 7 months I could do 285 for a triple. Then I switched to weighted dips because they felt better. Can currently do dips with 4pl8 added at 230 pounds

Nope. Literally failed reps of 75 lbs and someone came and helped. I said thanks and he just walked away with a "wtf are you serious dude?" look on his face.

    I actually did
I then stalled on 160-170 kg after 7 years of lifting. Only time I benched more was when I ate in such a surplus that I became fat af (120 kg at 185 cm) and benched 182 kg, but being out of breath and not seeing my dick wasn't worth it, rather stay at 93 kg.

I was 13 when I started lifting so my first bench was 65lbs for 8 reps. I did hit a 3 plate at 15 though so anything is possible if you got that DOG in you

Most I got was 75kgs for a few reps with shit form. Now I fucked up my right arm so no more barbell for me at least for a month.

OHP (55kg x5 at most) also fucks me up because I get a sharp pain in one of the muscles that's very close to my right elbow, it just fucks itself after a few sets.

No I was 13 and failed in school gym. Next year my father took me to gym and I benched 1pl8. Got so exited that I benched 2pl8 just before turning to 16.

i was (and still am) DYEL but yes

    >start going to the gym around age 28
    >too afraid to even go down by the machines so do cardio for almost a year while working out with dumbbells at home
    >now age 29
    >only dare use machines and dumbbells at the gym, not go down by the barebells and take up space there
    >age 30
    >finally start with barebells, try bench and do 1pl8
so i had at least 2 years of semi-lifting in me

yes i know this is all pathetic but i'm a high inhib-cel
