I refuse to believe anyone who can squat 4pl8 can't do at least 5 pull-ups/chin-ups

Someone post that video of Hafthor failing to do a single pull-up.

I originally thought that anyone who could do 2/3/4/5 could easily do 10+ pullups, but I couldn't have been more wrong. Turns out most people who hit a 4pl8 squat and similar stats are fat as shit. Unsurprisingly, being a 275lb fatass makes hitting a 4pl8 squat pretty doable, but makes doing a single pullup a nightmare. Don't get me wrong, there are definitely people who are both strong and actually fit, but there are far fewer you likely think

Which is why 1/2/3/4 and 2/3/4/5 as strength standards are incomplete. Bulk up to be a fat 300lb shit and then all of a sudden benching 250 seems easy. Strength standards should be based on body weight predominately

And they are. Which doesn't mean that that fat ass isn't stronger than you. This kind of devaluing sounds like cope. Stop caring about numbers.

Big number lifts are pointless if you're actually morbidly obese bloatlord mode but I seriously don't think many people like that exist. Lifting is still cardio, though not much. It's hard to be unathletic and fat while also lifting routinely.

      CarbEnjoyer

People that size who lift practically don't exist, but you can easily be unathletic and fat while lifting regularly. Pic related. Left was me back in early 2021, when I reached a 3pl8 bench. The right is more recent. I can only bench 250 now.
Sad part is I never stopped lifting. Not sure why I got weaker. I cut over the course of a year.

That takes a lot of energy you could up the clean calorie count but that would be so much maintenance.

        Anonymous

I'm cutting at the moment and I haven't really lost any strength anywhere except my bench. It's gone down slightly. However, everything else has remained practically the same.

I love pullups since I lost weight, I used to never do them as a coping fatty but did 10 sets this week working up to +90lb for 6 as dropsets trying to get as many reps with just BW immediately after the weighted pullups

Even our boy Bloho can do half rep pullups now

    [...]

You will never be a real man. You have no definition, you have no veins, you have no muscles. You are a homosexual man twisted by fat and chalk into a crude mockery of nature’s perfection.
All the “validation” you get is two-faced and half-hearted. Behind your back cardiobunnies mock you. Your parents are disgusted and ashamed of you, your “friends” laugh at your "muscular" appearance behind closed doors.
Women are utterly repulsed by you. Thousands of years of evolution have allowed women to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even lards who “pass” look uncanny and unnatural to a women. Your bodyfat is a dead giveaway. And even if you manage to get a drunk girl home with you, she’ll turn tail and bolt the second he gets a whiff of your mayonnaise-covered, blubby gut.
You will never do a pullup. You wrench out a fake smile every single morning and tell yourself it’s going to be ok, but deep inside you feel the depression creeping up like a weed, ready to crush you under the unbearable weight.
Eventually it’ll be too much to bear - you’ll buy a pull-up bar, try a rep, and the doorframe watches in horror as you destroy it and the floor below. Your parents will find you, heartbroken but relieved that they no longer have to live with the unbearable shame and disappointment. They’ll bury you with a headstone marked with your birth name, and every passerby for the rest of eternity will know a lard is buried there. Your body will not decay and go back to the dust, you have enough fat to feed bacteria for years.
This is your fate. This is what you chose. There is no turning back.
