I don't have any brand loyalty. If a company makes a good product I will wear it. Is there any benefit to workout shoes or is it no better then a flat soul shoe like vans or converse
Shoes with an elevated heel makes squatting deeper easier, also somewhat more quad bias.
Flat soles are for deadlifts and everything else, but you might as well go barefoot. I used to squat in weightlifting shoes, now I use vans. It's just preference, I still use the weightlifting shoes for benching and some other stuff. In any case you want zero cushioning in whatever shoe you're wearing, going barefoot or in socks is totally legit outside of issues with grip.
If you are really trying to optimize you will have different shows for different workouts. Squats (heels/ benefit from different shoes than most other lifts (flat/bare) And distance running requires a different shoe than sprinting or agility work.
If you already have sneakers, running shoes or shoes for whatever sport you might already be doing (baskeball, tennis etc.) there is no reason to buy workout shoes. It's just marketing.
Also those nikes would be really nice if not for the retarded brown patch in the middle.
Just my normal sneakers that I wear until they decay off my feet.
Footwear isn't going to do much to improve your lifts, so wear what is comfy. I like shoes with a really wide toe area for natural splay, since I went barefoot most of my childhood. I live in rural bumfuck nowhere, and there is an old backwoods farmer who comes in to lift sometimes, and he literally just wears jeans. Goes shirtless and barefoot everywhere. Everyone in town knows him and just accepts it as normal. Guy is like 5'9" and 5% body fat. Not huge, but one of the strongest guys I've seen. Hillbilly strength or something.
Just wear flat bottomed Vans.
color is kind of ugly, but they look alright
If you wear Nike I immediately assume you are a retarded nagger.
and of course we all know that everyone holds your opinion in the highest regard
right??
No. They are woefully ignorant and misguided. But it is not my duty to save you pathetic consumerist pieces of trash.
