it is mostly erector exercise. they get strongbisometric and eccentric contraction. hamstrings and butt is hit to lesser degree good for developing aesthetic body proportions. to max out hammies you need some straight leg deadlifts with constant tension and for quads you need constant tension knee dominant movemwnt be it hack squat or leg press. bodybuilders started having gross legs when tgey started doing more machine leg work. Platz did squats in constant tension poston style which is mentally too hard for most to do.

It depends on the build as well, with my long legs and short torso I primarily get back activation.
