Fat on long term cut, I was pretty happy today that I managed to do a couple of pull ups at 290 lbs, wasn't even part of my usual thing. I was just doing squats and sometimes I use the pull up handles to stretch a little, but for some reason I just went for it. Now looking forward to losing more weight and being able to do more reps. We're all going to make it bros.
Bought a pullup bar a few weeks ago. Started with negatives. Been doing them + chin ups + neutral grip pullups. Eventually started doing them weighted. Now they're ez
>mfw I can do 8+ close grip neutral pull ups or chin ups but I can barely do 4 wide normal pullups. >mfw I did lat pull-downs today and I realized that not only are my lats weak, my fucking SCAPULA are weak and I can barely maintain good form, right shoulder keeps rotating inwards
How do I train my scapulas???
>my fucking scapula >how do I train my scapula >I wasn't talking about my scapula
Get fucked moran. Also considering

has the problem of his shoulder rotating inwards, training the subscap further would be bad because its primary role is internal rotation
They're the same exact chins incorporate the biceps, which is why you can do more of them. Exercises that incorporate more muscle mass > exercises that incorporate less muscle mass.
>They're not the same. pull ups have more lat activation than chin ups
No they don´t you dumb cunt. The lat activation is the exact same. The only that changes is bicep activation. I´m not even that guy you´re replying to but fucking hell this is basic knowledge.
Are you fucking simple? If you're lifting the same amount, but you're biceps aren't taking as much of the weight, you're other muscles(lats) have to handle more weight in comparison. Have you tried using your brain to think about this for 2 seconds?
Negatives where you hold the top for at least 5 seconds. If you do that a few times a week, I can guarantee you'll be able to do pullups quickly unless you weigh 300 lbs.
I mean I've seen little kids do 10 or so, depends on if you're doing them with full ROM and how much you weigh.
If you're doing half reps and you're a twink it's not that impressive, otherwise 15 is very good
Because literally nothing in normal decadent sedentary life uses your lats so they're atrophied to basically nothing. Start with the lat pulldown machine, grip as wide as the bar allows, and do that until you can do your bodyweight, then switch to regular pullups.
just do grease the groose daily until you can do 20 of them
add 1 or two days where you work up to 5x5 for a specifc weight
10kg
20kg
30kg
40kg
rep is like 3x3, 3x4, 3x5,3x6
4x3,4x4,4x5
5x3,5x4,5x5
add 10kg start at 3x3 again
>can barely do pull-ups >get genius idea of bulking and getting stronger >never able to progress beyond 4-5 pull-ups because weight increases by the time in comfortable doing 4 pull-ups at the previous weight
When i cut, it's going to be the best shit ever
why are you so fucking fat

Good job anon, it's impressive that you can do them at that weight. It's pretty difficult even for a lanklet like me. We're all gonna make it.
If you can actually do pull ups at 290lbs then thats absurdly impressive.
fpbp. if you are reasonably fit and not a fatty then pull ups are easy
Bought a pullup bar a few weeks ago. Started with negatives. Been doing them + chin ups + neutral grip pullups. Eventually started doing them weighted. Now they're ez
Because you've been training for less than 5 months. Just do pull downs to build up a base
I also could never do pull ups. Started using a chair to help 2 weeks ago and with that I can now do a few good form reps.
As an alternative, do counterweighted pullups if you have a chain gym membership

>How do I train my scapulas???
This. I need to know. Maybe rear delt flys?
The scapula is a bone. You need to train the muscles that control it in the direction youre lacking movement/control
>scapula is a bone
subscapular muscle isn't - are u not familiar with shrthands noe bot? you get dumber by the day
>my fucking scapula
>how do I train my scapula
>I wasn't talking about my scapula
Get fucked moran. Also considering

It's "moron".
You are and idiot
hang
retract scapular
hold
>break 100 chicken wings
>and 20 ostrich wings
>and 5 eagle wings
face pulls, external rotation with an elastic band
Man face pulls feel great.
I like eating too much. Currently I just do assisted pull ups as my warm up/first movement and it has been helping. I will cut when I feel like it.
>>mfw
>doesn't post his face
>mfw
I prefer chin ups tbh
I'm sure pull ups are the superior exercise though
They're the same exact chins incorporate the biceps, which is why you can do more of them. Exercises that incorporate more muscle mass > exercises that incorporate less muscle mass.
>they are the same except they're not
They're not the same. pull ups have more lat activation than chin ups. chin ups have more bicep activation than pull ups

That's why you do more chin ups than pull ups and amount your lats worked equals out, holy fucking naggerbrain kys
Wtf. Try doing leg raises. That shit is fucking impossible.
Literally just pull yourself up bro lmao
Youre not supposed to just hang kek
i just started doing these again recently
got 5 consecutive on three different days, and today i did 6. feels fuckin great
How do pull ups relate to other lifts? Currently I'm at 0. Should I row and ohp body weight before attempting? Lose more fat?
Do rows and negatives, yes.
Negatives where you hold the top for at least 5 seconds. If you do that a few times a week, I can guarantee you'll be able to do pullups quickly unless you weigh 300 lbs.
They are hard lol. But I think getting better at doing chin-ups/pull-ups was the most rewarding experience as I got stronger. It’s 100% worth it.
Pull ups is a movement you get better at the more you do it. So do it before and after each workout.
don't be fat, or use an assisted pullup machine/bands to build strength up until you can do them properly
because I'm in your pocket 🙂
I'm in there, your pocket
theyre ez if youre not fat or a weakling, just transition
It's all about visualisation
Genius
Need a whole set of these
coz u fat
>feet up
I can do 15 pull ups without stopping. Is that good?
I mean I've seen little kids do 10 or so, depends on if you're doing them with full ROM and how much you weigh.
If you're doing half reps and you're a twink it's not that impressive, otherwise 15 is very good
if you weight 50kg - it's ok
if you weigh 90kg - it's good
Thank God the orange arrows are in this pic otherwise I wouldn't know how to do this exercise
Because literally nothing in normal decadent sedentary life uses your lats so they're atrophied to basically nothing. Start with the lat pulldown machine, grip as wide as the bar allows, and do that until you can do your bodyweight, then switch to regular pullups.
Get a resistance band, only way I was able to do it at 110kg
I put on 58lbs and was completely sedentary for 20 months and still managed 5 on rings
just do grease the groose daily until you can do 20 of them
add 1 or two days where you work up to 5x5 for a specifc weight
10kg
20kg
30kg
40kg

powershitting doesn't develop rotational muscles needed for pull ups.
