Why does one website tell me my maintenance is 3500 and another says 2500?

Why does one website tell me my maintenance is 3500 and another says 2500? Is this all bullshit estimates or is there a reliable site for this?

Only works if you’re eating food that is not calorie dense

If it works or not depends on your hunger, it is an absolutely retarded rule of thumb to blindly apply when you don't know the person's hunger.

        >t. retards that need a computer to tell them everything about their own body
Just eat when hungry, if you lose a pound eat a bit more and vice versa
        >oh no I’m not exactly 200lbs every single day I need a complicated diet calendar!!
        Die

          >if you lose a pound eat a bit more and vice versa
so do the exact opposite of "just eat when hungry", and adjust food intake based on how your weight moves

(If this was bait then gz you got me)

No it’s just an add on for if your weight starts to slide, I’m not saying your internal fuel gage is perfectly accurate but it’s good enough. And seeing as you have eyes and presumably access to a scale if you notice you’re losing/gaining a bit of weight just make a slight adjustment. People’s weight general doesn’t change much unless they’re ill, depressed or purposefully trying to change it. Eat when hungry and even if you don’t autisticly track what you’re eating to make sure you get exactly 3k every day it averages itself out. Sure use a plan to gain or lose weight but staying at a weight unless you’re strongman/bodybuilder sized and still need to eat a ridiculous amount it is no more complicated than it is for anyone else gymrat or not

Maintenance calculations based on height and weight are rough estimates at best. You’re better off finding your specific caloric needs. This sites say mine is 2,700 yet I would put on a ton of weight eating that much

It's a rough estimate, it will be especially inaccurate if you're overweight, since it doesn't know if it's muscle or fat.

If your maintenance was actually 3500 then you're either on steroids or fat.

Estimates are just a starting point. You're supposed to track your weight and calories and figure it out yourself.

Fatty here, I’ll lose 7 lbs in a week, go up 3 lbs the next, back down 2, then up 1 all while eating at 2000 calories exact a day (6’3” 285 lbs). Overall I lose when I intend to lose but it takes a large sample size of weeks to figure out what’s working and what isn’t.

Chart that on Excel and create a moving average trend line.

Yeah, since starting in June I’m down 30 lbs, but it’s all -3 +2 -1 -7 +3 -5 -6 +5 -6 etc. I get averages, but it takes a month or more before I can be certain of some stats, currently can’t tell if I’ve plateaued or not for example after 3 weeks of stagnation.

just weigh yourself every day for a week eating either amount and go from there

I’ve got a few years left until boomer status, but I think my loving days are over too.

None will be super accurate. Pick one and stick with it. Track your intake and weigh yourself about once a week to see if you're gaining/losing/maintaining. Adjust accordingly.
