It is also a fact that people generally can lose weight with the assistance of drugs that suppress your appetite. Which by itself proves that it isn’t as simple as your points would indicate.
Peoples bodies and hormonal system are broken and no longer have normal human levels of appetite signaling or fullness signaling. That is THE driver of obesity. And until we have a way to control that with little to no risk to human health, obesity will only get worse.

If you're doing sedentary office work, you really don't. Sure, hunger is distracting, but you get used to it. Our hunter-gatherer ancestors had weeks where they went with only 1500 calories and still went out to hunt the next day, so you can definitely skip a meal once in a while and still organize a spreadsheet.

My only days off are half of Saturday, and all of Sunday. That’s a day and a half of time I’ve got to meal prep for a week. I can meal prep a full weeks of food in a few hours (I do it on Saturday afternoon)
Learn to cook (YouTube is your friend), get some large pots and pans, a bunch of reusable containers, and just make a few different massive batches of meals that fit into your macros. Once you get going it becomes quite easy and very fun especially when you find new recipes to try out.
Despite working more or less full time, earning barely enough to scrape by, and commuting an hour a day, I still have time to work out daily, meal prep once a week, get groceries, and take care of my pets. People don't realize how much time they waste until they're short on it. Same goes for money.
I work 10 hours a day, slaving away in a physically demanding job I hate, and still get to the gym at least twice a week and run at least twice a week. Whats your excuse?

And some do have sub clinical hypothyroidism +/- high cortisol, making their TDEE very low.

Technically you don't have to weigh your portions or limit yourself to lentils, you could even eat and remain at a healthy weight if you do eat McDonalds, just don't over eat, that is it. Instead of sticking to soda everywhere try water instead and instead of some supersized portion that triggers your dopamine whatever just eat the portion better suited for your lifestyle.

Theyre not really trying or maybe they are making a fatal mistake like not tracking the food they eat or thinking fast food is fine if it has protein

The majority of people are never taught how to act; they’re taught how to talk.
If someone knows they’re fat, they will say “I’m so fat, I need to go on a diet” and read about diets and talk about going to the gym and etc etc but the actual act of breaking routine and making themselves a different life never happens. Change is scary, maybe that’s it. But personally I don’t think the average person is willing to leave the “life is good” mindset that comes with taking the path of least resistance.
Society facilitates getting fucking enormous AND won’t shame you for it AND is actually glorifying it AND giving you new ways to not love and keep eating every day? I had a hard day, what’s the harm in letting things be for one more night? Order the pizza, drink the beer, watch the tv. Don’t put the kids to bed, munch on some veggies and do some calisthenics: it’s trying too hard and you just can’t do it TODAY.

Because most people have mental problems associated with their obesity. For example being depressed, anxiety, bipolar, family or relationship problems etc. So eating can be a escape valve for those problems.
Also, working people tend to get more on the lazy side of cooking because they can be exausted and planning and prepping takes time.
From what I usually see it's because of a bad childhood, bad parents who didnt regulate the food, giving a lot of sugar intake. Then on adulthood those people can't get a grip on routine or won't treat the mental issues. (and they like blaming a lot on whatever they can find because truth be told they don't have the perserverance, or are depressed, or have a bad personality/bad people surrouding).

Eating socially is a big one. Constantly going out with friends/coworkers to eat unhealthy restaurant food and drink alcohol. Also working a sedentary job and eating the garbage treats other people bring into the office. Normies don't count their calories and think they're eating healthy when they actually aren't
Any time I gain some weight from a bulk I just drink milk and don't eat anything for like 4 days and I'm back down to a normal weight without losing any muscle. Took me years to figure that out but now if I gain weight it's so easy to be skinny again thanks to the power of my milky.

I was told how hard it was, so I decided to just eat less and went from 120lb lardass to 60kg skelly in about 8 months. Currently doing a clean bulk to escape skellemode. Curiously, my male friends and family supported me but my former beta male and female friends tried to sabotage me. It was a good learning experience and I cut ties with them.

I lost 45kgs of fat in a year and the only people that supported me were strangers, its funny how people you think of as friends change their attitude towards you once you get fit or when trying to get fit.
A guy I know for more than 15 years and though of my best mate every time we met (literally) was like 'eh you gonna give up soon, it is just for this month etc', never said a kind or motivational word. Meanwhile randoms at the gym approach every now and then to say congrats for the body recomp.
I've had an interesting mix of responses. My roommate supports my weight loss but tells me to be careful whenever I mention I'm only halfway down to where I need to be (120# / 10%BF)

Not everyone makes it. Not everyone is going to have a 6 pack. Not everyone is going to run a sub 8 minute mile. Not everyone is going to be able to bench / squat / deadlift 900 lbs. When they get hungry, they eat. They don't tough it out and try to make it to bed.
They don't go to the gym with the expectation of getting better. They'll do cardio for 20 minutes or until it actually starts getting difficult, then stop and go in the pool / hot tub before getting Chick-fil-A or Chipotle on their way home. They just want to "have fun running a 5K with their friends". They don't sniff a half marathon unless one of their friends on social media ran one.
Stay as far away from these people as possible. They will drag you down with them. You will become disgusted with their behavior knowing if they just put slightly above bare minimum effort, they would achieve everything they want out of life. They're just coasting.
