literally just did 3 sets of curls and now I'm just done. I'm burnt, fried, etc. Very tired. Is this normal for someone who hasn't lifted consistently in a while (years)? I can do cardio just fine but weights wreck me. My bloodwork comes back fine, btw. Can I do some cardio to round out my weightlifting workouts until I can actually get a good ~10 sets in? A paltry 3 sets of curls hardly counts as a workout in my book but it's my limit I feel like I'll pass out if I do anymore.
Less weight, more reps, build endurance and muscle then return to heavy weights at a later date.
This is what I've been trying to do with cardio but it hasn't been translating all that well to weightlifting. I'll try to throw in some high-rep work though maybe that'll do the trick thanks.
I feel like that's not enough, though. Like I won't get a fat enough pump. I'll try it, though, thanks.
>diet
Protons: ground beef, ground bison, ground turkey, deenz eggs, greek yogurt, almonds
Carbs: brown rice, potatoes, sweet potatoes, oatmeal, black beans
Fruits: apples, bananas, oranges, blueberries
Veggies: spinach, collard greens, kale, broccoli, carrots
>smoker
literally not even once. I used a vape for a month back in 2017 and smoked weed off and on for a number of years but never got deep into it and haven't smoked for a year now.
>weight
145lbs
>iron deficiency
I pound meat (esp. red meat) as hard as I can because that's what I thought it was as well. My iron levels come back fine according to the blood tests I've gotten.
No.
Oh yeah and
Fats: avocado, peanut butter, olive oil, butter
Basically no one is iron deficient. If anything you're magnesium and copper deficient and can't use iron properly.
Eat more liver if you aren't.
>My nasal airflow is fucked up though and I'm sure that affects my ability to get air in and out during my workout and when I sleep.
Pretty sure I'm getting enough Mg and Cu in my diet but I'll jack it up and see what happens.
>Cu
-oysters back on the menu
-cashews back on the menu
-shiitake mushrooms added to the menu
-beef liver added to the menu
-more potatoes
>Mg
-pumpkin seeds back on the menu
-will eat tuna more frequently
-will make doubly sure to get in spinach everyday
>mouth breathing
I just need to get surgery. I habitually breathe through my nose and breathing through my mouth feels gross and extremely uncomfortable but I just can't get enough air in sometimes and so I'm forced to use my mouth.
just fucking take a multi and magnesium supps retard
Supplements and pills and powders are just a clusterfuck. And they rarely work for me. I'm not a hippie or what have you but real food does work whereas pills and shit seem to just go right through me.
I sincerely have a bottle of multi's and some Dr.'s fucking Best magnesium chilling in my room and I guess I'll give those mother fuckers a try for 3 weeks but I highly doubt they'll actually do anything.
Oyster have a lot of zinc which will deplete copper if you consume too much.
Time to pin trt and blast or cruise or whatever it is they do
If you're exhausted from a few sets of curls, what do you think will happen when you try to workout while blasting steroids?
Fucking dyels I swear.
do one work set instead of three
diet? smoker? weight?
there's so many info needed before giving advise.
it could also be iron deficency. give us more details, it's literally impossible to answer you anything remotely plausible
>that means it's working
did you get the clot shot?
hearing and fighting against your inner voice asking you to stop doing more sets and sit down lazily on a couch is one thing but "burnt" "fried" "etc" sounds odd. you're either a immesurably massive pussy or you got some deficiency or maybe blood pressure or something going on. try giving big, real big rests in between sets and see if it changes anything maybe?
>hearing and fighting against your inner voice asking you to stop doing more sets and sit down lazily on a couch
Yeah it's not that at all. It's not like running where you can just push through by force of raw will alone. It's more like I'm on the verge of fainting and falling down and hitting my head on something I shouldn't. It's not pushing past a wall; it feels like pushing through a danger zone that I shouldn't fuck with.
I'll try the big fat rests between sets.
are you eating enough? sick recently? covid affecting oxygen intake?
>are you eating enough?
I eat the most out of my family. People gasp at how much I eat. I always out-eat everyone at restaurants and am "that guy" that asks
>you gonna finish that?
>sick recently
yeah I was fucked up last week but I have been steadily climbing out of that hole. I felt a little congested yesterday, still, but today I feel quite normal. If nothing else I'd say I woke up too early but that's about it.
>covid affecting oxygen intake
I mean I've had trouble getting back into weights for this specific reason (lightheadedness/extreme fatigue a few sets in) for years now. I took 3 (three) covid tests last week because it really did feel like I had it (lost my sense of taste, too) but they all came back negative, so. My nasal airflow is fucked up though and I'm sure that affects my ability to get air in and out during my workout and when I sleep.
I have to use these magnetic breath strips to prop open my nasal passages at night but I'm probably going to go in for surgery in a month or so here to get it corrected. So that might help. Better sleep definitely equals better workouts and less of that lightheaded feeling. Good, deep sleep is hard to come by for me, though.
>yeah I was fucked up last week but I have been steadily climbing out of that hole. I felt a little congested yesterday, still, but today I feel quite normal.
this is probably it
i came down with some shit in june and it took a couple weeks to feel normal in the gym again
i had that same lightheaded bullshit you're talking about
i never got the clot shot though (fuck that bullshit)
I doubt that's it tbh. Yeah, my energy levels took a big hit, but even before I got sick I've been having trouble getting more than a few sets in in the gym.
I banged out 30 minutes of cardio yesterday on a stationary bike while mostly on a 5 (out of 8) resistance setting and I could have done more. I feel great and can really push myself doing cardio but with weights I have to be really careful.
i had no issues with cardio either
it was lifting heavy that was the problem for me
made me feel like i was going to pass out
i'm back to normal now though
Make sure you aren't fucking up your breathing when lifting. I doubt thats it but if you are a complete noob I figured I'd mention it.
>people gasp at what I eat
>I weigh 145 lbs
Lol.
unironically low t
Eat more carbs before working out.
I'll try this. Gonna throw down a fat breakfast before I hit it.
I hope like hell this nose job and changing up my medication will help me sleep better, because sleep is and has been a fucking problem for me and I know it is correlated with my energy in the gym.
Sleep more and do cardio
Build up some l-citrulline, eat some beets, lift lower weights higher reps like other anon said. I just started again after years and I'm great until the end of my set doing that and I'm doing squats and deadlifts as well.
Did you do it on a completely empty stomach or something
No, I make sure to eat. I used to lift on an empty stomach in college but I can't really do that anymore I'll be way too tired. I need to be completely on top of my diet in order to even get through cardio these days.
What I’m saying is if you weigh 145 lbs you’re either a manlet or a total dyel who has no idea what he’s talking about and is probably lifting too much weight and has an eating disorder. Lower the weight to the minimum until you can get a full workout in, start actually eating 3000+ cals a day and push yourself.
Stop lowering the quality of this board with your shitty attention-seeking behavior.
A question similar to the thread since i don't wanna make a new one.
Tested positive for covid 2 days ago and now it's day 3 and im actually ok (only sore throat) and i feel 85% ok to go lift a little for a deload instead of staying home again.
Should i go bros or im i risking it? Should i take it as a rest week? The last 7 months i was 6on every week never missing a day and doing 12k steps on top of that and i was on top of my diet and im losing gains as we speak.
How did you guys train post covid? It's weird that i got it after fucking 3 years of coof existing.
eat clen
tren hard
anavar give up
Drink way more water and try to isolate the muscle better.
