1. Read https://physiqonomics.com/fat-loss/
2. Calculate your Body Fat Percentage: http://fitness.bizcalcs.com/Calculator.asp?Calc=Body-Fat-Navy
3. Calculate your TDEE: https://www.sailrabbit.com/bmr/
Remember to use bodyfat% and use Katch-McArdle Formula with sedentary settings or your TDEE will be too high.
4. Plan your weight loss: https://www.losertown.org/eats/cal.php
5. Track your nutrition with MyFitnessPal (better for packaged food), Cronometer (better for generic food/macros) or LoseIt (great for both).
>Now what?
Count calories, all of them.
Eat about 500-1000 less calories than your TDEE.
Buy scales, be accurate.
Learn to cook. Try to stick to lean protein and green vegetables.
Eat a lot of protein. 0.72g per lb of goal lean body mass.
Doing cardio, even just walking, will improve your health. There is no such thing as a healthy fat heart, but you can offset the risks.
Lifting weights will keep and gain muscle mass and burn fat much quicker. No lifting results in the body burning away muscle AND fat.
Drink more water.

Two questions!
1. I'm 190 and 5'11"(?--height gains possible because I got dick gains) right now and curious when my abs will begin showing. My goal is a six pack.
2. Why is my nose hurting and why does my stomach hurt lately?
>1
Depend how muscular you are. When I was ~150 5'11" I had visible ribs but no abs because I wasn't muscular.
>2
Impossible to say
I have slightly visible ribs and no abs myself. I'm hoping the uppermost ones begin showing as my belly recedes behind my ribcage.
>When will abs start to show
At around 15% bodyfat. I'd say you're a fair bit off yet
This isn't accurate it depends on fat distribution. I'm above 15% and can seey abs and an extreme example would be like Eddie Hall who is at least 20 and still has visible abs
Oh sure if you're abusing insulin and hgh you will develop the classic bodybuilder "bubble gut"
24/25% gang represent
this chart still triggers my shit so badly, primarily because the sides/love handles of my body are literally almost non existent and look like the 13-15% image, yet my actual front of my stomach pouch is easily the 25-30% image. What the actual FUCK has happened with my fat distribution holy fucking shit FUCK OFF ALREADY BELLY POUCH PLEASE FUCK OFF
Ha, I'm in the same boat. I'm a 24.3 BMI now. I was obese last Christmas at 30.7
My weight loss slowed right down as I approached normal weight. I thought the love handles would take forever to go, they are slow, but there's not much left to them.
The only fat left is a paunch on my abdomen and I think my face could lose a little bit more.
I'm going to aim to go to a BMI of 23, maybe even 22, I'll judge it by appearance.
I'm also making good gains with the exercises. I'm very happy so far.
God willing I will be reversing my diet before this Christmas coming and will have the nutrition to make some nice muscle building gains in the gym
what's your height and weight
I'm 196 lbs @ 6'3
This chart is retarded, I'm 22% bf and got clearly defined abs.
Also the 20-24% guy looks 30%.
I'm like the 20 to 25 image but withought the love handles. I still have them, but they're almost non existent.

Remember: the first step to lose weight is stop all carb consumption.
Anything else is unnecessary.
Nonsense. I lost most of my weight on a high carb nearly no fat diet. I'm 80lbs lighter than I was at my heaviest. Once you plateau, then simply cut your carb portions down. No need to ever stop all carb consumption.

How so? Do you get them delivered? I'd also be interested in hearing about your progress so far
Wasn't actually burgers was just making a play on my name. Don't have transportation usually I get a ride to get groceries but this week my ride wasn't available and I resorted to delivery and I ended up stuck with too much bad food around. Also just more depressed in general this week for some reason. Hopefully this week will be better.
I already did when I started at my peak of 496. I'll post another one when I can actually see a difference.
why don't you get your groceries delivered so you don't order takeout?
I hadn't thought of it tbh, not sure where I would go to do something like that. Guess I'll look into it thanks. Do you have any recommendations?
I think all grocery stores home-deliver, especially since the pandemic. I mostly do my shopping at walmart because i like the veg quality.
NTA but if you have a Walmart near you and want to fully commit to home delivery groceries, you should check out their yearly membership since it’s free delivery for groceries that cost more than 35usd.
Since I work from home and don’t have a car I just have everything delivered to me, it saves on gas and time going there

I'm hungry all the time. I hate myself. I have been eating 200+ grams of protein and I'm still waking up too hungry to sleep. I eat about 3 lbs. of green vegetables per day. I've done water fasts before. I've tried keto (too weak to work out or cardio, missed eating fruit, regained the weight due to hunger), I've tried PSMF (regained all the weight due to hunger), I've tried low fat (regained all the weight due to hunger).
Blah, this sucks. I'm eating 3,000 calories per day and I can't stop. Chicken breast, broccoli, spinach, low fat cottage cheese, eggs, beans. Doesn't fucking matter and I get so hungry that I overeat on fruit, nuts, and seeds.
>wake up and can't sleep because of hunger
I'm presuming this is when you take in the extra calories?
Can you tolerate hunger early in the morning. Maybe try something like intermittent fasting or OMAD were you eat the bulk of your alloted calories in a evening meal.
Go hungry during the day, but deal with it, have a satiating meal in the evening so you're not as hungry going to sleep
>I overeat on fruit, nuts, and seeds
Get rid of them (for now)
Don't have food in the home that you can easily pick up and eat
Have food that needs preparation.
This will slow down the the impulsive behaviour
That's because 90% of your daily diet should be a starchy carb like potato. You'll keep failing until you realize this. Haven't met a keto person that could stick to their insane diet.

Any redpills on burning fat cells completely? I've heard mention that it can be done, possibly through fasting, but I don't remember exactly. Conventional wisdom says that once fat cells are made, they never go away, only shrink in size.
Autophagy is a gay meme. It doesn't exist and fasting fanatics love to pretend it does
Autophagy does exist, it's just a normal function of metabolism rather than some super saiyan unlockable mode
Has anybody here used noom? I know it's a ripoff for food tracking but the p. coach is meh. I feel like I'm getting more from reading atomic habits and shit posting here
I lost 1.2 lbs so far this month which I think is bullshit
i used it, i didnt like it
>Eat a lot of protein. 0.72g per lb of goal lean body mass
isn't this shit advice since your body can only handle 35g of protein at once before turning excess into body fat or just pissing/shitting it out?
no it's not + thats not true
Provide solid facts that prove otherwise
if you ate 500g of protein a day do you think you would gain mass or would you lose a ton of weight by shitting out 465g of it?
different proteins digest at different speeds. if you drank 500g of whey, it wouldn't be the same as if you ate 500g of chicken.
Either you burn it out provided you are under your TDEE or it just becomes stored energy aka fat you stupid twat

Help me out bros. My cursed insomnia is killing my weight loss gainz. I remain strong and keep my cals under my goal, but I get hungry and I'm bloated because I can't sleep.
What kind of supplements do you recommend? I'm already doing the "no screens 2 hrs before bed" and "trying to go to bed at the same time" and I only end up rolling around in bed until dawn.
A deficit spikes cortisol which causes sleep disruption. Happens to everyone. I take Magnesium and Glycine about an hour before bed and that usually makes me sleep fine. Valerian root tea is also good apparently. If it gets really bad you can try Melatonin but I've heard that relying on that can get bad.
thank you anon
Stop making excuses. I'm so exhausted from a decade of sleep disorder that I've been randomly passing out sitting up doing shit and I still continue to lose weight. I'm down nearly 85lbs from my heaviest. Nothing I've tried has cured my sleep bullshit. I recommend you only eat at meal times and deal with the hunger by accepting it. The worst night hungry is the first one. Accept that you won't sleep well some nights because hunger will bother you. If you truly have a sleep disorder, you will eventually be exhausted enough to pass out no matter how hungry you are. Maybe not that night, but the next. I used to have zero impulse control like you. Never allow yourself to eat between meals. You want a snack? Then eat it for lunch tomorrow. Hungry? Good. Fucking great. That should be your goal every single day you want to lose weight.
fat bros, take the walking pill. i was 330lbs at my heaviest and now im 250lbs from just walking and OMAD. its the easiest thing you can do, find a point one mile from your home, walk there and walk back, do that 5 times a week and now youre walking 40 miles a month.
Your math is off.
5 times 1+1 is ten
To clear 40 miles in 5 trips you'd have to pick a spot 4 miles away and walk there and back
huh?
2 miles a day
5 days a week
4 weeks in a month
Sorry skipped passed the month thing

Cycling is legitimately easier on your joints, occupies less time, and has the potential to burn more calories all at once. If you can afford a bike or already have one I would 100% recommend it.
i have a rowing machine i use too but walking just feels a lot better. i dont mind spending the time since i found this nice trail thats hilly enough
Agreed. Walking is goated.
Cycling is good too but I prefer to walk in the woods and mountain biking is its own separate deal.

Broke my foot. Is it fine to drop my protein intake to like 90-100g while I'm recovering? I want to lower my calorie intake and food bill and less protein would make both so much easier.
Literally the opposite. You want to keep protein intake high to spare lean mass wasting. Also for breaks and injuries I'd recommend atleast maintenance calories. You'll probably not heal very fast on a deficit which will only fuck you up longer term
if you haven't seen a doctor yet, ask them when you do

DROP CUNT
Dw it's a bearish pattern
I managed to do my first few pull-ups.
I'm doing 15 pushups in a single rep now.
It's not a quick improvement even though I'm doing it every day, because I do them whenever with varying rest periods. So I take what I can get, I'm slowly coming to terms with exercising.
I lost a bit of weight despite traveling and eating out a few days a week because of social activities. I mostly stayed within my TDEE.
I lost around 3kg in the last 2 months (took me a bit to nail the diet) and I didn't see any change in my body fat % even though I put on a bit of muscle.
I'm at 26.2% body fat right now. My body looks awful, I'm in the obese fat % range and I'm close to my normal weight according to BMI. I have huge love handles.
I'm sticking to a clean diet for as long as I can now, no cheats or nothing now that I'm back home.
I'm still doing 2 protein shakes and 1x 160g-ish meal with mostly protein and green vegetables, for a roughly 1k to 800 cal cut a day.
I'm 5'5 and I'm at 157lb. I honestly want to cry. I have no idea how I'm going to get rid of this fat. I'm pretty sure I have to go way below my normal BMI to lose it. I was 123lb at some point in my life, I was hitting the gym back then and I still looked awful. I'm willing to go starving marvin mode and then bulk again if necessary.
I will keep working on the pull-ups, once I'm more comfortable with it, I will get a gym sub.
I will also switch one of the protein shakes for egg whites, to cut a bit more calories and carbs.
I'm currently consuming around 100 to 120g of protein daily. Around 30g of carbohydrates (whey, milk, vegetables, seasonings), some of this being fibers.
Yes, my diet wasn't always this clean.
I will keep reporting my journey here, you guys have good advice and it keeps my grounded to keep a rough diary here.
Is this fixable within 8 months/1 year? I'm kinda weak rn and I suffer from extreme social anxiety, which is why I'm avoiding the gym for now.
Keep your deficit consistent and keep up the working out and in 8 months you'll look like a different person. 8 months ago I was 280lbs, today I'm 198lbs and only 20 away from my target.
If you can't lift in a gym then try callisthenics although lifting is best to make you look good. You'll probably still be kinda flabby at goal weight but another 12 months of bulking and you'll have some good musculature.
You can make it brah
>I suffer from extreme social anxiety, which is why I'm avoiding the gym for now.
The first time I went to the gym I was visibly obese and completely clueless to what I was supposed to be doing.
Stripping off in the locker room I felt completely out of my depth thinking other guys were smirking at my condition (it was all in my head)
I paid for the year up front so I was determined to get my moneys worth.
Now I'm no longer the most out of condition person there.
Just make yourself go. The more you go the more you get used to it, the better your body will look.
There's an important reason that weight lifting is strongly recommended for those who are losing a substantial amount of weight
>There's an important reason that weight lifting is strongly recommended for those who are losing a substantial amount of weight
I know, keeping the lean mass is hard. I'm doing home exercises for that, it helps. I'm hitting my macros as well. I'm still weak enough that home exercises with a bar can make me sore. My deadline to hit the gym is when I can no longer get sore exercising with the bar, or within the next 2 months.
Did you hire a personal trainer?
I'm at that low point that even looking at people makes me feel miserable. Sometimes I go out without my glasses because I can't see them at all. I'm only grounded and stable because I work from home and I get groceries and everything else delivered at my door.
>Did you hire a personal trainer?
Nah, I watched some videos around splits, routines, rep and set ranges, and exercise choices on YouTube. And as I said I looked at what the other guys in the gym were doing
Question for the guy who got gallbladder stones during his weight loss. What did you eat, did you eat a lot of eggs?
He was eating low-fat.
You can avoid gallstones by eating sufficient fat.
Do you guys have set routines for lifting? I've just been doing whatever and I think it shows
Is it worth buying a nintendo switch just to get ring fit adventure?
I'm very sedentary, lost about 80 pounds, still 10-20 to go for my goal, and now my weight loss has become extremely slow.
Thinking of getting this as a good way to get active while still staying inside, so I don't have to challenge my social anxiety in a real gym.
I just finished my first month of my first job, so a switch+ringfit would be a bit less than half of my first paycheck...
Ring fit is pretty good, I like the boxing game on switch too which I do semi frequently. Of course it’s all about how much you choose to return to the games and then they become worth it.
There’s a good chance you’ll buy them, play them a few times and then never start them up again for another year
Don’t spend almost half your first paycheck on video games anon
To be fair, I don't really have anything in particular I want or need to spend money on, so that's why I even started considering it in the first place, I felt like at least it would be money spent on me. Sadly there really is nothing else on the switch I want to play so it's a hard pill to swallow...
I do have a bike, before I staretd working I was able to get an hour of bike in every couple days or so, but in the last month I've had 0 time working almost every day...
I'll save the money and try to get back on the bike for now, and keep ring fit in the back of my mind I guess, it is quite a bit of money, I could even buy a better bike with it now that I think about it. THanks anons.
Even if you don’t have anything else you want it’s good to save your money for a rainy day, money is power and too many people live paycheck to paycheck
Any exercise is better than no exercise. It's cool and all, but it's kind of more focused on volume/cardio/calories training. As a beginner it's good as a strengthening training, if you don't wanna hit the gym. As far as cardio goes, well it's comfortable because you are at home, but you are better off hitting a treadmill or swimming.
Anyway, in your case it's worth it, it's actually kinda fun too. I stopped doing it because I don't like jumping/skipping etc in my apartment, building structure is kinda flimsy.
Just don't expect a miracle out of that.
Also this
maybe it suits your temperament, i tried it but got bored pretty quick. then i got a bike and it's way more enjoyable to get the exercise done outside.
Your portions are too large. That's the only reason for a plateau. First check how much fat and carbs you're eating. Then ask yourself if you can reduce those. Fastest fifteen pounds I ever lost was by reducing portions when I thought I was doing everything right.
Honestly you would get more out of buying some decent dip bars and a simple routine. One day you do dips and bodyweight rows. The next just do bodyweight bulgarian split squats on your couch. Once you're doing that every day, add in a few other exercises, but if you get lazy go back to those first three exercises. Only shit you need to a way better than average body.

I googled it and seems like potatoes are pretty healthy so it’s fine
I’ve been on OMAD for 8 months with a mostly protein diet so yeah they stuffed me like a doujin

>were you exercising on an empty stomach when you're not used to it?
I'm not used to execising at all, and I had toast and ham before going out.
>did you sweat a lot and your drinks didn't have salts ("""electrolytes""")?
I did sweat a lot, and drank only water
Should I've had more food? Should I get something with electrolytes to drink tomorrow?
>Should I've had more food?
i like something small before and then a little bit of food every hour or so. eating heavy messes with my stomach. maybe bring a small snack to try in case it happens again, banana is good for this
>Should I get something with electrolytes to drink tomorrow?
i'd suggest it, especially in heat. any time i ride more than an hour in normal weather i always make sure to have those effervescent electrolyte tablets.
the symptom is a little vague but these are the two things i'd try first.
>food every hour or so

Yeah the antiketo posters are vegan leftists. The same type of people who are on IST shilling Rings of Power right now.
Going to end the day at 1390 kcals, 116 protein, 54 carbs, 76 fat. It's kinda remarkable how little a diet has to feel like one. I had a cup of cottage cheese for breakfast, a chicken tender and half a big bag of pork skins for lunch, and will be having 5 very large meatballs and some cheese for dinner. If I ate any more for any of these meals I would legitimately feel sick.
My best bro gifted me one month of diet + personal training at his gym. Started last week and I already want to fucking become an absolute unit and a vessel for the indominable human spirit. Looks like DOCTORS HATE HIM tier bullshit
There are effective fat burners, but all of them are illegal and/or have horrible side effects. Meth-tier stimulants, cellular poisons that promote thermogenesis, ect.
And none of the working ones are weird unnamed patches from Aliexpress. At best they'll give you pepper bandage and claim that the itch is actually fat burning.
Doesn't ECA stacks still work.
And ephedrine is illegal/tightly controlled in lots of countries because it's used by junkies as precursor to meth.
There's still ways to get many illegal things pretty easily.
Shit some people still do DNP.
Of course, it's entirely different market compared to weird bullshit peddled by chinks on aliexpress or wherever these patches are sold.
If you're getting fat burner from open market and it's not cafferine, you're being ripped off.

And you weigh what, no more than 140lbs if your tdee is that low? That's on the high end of normal anon, why are you cutting?
148.3lbs.
Cutting because I'm at ~20% body fat
Depends how long you have been lifting but if it's less than a year just eat at maintenance and keep lifting.
>less than a year
Yeah. I'm pure blue man. But shouldn't I work at cutting now so I can be better at it when I need to do it again?
Forgot pic
There's no point to cut that far down if you have 0 muscle anon. You could cut 20 lb and still look bad unforrunately, better to just do maintanence + regular lifting
I've come to terms with the fact that I will look bad for at least 8 months. The goal is to cut down to 15% (~9lbs) and work a recomp for awhile.

what's the optimal body fat percentage for putting on lots of muscle?
is it just to do a "lean bulk" where you're eating a few hundred calories more than maintenance, each day?
i feel like ive been eating at around maintenance most days, some days a little higher, some a little lower.
and ive been slowly putting on body fat, as a result. but also been gaining muscle.
it feels like a really fine line I'm walking, and it feels like I am still putting on more fat than I'd like.
should i just do a small cutting phase to get back down a few percentage points of body fat, then continue as i am doing now?
i am 5'7" and around 150lbs fyi. and i lift 60-90 minutes a day, and do about 2 hours of LISS cardio a day.

Again this is at 5'7" tall, 33 years old, male, 150lbs body weight. I think I am at 20% body fat now. I was down to 132lbs 14.5% over half a year ago. but absoolute dyel
I think the typical cycle is bulk when you hit 12-14% body fat, cut when you hit 20%.

Okay
To be fair I recently left the over weight category since I’m 6’5 209lbs

I like your art, got an account I can follow?
I got a question for you all,
I hate the apartment I am living in and I desire to change and it can affect my weightloss journey.
Option A I would be able to bicycle to work everyday, but I am further away from areas I like to spend my time in during my free time.
Option B, I would be unable to bike to work but I would be within easy walking distance of multiple gyms and it would be in an area that I really like hanging out in but it is also a shitty part of a shitty town.
Why do you like hanging out in a shitty part of town?
I live in Charleston, which is the ruined capital of the CSA so there's a bunch of neato architecture/ bipolar art bitches in the neighborhood. I moved from Honolulu so I'm already used to living in the city and the suburbs make me want to kill myself
excuse me, but I think my shithole city of richmond is the ruined capital of the csa
Maybe politically, but from a cultural standpoint Charleston was the head. First shots of the civil war rang out here.
Just my 2 cents but I am very much hoping my next job will allow for biking to work. I hate sitting in traffic and having to drive.
My old job I could ride my bike 15 minutes to the gym and 20 minutes to work, which was about a 5 mile ride one way. I hate where I live now because there's just a massive lack of public transportation/ sidewalks and the drivers here suck absolute cunt and I would probably get ran over.
People in my town are like that. Luckily there is a damn good bike path by American standards. To get to the closest grocery store I intersect one minor residential street, and to get downtown I think you intersect like 3 streets. My issue is I work construction so I can't anyways. The town I'm hoping to move to has a shit ton of cyclists that mostly ride on the road. There's also I think two roads that are 35mph or above, one of which is the very edge of the town.
>Be me, 280 lbs, 6 ft
>Went from manual labor to desk job 6 months ago
>No fucking idea how it got this bad
Just finished reading the sticky. Got a treadmill here, and a set of dumbbells. Pray for me.
I went from nearly obese to skinny fat in the last couple months and there are so many things I didn't realize would be so much more comfortable. Clothing fits my body better, I can comfortably sit with my knees pulled in, laying on my front doesn't cause me any discomfort...all things that I didn't even really notice. It feels good.
I haven't eaten in 3 days, when are you supposed to stop fasting?
When you reach your goal weight.
Just discovered this stuff, where has it been all my life? I don't know if it's because I have been abstaining from sugar for so long but I swear it almost has a sweet fruity taste. I can't believe how much better it tastes than plain water. Is there any downside besides the cost to drinking this stuff? I think I could completely give up soda if I could drink it instead.
Carbonation in general can upset the stomach and cause digestive issues. I had a stretch of really bad acid reflux about a year ago and I couldn't even drink shit like that.
The only thing I can think of that could be a downside is that the carbonation is slightly acidic. So, slightly bad for your teeth, etc.
Do you gain more confidence after you lose weight?
I feel being fat makes me easily vulnerable to being gaslight due to low self-esteem.
You'd think, and maybe ever so slightly, but for me, no. Down from 320 to 190 6'0.
I do enjoy dressing nice now, and I've actually really started to enjoy endurance training. But big picture? I was happier when I was eating a shit load and drinking like a fish.
I'm 280 and people still tell me I'm attractive now.
I don't believe them, because I never get women hitting on me or wanting to have sex with me or be in a relationship with me.
So like, I get it, I'm fat.
But also this probably doesn't mean well for the future of my mindset when I get skinny.
Confidence is mental bro, you can be confident now. You just feel shitty because you think you look shitty.
I want to kill myself more now than 250 pounds ago. Making it is a mindset anon
most of the time feel like shit with a few spikes of feeling more confined like looking in a mirror and not seeing man boobs or old pictures
How do so many fat guys have flat, pancake moobs? I want those instead of perky ones.
this general has been around for a while. how many have graduated?
Besides a DEXA scan is there any other simpler way to calculate my body fat %? I really want to know where I am and how far from 15% I am. I still have fat on my stomach area by most of the rest of me has melted awy
Do the navy fat calculation in OP, but add 3-4% to it to account for the margin of error. But don't take the measurement so seriously, its just another number that can be used for tracking. Not even DEXA scans are 100% accurate (margin of error at like 1-2%). The biggest factors to consider are:
>is the scale number trending down
>is your waist number trending down
>are your lifts getting better or at least holding up
Yes to all three is the answer, but I think my issue is I'm just unsure how close I am to 15% and it'd be fun to know just how close am I
The thing is my body is just...fucking weird. Every resource I've read about fat loss talks about your body shrinking in size "evenly", yet for me it never seems to be the case. My arms, love handles, thighs, everything has reduced drastically, but my stomach (the front belly pouch) is just still huge despite everything else being so slim. I am aware this is the last spot your body drains fat from, so this is normal, but I just want to see how close I am getting to that BF% I want. I am seeing progress on all those fronts yet still feel my stomach refuses to leave
What are quick easy dinners I can make when I get home from work and are too lazy to cook
Rice cooker rice with veggies and chicken
Omelette with salami and cheese
I put almost everything in an Instant Pot. Toss whatever food in there and forget about for a few minutes. Then you have a week of leftovers.
Where is Suomixar? He must answer for his degeneracy
Dead
Can I still eat Hispanicy tuna roll sushi and lose weight? It's the only food I truly love
Have you ever met a fat Japanese person?
Yes
Yes, she didn't get fat until she moved to the US.
Does "starvation mode" actually exist? I'll be honest I just want to lose weight as fast as possible, side effects be damned I'd rather die then stay fat at this point
There is no short cut
Clearly there is because some people drop 10lbs in 10 months while others drop 100lbs in 10 months. It doesn't need to be easy or "sustainable" it just needs to work
If its not sustainable then it didn't work stupid. If you'd rather be dead than fat and you end up getting fat again then whats the point
There's no such thing as a sustainable diet you fucking retard because in order to lose weight you have to eat at a calorie deficit. When you are at your goal weight your diet is completed and you eat to maintain your weight understand?
Yes I do understand because I lost all the weight dip shit. If you aren't eating like you will eat at maintenance, just less, then it will not work. Do YOU understand? If you fast for 30 days and just go back to drinking beer and eating McDonald's then its not going to happen for you. If you eat nothing but chicken and broccoli for a year but then go back to chugging soda and eating ice cream and shit then its not going to happen for you. Statistics show that diets fail at an alarmingly high rate and the ones that don't are because the individual changed the way that they did things in their life to reflect that. Which means learning to make sustainable choices, understanding proper nutrition, and exercising. Do it or don't dude I dont give a shit if you stay obese and retarded but there are no short cuts so get that shit out of your head or just never make it.
>duuude you'll relapse if you eat 3500 calories a day
Thank you for stating the obvious retard.
Stay fat and stupid buddy
You are mentally ill
I'm mentally and physically very healthy actually, which is much more than we can say for you. Keep searching for that short cut though dummy. Every day you waste looking for a short cut instead of lifting weights and eating reasonable portions of a well balanced diet is a day further from your goal. Stay obese and miserable talking about how you'd rather be dead than live with your choices
You are unironically mentally ill. A diet is like taking antibiotics. When the sickness (being fat ends) the diet terminates. All you need to do to not regain it back is to not eat too much. Everybody knows that you gay so posting such a meaningless statement just makes you look retarded. The only question is what's the quickest way to lose weight
Then the answer youre looking for is to cut off a body part. Wait a bit longer and the diabetes will do it for you tubbo
mmkay so you're just trolling got it
Keep searching for that magic pill. Another day wasted another day further from your goal
You need to learn to love the climb. Looking for quick results isn't how anyone makes it. He is right about something, and it's that you're obviously not in the right state of mind to shift your lifestyle and transform your body permanently.
Quick weight loss gimmicks are strictly for weigh-ins (fighters) that NEED to be a certain weight before a competition and they can quickly gain it back.
This is such a delusional take. You think like that because you were probably addicted to eating McDonald's so the idea of someone dropping junk food at the drop of a hat is just totally alien to you. You genuinely believe it's a process when it's only a process if you have an addiction. When you don't have an addiction it's just a numbers game. I'm gonna stop bothering since it's clear you're all deluded retards who bounce back and forth and pretend not drinking a can of soda is a magical accomplishment of willpower.
It's interesting that you bring up a magic pill when that's not what I asked for. Maybe stop projecting
>I'm gonna stop bothering
You never started bothering lmao. Youre obese and asking for a shortcut that doesn't exist youre approaching it with someone that has the ideals and nutritional understanding of the 1980s that thinks dieting is the answer. The answer is to focus on eating the right things consistently a majority of the time. You dont diet, you restrict calories leaving your diet largely the same and just limiting amount. Your brain is denser than your undeniably massive gut
Just starve yourself and take pills that kill your appetite
>Does "starvation mode" actually exist
No
Anons are giving you good advice in this thread and you're REEing.
No, there's no starvation mode shortcut. Learn to change your eating habits over time. Don't do some meme shit for 1, 3, or 6 months.
If you want a practical example of why you shouldn't aim to lose as fast as metabolically possible, losing quickly is immensely likely to give you massive loose skin and gallstones. It also makes you highly likely to regain but you've already coped about that enough ITT.
I'm really cravin some pizza bros, and I'm tired of makin these shitty tiny tortilla ones, I cant even cut it into a slice and it's thin af. Does anyone know any good pizza recipes for cutting? Homemade preferably, I wanna go to the grocery store tomorrow pick up the shit and make it myself.
is a tortilla pizza just tortilla with passata and cheese? sounds naff
I genuinely believe that you can't sate a taste for pizza with anything but pizza, there's just no substitute for proper cheese and tomato on a fluffy base. Making it an infrequent thing is the best you can do, second to developing coeliac disease
I know that sounds defeatist and "cucked", but this is an issue that crops up for more than one thing, and in all aspects of life. Practise moderation or go live in a monastery
Yeah, I make homemade burgers with prime beef, pulled beef nachos, fried chicken, ribs, pizza with an actual pizza oven, it never quite satisfies like maccas, kfc or even shitty dominoes. What the fuck do they put in that shit.
Yeah, make it homemade, with homemade dough, and eat fucking less of it. You can spread a 6" pizza across 2 or 3 days.
>keeping a pizza 2-3 days
>especially as they stop tasting the best after the first day
>especially as a fatass with little willpower
This is stupid. Just make a pizza to whatever size feels satisfactory to you, and then make it the only meal of the day besides shit like vegetables. Unless you do a humongous pizza (I am talking like a 50cmx50cm rectangle) you WILL be under your daily calories. But apparently Amerilards add oil to their mass-produced corporate pizzas? No wonder you have a warped sense of the caloric density of pizza (a plain homemade or restaurant made Margherita is maybe 260kcal/100g).
You're addicted to the casein in milk products. Your body converts that into casomorphins that are more addictive than some opiates. Once you accept that you're an addict, it's easier to manage and quit the cheese gains goblin.
I eat a shit ton of cheese. I had cottage cheese for breakfast. I will have pork skins and string cheese for lunch. I will have probably ground beef and provolone for dinner.
Works for me.
That's great anon. Keep those cardiologists employed and be sure to post pics so we can see all your progress.
Aside from your vegan peer group, people don't fall for that lie anymore.
My cholesterol intake is good even for somebody with family history of heart problems (mine doesn't). I started cycling less than a month ago and am already up to 24 miles at 12mph while still being obese. When I was skinny my resting heart rate was 80/60, but sure anon. I totally have cardiovascular issues.
A lying shill just replied to you. Obviously cheese isn't the problem. Carbs are the problem.
Here's a recipe for pizza that is so slimming you can eat it without calorie counting.
https://www.ketoconnect.net/no-carb-pizza/
Is losing roughly an inch of belly circumference (waist measurement) monthly about right when dropping fat? I actually got VERY lucky and found some old notes about 6 months ago where I cataloged my waist measurements and from then till now I've lost around 7 inches. Last month to this month I've dropped one inch. I'm happy to see progress but fuck I just want this belly fat to fuck off already..
is body recomp real or just a meme? thinking of doing a slight (20%) deficit with a high protein diet and SS.
One thing I don’t understand about point one is the calculation of fats/proteins/carbs into calories. Do their respective caloric equivalents get added to the base calories of something I consume? Or are they already added on? For instance if I eat something that’s 100 calories with 4 grams of carbs is that item really 116 calories?
Easiest way to stop being a fatfuck is maturing, I found, make a big change. I used to crave goyslop all the time in the middle of the night while watching movies or browsing this shithole. Now I mostly drink and smoke, don't have sugar/fat cravings anymore. Also I haven't gained any of the weight i lost 4 years ago.
tldr: stop being a manchild if you want to stay healthy, just leave your house and do something
Checking in again. Started fixing my shit on 12th of June 2022 at 134,6 kg and 173 cm. Now i am at 102,5 kg with much more muscle mass.
76kg goal here i come.
We're all gonna make it bros.
I will come back next month.
His did you lose more than 30 kg in 3 months? Fasting?
fast walking 5km and working out for 2 hours in low/medium intensity everyday in the morning. Also only eating two meals of a combined 1200cal and doing 16/8 fasting.
Also very low carb, low fat and high protein and ofc all the mikros. I rarely felt hungry once my body adjusted to it.
What kind of food are you eating? I'm a similar height to you also with a 1200kcal target but I can never hit my protein goals because my meals have too many carbs (even though it's all from veg or beans).
Your meals should be zero carb until you reach your goal weight.
I can't imagine how backed up that would make you. What about vitamins?
Red meat and eggs are the best sources of vitamins and nutrients. A red meat only diet is nutritionally complete. Eggs have all the nutrition needed to grow into a living chick. Dairy is also super nutritious. Any cheese aged over 6 months is zero carb. Homemade kefir is better than yogurt.
Better than chobani?
Isn't Chobani just yogurt? Kefir has way more strains of beneficial bacteria. I'm not nitpicking though. Any lowcarb dairy is healthy.
Yeah it's greek yoghurt without additives (unflavoured of course)
What would be the best exercise to do while very overweight if I cannot go for walks outside?
I don't want to fuck up my knees.
Are squats okay?
I don't think squats would be good. Imagine the pressure on your vascular system. Try walking, swimming or riding a bike (probably a recumbent).
Tysm for the information.
I'll likely try and use the pool at night.
The best exercise when you are not balanced is swimming IMO. There is no way to hurt yourself from your own weight with it. The heaviest animals on the planet all live in the water for a reason
swimming has the benefit of actually being cardio (walking isnt)
Amosov squats, but honestly you don't need to exercise to lose weight. You just need to eat less.
I'd just like to build strength too and do whatever I can to help my skin's condition.
Guys I haven’t lost weight in 2 weeks what do?
Basically around 3 months ago I realized that I became a fat pig: I was 106kg at 193cm - which is not THAT bad, since I also have some muscle. But still disgusting like pig.
I also had no exercise, so I made changes:
1. 3 times a week exercise, it’s either gym or swimming. Yesterday I ran for 5km that also counts but I NEVER CHEAT.
2. No more fast food.
3. No Alkohol.
4. Reduced calorie intake, but not counting calories just sane healthy food.
So far it has been going great, I am now 97,75kg. But for two weeks I have not advanced further. Do I have to change anything around? I fear I can not reasonably up the amount of exercise for now because I used to do none at all and sit on my fat all all day doing IT work. I am afraid of falling back into the old ways, and 3 hours a week is making me feel infinitely better so highest priority is to keep that what I have gained.
I thought about adding some push-ups every morning, but not sure if that would be a good idea.
I have not counted the calories but for example let me tell you what I ate yesterday:
I ate cereals for breakfast and a coffee without sugar.
I skipped lunch, and I ate a banana before running for 5km.
Then I got myself some dumplings with grilled onions, and one natural Joghurt with a spoon of strawberry jam.
I think that shouldn’t be too bad, without counting it. And that is basically the amount I normally eat.
I am 26 years old
General advice for a plateau is to stick with what you're doing for at least 3 to 4 weeks and if you're still not moving then something has to change
>cereals for breakfast
Stop eating this
Okay I will go with that thanks.
>cereals
Are they actually bad?
Like the stuff I am eating is stuff like
Bergsteiger Müsli
I am German, and I think you can not easily translate it into English, or perhaps I just do not know. Basically in German there is a distinction between Müsli and Kornflakes which are both translated as cereals, the classical cereals with a lot of sugar are the later, while what I am eating has a lot of whole oats and nuts and some sugar sweetness from fruits. It has a pretty good nutreinscore.
Not that I am making excuses, just making sure I am being clear about what exactly I am eating.
If that is also a problem, what would you suggest instead? An alternative would be to do like bread and cheese. Would that be better? I switched to cereals because I thought that was better
Yes I look if I generally have too much or okay food.
Normally I eat lots of meat, my favorite foods are steak and sushi. And I know that those are good ones that you do not go wrong with as long as you do not stuff yourself with it.
I am usually using olive oil. But again I am not deep frying them just a tiny bit of oil to get onions and meat a bit fried.
>strawberry jam
It was just one spoon, and it doesn’t even have that much sugar because I got it from my mum who always is very sparing with it. But yes normally I avoid sugar everywhere, like no Softdrinks and no sugar in coffee and stuff. Generally I only eat processed foods when I eat out, but yes you are right that this was a mistake.
Generally however I thought that it’s the amount that is most important basically you need high protein, not too little vitamins and most importantly low amount and then it will work or am I wrong about that?
I used to do zero carb diet once and it wasn’t really good for my health, as I have some issues with the gallbladder
Check some of the things for how much calories they have, every little thing must have that nowadays, so it's easy.
Plenty of stuff that plays on "healthy" has very high calorie count.
Or oils in general - a tablespoon (not a lot) ranges from 80 to 120 kcal depending on the type.
Yes that’s a good point thanks
>Fish for breakfast
That’s basically the Asian way. I thought about going with Vietnamese Pho for breakfast, that’s the best thing ever.
However I need to change my life around step by step and I know for a fact that the logistics of that would collapse my supply chain.
However I will reevaluate the nutreins of the muesli I am eating that’s a good point. Using portridge as a baseline is a good idea. I used to eat portridge only for breakfast and that got too stale after some time, but perhaps I need to change it around
>gallbladder
Yea, I ended up having mine removed because of gallstones that is also why I am not allowed to skip breakfast
>Muesli
I know what muesli is. If it's manufactured processed then I will not be eating it. Try porridge instead with a few berries.
Personally I've been skipping breakfast and having a "brunch" instead with fish or eggs and salad leaves.
>issues with the gallbladder
Dieting can effect the formation of gallstones. Small amounts of peanuts or cashew nuts can be protective. Those that had their gallbladder removed need to follow specific dietary requirements
>don't count calories
You don't have to weigh everything but at least have a ballpark estimate
>dumplings and fried onions
Are you frying with oil? What type of oil? Eat a high protein diet, eat plenty of vegetables and leafy greens. Cut out processed foods.
>strawberry jam
Stop eating refined sugars
>cereals
carbs have a lot of calories you can swap out for protein anon
>fruit is good cause it's vitamins and a tolerable snack
>fruit is bad because it has sugar
So which one?
>potatoes and rice are good because you fill up on them
>potatoes and rice are bad because they stimulate you to eat more
So which one?
>fruit is good cause it's vitamins and a tolerable snack
>fruit is bad because it has sugar
>So which one?
Both. Eat fruit in moderation and stop "snacking". Have fruit with either your breakfast or as "dessert"
>potatoes and rice are good because you fill up on them
>potatoes and rice are bad because they stimulate you to eat more
The first. Potatoes and rice are satieting. Eat them with something high in protein like chicken, beef or eggs. Eat within your calorie target and ignore "stimulation to eat more". People are obese because they react to every stimulus to eat more. The more structured your mealtimes are the less stimulus to eat more you will get
Btw but I avoid fruit because it will be filling for about an hour and then I will be hungry again.
I've been eating taters for lunch for my entire life, now I haven't had them for a month and it sucks, yeah.
Read that you should stick with green vegetables because of less carbs - since I'm trying a low carb diet.
Really confused about what is or what isn't good.
how could you stomach eating bland food every single day anon
I use a lot of different seasoning, but even then, it got boring after a month.
Using stuff like smoked paprika, masala, chili, oregano, marjoram and some others along with salt and pepper ofc.
For example, today, I had turkey strips with mixed vegetables (carrot, parsnip, lettuce, onions) seasoned with dried garlic (and salt and pepper ofc).
Or sometimes, I make a soup.
Really miss a boiled potato, but I don't want to mess up since I lasted a month already.
i'm irish
Potatoes are high on the satiety index. Eat them boiled preferably still in their skins. They are a good staple food and there should be no problem eating them everyday as long as they are part of a healthy diet.
Your main meal of the day should also include a good source of protein.
potatoes have no protein
Think he meant to eat the potatoes along with protein.
He said he's trying a lowcarb diet you rat
>Reeee, potatoes are poisonous
And I suppose unlimited animal fats are healthy?
It's a weight loss thread. Potatoes are great for bulking.
Your advice is harmful but you know that.
Are unlimited calories of animal fats healthy?
It's certainly good for weight loss and weight maintenance. Pic related.
And ketoschizo returns
Protip: contain your autism and don't respond to the moron. He will get bored and go back to youtube
The most plausible explanation is that there are plenty of liars on the internet, ketoschizo.
>low carb diet
Cut out refined sugars and processed cereals
Potatoes are fine boiled or baked. Frying potatoes dramatically increases their calorie amount.
I don't eat anything with sugar other than stuff that naturally has it, like fruits, vegetables or the milk that I pour into my coffee after I found out I really hate black one.
For cooking, I prefer to bake or boil things. Boil eggs and soups, bake meat. When preparing veggies on a pan, I only use water. When it's with meat, I use a tablespoon of olive oil and then cover the pan so the water from veggies don't evaporate away but stays for the moisture instead to prevent the meat from burning.
The most processed thing I eat is a chicken or turkey steamed ham that I buy in stores and eat for breakfast, because I don't have the time to make anything else in the morning.
I'm giving it till Christmas, if I see it works, I'll go on. If not, I'll eat pastry and shit again, because I really really miss it.
>pastries
By all means have a pastry. Have a bowl of ice-cream while your at it. But have them once a week or only on the weekend.
You don't need to keep the "all or nothing" approach, especially if you're struggling maintaining your diet. Diet breaks can help with sustainability. I think being highly restricted in your diet is very useful in the beginning and is needed to form discipline and consistency, but to forever ban yourself from ever eating certain things might not be sustainable over the long term.
If you can march on without pastries then fine, more power to you, if you're struggling then have a break at the weekend (within maintenance calories or a small surplus).
This guy doesn't know the difference between you're and your. So we know for sure he's an imbecile.
He also hasn't posted body. So he's probably fat.
Bad advice from a bad person.
Carbs are fattening. No reason to eat them.
I eat them because entirely avoiding them tends to be expensive and annoying. Plus alcohol.
Lol. I'm down 10lbs per month consistently and have never had under 50g of carbs a day during that time. No keto, no fasting, just 1500 kcals day in and day out.
Potato is perfectly healthy. The fat and sauces you're eating with them aren't. Not hard to grok.
>if I wake up hungry I have generally not lost weight
>if I don't wake up hungry I have generally lost weight
Why is this? Should I wait to stop feeling hungry in the morning before I eat breakfast?
Also 3 months in, down 30lbs, and weighed in at the exact threshold between overweight and obese. 0.1lb less and I would be 29.9bmi.
That's fucked up anon. The opposite is actually the truth. If you're always waking up hungry, you should be losing weight. You're probably just fucking up and seeing water and salt weight on the scale.
When you're not hungry your body is burning fat. When you're hungry it means your insulin is high (you ate carbs) which blocks fat burning.
The key to sustainable weight loss is never being hungry.
This is opposite of reality. Hunger means guaranteed diet failure.
unlimited calories is good for weight loss?
why didn't anybody tell me??!?!
Yes unlimited calories. You should aim to eat about 70% animal fats though.
Unlimited amounts of cheese and fatty beef is probably the best food for sustainable long term health, and you can eat it everyday
not really a fan of cheese
what else is there
Anything without carbs.
Red meat and eggs are ideal.
does rice have carbs, I could eat rice every day
Yeah rice is carbs. Don't eat any grains unless you're bulking.
there must be at least on fatty who lost weight on rice
how did they do it? did they lie and just eat cheese?
Most weight loss attempts fail. The more carbs you eat the more likely you are to fail. If you want to succeed easily, zero carb is key.
if it's between 6 months of nothing but cheese and meat or 12+ months of rice, veg, fruit and nuts then I'll probably take the hit on time just to stay sane throughout
thanks though, wagmi
Yeah when you're addicted to carbs the idea of quitting seems impossible.
The choice is really between success and failure. You aren't going to succeed, but slower. You actually won't succeed at all.
are you saying it's impossible to permanently lose weight on anything but a zero carb diet?
Ignore the ketoschizo, bro.
Why would someone ignore a guy who posted body? He's lean.
Post body if you think your advice is better.
It's impossible to lose weight without fixing the hormone imbalance which is the source of obesity. Avoiding carbohydrates fixes the hormone imbalance.
is that a yes? why are you being cryptic all of a sudden
Bro, stop giving him (You)s. You just encourage his gayry
Because stating his actual beliefs in a clear and concise manner would leave him open to having his beliefs refuted. Easier to refuse to give anybody something to argue against.
Carbohydrate is fattening.
Is that clear and concise enough?
How drastic the intervention needs to be depends on the individual.
Once you understand the source of the problem (i.e. hormonal response to food) you can take many approaches.
1. Reducing carbs
2. Replacing refined with unrefined carbs
3. Exercise after eating
4. Eating less frequently
Knowledge is power. I'd just cut all carbs because why pussyfoot around? But do what suits you.
>The choice is really between success and failure.
you said that 20 minutes ago, it's binary between eating carbs or quitting carbs
now it's a sliding scale? I CAN succeed on rice?
You're probably not going to succeed at all. The more rice you eat the less likely you will succeed.
Think about moving from point A to point B. You should travel towards your destination, right? Eating rice is like moving away from your destination.
so it is binary, reducing carbs won't help, only eliminating them
tell him to get his facts straight
Generally, to actually burn fat you need to have a ratio of fats to carbs of at least 2:1, or a number of carbs so little that it has a similar effect. In the latter case, under 20 works.
That makes literally no sense. Actual ketosis doesn't start until <5% calories from carbs, ~70% from fat. So you aren't restricting carbs enough to be keto, and if you aren't restricting calories enough to be at a deficit. You can still burn fat with high ish carbs so long as you aren't in rabbit starvation, are eating enough protein to not atrophy, and are constricting your calories.
