2. having spent some time eating this diet, I can tell people can get a lot of calories through dates / bananas / mangos, especially through smoothies—at least 2500-3000. other high carb, almost zero fat diets allow this too. however, I think there's truth to what they say about how it's hard for your body to synthesize fat from carbs. if you have fat AND carbs in your diet, it mostly just stores the fat and doesn't convert anything. but if it has almost NO fat, you need to first convert carbs to fat, which is inefficient.

very domesticated fruits like bananas, hybrids like peaches, and other high sugar fruits are a very recent thing in human history. They are just sweet and barely taste like fruit. I grow my own fruits and they are all old varities that are very nutritiois. If I eat too many of my wild sour cherries they will start to taste bitter because my body is telling me I have too much iron. Same thing happens with eating plants like nettle. There is no way to sustain just eating fruit, you gotta get nuts, grasses, and roots too. I also think you should be eating local foods, if u european dont eat bananas and avocados or tropical foods.
