nta it sounds suHispanicious and like it's just bullshit but its actually true, at least if you become a raw vegan. I've even been fruitarian for a while and it's almost ridiculous how the stress all kind of just flows away from you. Becoming a lot thinner and losing some muscle might be a part of what I experienced though.

A downside is that while you are relaxed and in a good mood, there's a balance to be had. When you become too relaxed you let things slide, you are not as motivated to improve yourself in other ways. You're less competitive, you take on less battles.

lol vegan is slowly dying of b12 deficiency

B12 is very easy to supplement and is even in plant milk and lots of other ingredients nowadays. More omnivores have a b12 deficiency than vegans in the current day. Mine has been very high after 10 years of veganism every time I get a yearly check up.

Some Buddhists believe that other animals can detect when you are a carnivore and treat you like a predator

    > be years ago in college
    > trying out vegetarianism for a few months because Mahayana Buddhism is dope
    > after a few months of no meat, I step outside during work for a break
    > a monarch butterfly is flitting around me
    > stick out my finger on the off chance it will do something
    > it_lands.jpeg
    > begin to marvel at nature and how we are all connected
    > after a few minutes, butterfly flits away

I gave up vegetarianism a few months after that and it’s been years that I still eat meat, but I really do think Buddhists are onto something and probably understand nature more than the western world

i have this idea that if i consume meat, i'm consuming part of the stress the animal had gone thru.
maybe i'm going schizo idk haha.
i'm planning on just running, cycling, doing yoga and maybe planks and handstands
      i don't mind losing muscle.

It's true. Animals have a keen sense of seeing another's intent. It's why your dog can tell if you're sick or stress before you realize it.

Vegetarians live longer, smell better, have better sex and less ED, and a higher IQ.

I've been vegan for 4 years now and very rarely do I find myself getting anywhere close to being angry. Like when people say 'don't let the small stuff bother you' I find that it doesn't any more. But I don't think it's veganism alone that brought this on but general lifestyle changes over the last 4-5 years (counselling, new job, consistent gym, more social).

I imagine everyone has this small feeling of conflicting thoughts when they eat meat, even if it's just sometimes. So from that point of view of being able to live without that on my mind, not having to justify it to myself, I think it makes me more calm or at peace throughout the day. Or something like that.

I've been vegan for a several-year stretch, so I can speak from experience. Veganism does give you spirituality gains in the short term, but it's unsustainable in the long term; it leads to muscle wasting, emaciation, and eventually mental illness. That's because plants don't have a bunch of nutrients like cholesterol and creatine.

So why does veganism allow for more spiritual growth in the short term? My theory is that, since we are biological carnivores, eating nothing but plant foods puts our body into starvation mode (also known as fasting). Virtually every religion in the world agrees that fasting is helpful, perhaps even necessary, for spiritual growth. Why? Who knows. Perhaps the lack of digestive demand allows your body to direct more resources toward healing and clear thought. Perhaps in losing weight, you expel toxins stored in your tissues (especially in your fat), thus cleansing your body. Perhaps ketosis is the natural state of the human body, and it affords clarity and mindfulness.

Tl;dr - if you're going to try veganism for spirituality gains, don't do it long-term. And it might even be better to straight-up fast instead.
