A balanced routine of weightlifting/calisthenics along with quick explosive movements and middle distance running is best for aesthetics combined with functionality.
All climbers and rooners are lean as fuck. You get muscles for the sake of having muscles. If you actually want to be extremely good at a movement you'll have to get hyper lean because that's our natural body shape.
Yeah, I know, I wish I could just do the fast interval stuff, but that’s not how it works unfortunately. I run a 10k in little under an hour multiple times a week. It’s just kinda boring.
>he runs a marathon at your 400m pace
I'm pretty sure he runs a marathon faster than anyone on IST's 400m pace really. The dude is fucking nuts (as are all super elite marathoners). 4:34 minute mile in his record, for 26.2 miles. Even if you only count competition times, at 2:02:40 that's still only six more seconds per mile.
>I'm pretty sure he runs a marathon faster than anyone on IST's 400m pace really.
His marathon pace is just under 70 sec 400m I believe. I’m pretty sure there are guys on IST who can pull off an all-out 400 faster than that.
These dudes probably have insane energy and wind to do just about anything
Imagine having sex with your wife and she's already had an orgasm but you can easily go on for another two hours because you have all this energy from your heart and breathing

So a fighter?
Yes.

To get good at middle distance you have to run long distance :/
Okay, and?? If you train long distance a couple times a week it isnt going to demolish your gains unless you have the diet of a subsaharan african

The opposite. Being elite means you're on the brink of overtraining almost constantly. It's better than being an amerifat but what isn't
I would hope most ‘fit’ individuals can pull out a 65 second 400. Maybe this board really is full to the brim of powerlarders though
I ran a 51 so probably not

As is every physically demanding sport at the top.

all of them could beat cardioshitters to a pulp every day
>inb4 cardioshitters can just run from the fight
funny thing is they can just run away. all day. for miles and miles. you cant hit what you cant catch.
