Why would evolution create a species that could never attain a species appropriate diet until hundreds of thousands of year into the future when companies are finally able to create plant based resist capitalism edible cubes? It's not logical unless evolution is wrong.

Evolution doesn’t care how long you live. After your peak reproductive ages you are worthless

There's no peak for men in that case. Even men into very mature ages can still impregnate women. It's women who suddenly loose much of their fertility as soon as they hit 27

But inappropriate food leads to a weak infertile person. Why would evolution not give us the gut enzymes or teeth to process grass so we can raise happy healthy babies from the start? Thank Fauci for imported Spirulina capsules.

        >Evolution doesn’t care how long you live
Why not? People who live longer can take care of their children for longer and acquire more resources
        Then longevity is selected for

          >Then longevity is selected for
That is true, but only to a certain extent. In any case there is no reason to think the ancestral diet is the one that is optimal for longevity.

            >In any case there is no reason to think the ancestral diet is the one that is optimal for longevity.
There is. Ancestral diet (whatever it is, probably varies a lot depending on your genetics) is the one where our organism as is spent the most time consuming, so logically it's the most likely one for us to be adapted toward.

            >Then longevity is selected for
When you choose a partner you can't tell how long they will live.
There is no way to select for it

            >When you choose a partner you can't tell how long they will live.
Why does it matter? Not talking about sexual selection here.
If people who had longevity were more succesful overall than people with less longevity, it would be selected for

So you're saying, it doesn't matter that x population of humans ate y diet for thousands of years. It would have no impact on how adapted they are to the diet?
This makes no sense. We can see in dogs organisms quickly adapt to diet, compared to wolves dogs can eat way more plant matter because of how they were fed by humans.

                >It would have no impact on how adapted they are to the diet

              How?
There is no method for someone who lives longer to pass on those genes any more than someone of average lifespan.

Yes there is. There's probably multiple ways but let me think of a couple here

                Example 1:
Person 1 Has 4 children and lives to 50 years old in good health and dies at 60. He cared for his children for a long time assisting them and all 4 of them passed on his genes.
Person 2 Also has 4 children but his health started to decline at 30 and he died at 40. His children had less support from his parent and only 2 of them passed on their genes.
                Longevity selected for.

                >Example 2
Male lives up to 70 and has multilple children throughout his 40s, 50s and 60s. Someone who died in his 40 had less chances to pass on genes. Longevity selected for.
It can seem far fatched but many very successful males did exactly this, having children in their old age with younger women.

                >It would have no impact on how adapted they are to the diet
I’m saying it wouldn’t by necessity be the best for longevity.

Ok, but how is it not logical that the diet the organism is most adapted towards would be the most likely one to be optimal for health

                >Ok, but how is it not logical that the diet the organism is most adapted towards would be the most likely one to be optimal for health
As previously stated, natural selection doesn’t care how long you live. Maybe fatty meat was the best source of calories to get you to reproductive ages. But that doesn’t mean it will help you to live past 60

                >As previously stated, natural selection doesn’t care how long you live
I just made arguments against that.
Anyways so you're arguing here that a diet is ideal for short term health isn't necessarily the best for longevity? I guess it's possible but I don't see how or why it would be the case, as if meat is some type of steroid

Where do edible plants naturally grow in vast uniform monocrops that would allow for say a hunter gatherer tribe of 40-60 individuals to sustain themselves indefinitely on those calories alone? Science has betrayed us dear comrade.
