That sudden realization of
>Why tf am I training like a power lifter?
Happened to me when I was doing squats and felt very stupid just putting the plates on the bar.

Yup. Felt the same way. Now I do mostly Calisthenics and actually feel like I have functional strength
Same here boys. I slowly started to realize that I didn't actually care about strength goals. I do a mixture of hypertrophy and progressive calisthenics now.
Same. I bench 1.5, squat 2pl8, dl 4pl8 and I could easily increase those numbers but what is the point? Arbitrary numbers don't mean anything to me anymore. I'm more impressed by the guys that can transition between different holds on a set of straight bars
Based as fuck. For me it's guys and gals that can twist their bodies in the air
What are you repping on these? If it’s 6-10 (besides the deadlift) that’s respectable. If those are your max’s (besides the deadlift) you can do better.
I do 3x5. I don't care for bigger numbers. It doesn't help my functional calisthenic strength in the slightest
>calisthenic strength
Dude, just stop. Lmao
How many true single leg squats can you do?
>functional strength
Yes, because everyone ends up having to do single leg squats. Lmao
>functional strength
You mean being dyel?
Not him but strength obtained during bodybuilding training feels more accessible in day-to day life because you're building work capacity and strength-endurance. You're also not fatigued from constantly lifting near limit-strength.
My lifts didn't really drop
But my bmi did
I am no longer obese 🙂
My doctor says my heart is looking clean too!
I will reach the 260/180/300kg SBD natty and lean while you do curls to failure with permanently small arms.
>natty and lean
>those numbers
Oof
seethe
nah you wont
kek you are fat and i am not
Yeah I think i will.
Thats fine. I respect your goals. I will achieve handstand pushups, one arm chins and multiple series of handsprings and backflips @200lbs.
> functional strength
There is no such thing "functional" is just a buzz world fitness influencers use to sell you overpriced programs, and anyone that actually uses it you can already tell they are dyel AF
Fucking clowns, I swear
You're not a powelifter until you go beyond 1 2 3 4
"hypertrophy" is after you meet the minimum strength standard
The stronger you are, the more you do for high reps
Please fuck off and go back
Actually you're not a powerlifter until you go beyond
2 3 4 5
Fair but you're lifting like a powerlifter after 1 2 3 4
Until then you're working toward a general standard
Based. Take the kettlebellpill and join the rest of us in Otterland.
I recently added kb snatches to my workout as a 10 min emom block. Quickly becoming by fav.
Yah, I had the same realization a few months ago. Now my program is a few exercises with high applications and balancing between max strength, strength endurance, and cardio. Just easy workouts that make the body work better.
Are you dumb enough to not include both?
Do main lift like a powershitter and all the rest like a bodyshitter. It's that easy. Add some high% low rep work for strength gain every now and then and rest of the shit is same.
Don't do 5x5 Deadlifts and squats and leave like mark naggertoe who looks like a kid that never grew past of age 5
just throw in a day of higher reps. for me, my ideal would be two days per week of 5x5, and one day of gymnast rings or equivalent calisthenics
powershitters BTFO
Years ago. Its a decent start for most people but at some point you just realize pump and isolation are your two best friends
Yea when you start pinning
Like your quack homosexual doctor knows anything
Hey man. If anyone ever needs a perfectly balanced and grippable bar taken from the ground to waist height and back to the ground, I'll be the one they call.
