It's good for building back and hip strength. As long as you're not pushing it to the limit then it's a safe lift that you can benefit from. If your goals are just to look good though and not to be as strong as possible you'd be better off doing RDLs and good mornings.
You are forgetting chin ups, dips and front squats if you want to look good, imo front squats are better hypertrophy wise and posture correction than back squats and allow you to use them for real situations.
because i want to be a freak of nature. I want to lift 700 pounds.
I want everyone to look at me when im lifting 700 pounds.
I want to make way too much noise far beyond whats socially accepted while liftin 700 pounds. I want everyone to stare at me while i am lifting 700 pounds. That is the point you fucking dork.
>warming up for ohp with the bar >scrawny 175cm 70kg guy doing 200kg copestyle sumo deadlift, dropping weights and acting tough at the gym, looks around as if he mogged everyone, gives me a smug look >goes on to continue on OHP, struggles with working sets of 55kg x 5 >meanwhile I work up to triples with 100kg strict >see him suddenly appearing self conscious
Don't be that guy
The thing was that he was acting tough about a 4.5pl8 deadlift, and sumo at that. I don't think of anything under 300kg as impressive, but at the same time it's fine if people don't go heavy on them. It's cringe if a stick tries to think that having a mid deadlift somehow makes them muscular though, when honestly there's bigger guys at my gym that don't even go over 2pl8 on deadlifts
I didn't say that. Just that there's decently muscular guys at the gym that don't go heavy. If they tried and were willing to take the risks associated with the lift, they could probably reach 200+ kg pretty quickly. But for people that focus on getting stronger on the lift, I do indeed say that anything sub 300kg is not impressive as I've seen skinny people and women with good levers lift it, especially with sumo. You can go on youtube and find dyel guys with 14" arms pulling 5-6pl8 easily, sometimes even 7pl8 like that dyel Max Chewning
You have never seen a woman pull 300kg sumo. Also you’ve never seen a woman’s vagina in real life, so you should probably stick to your “big and muscular guys”. I’ll stick to my deadlifts.
>decent for strength
In which areas tho?
I saw a lot more carryover to other exercises from high bar squats in the 3 - 6 rep range than from deadlifts.
If you do weighted pull ups/chin ups deadlifts can be a problem to program correctly.
soreness, I think it might be doms. I've only been doing deadlifts for a few weeks and this is the heaviest I've done, but still within my limits. I looked up deadlift back pain and it said this type of aching can be normal when you're first starting out. guess I'll see if it disappears in the next couple of weeks.
also getting down into position in the mirror my lower back looks straight and I don't feel any rounding when I do the lift.
Before atlas stones, sandbags, and other similar implements were more easily available, it was a highly practical way to improve your ability to pick things up from the ground. If you can't understand the utility in that, go back to your desk chair and wait to die.
Okay retards who think they will need to lift a 400 pound couch when they are helping their friend move, have you ever tried walking the weight?
Just do farmer carries

because the deadlift and dips are comparable exercises
correct, that's what he said. any you a smart little cookie
but he didn't
>good for hip strength
so you can...deadlift more? whats the fucking point
>t. has never done anything remotely athletic in their life
You never wondered why you see virtually every type of athlete deadlifiting anon?
you aren't an athlete and don't do anything athletic, though
and in fact, even the possibility of doing athletic things is more or less removed from normal people after high school years
what do you do that's athletic? nothing. unless youre like 16
He's playing footy with boomers in the local sunday leagues.
i posted this 15 minutes ago and no response, lol
25* typo
Athletes do a bunch of meme shit and work out for hours while on gear.
Ever wondered why you're not an athlete?

>implying anyone will mire the easiest lift
No one will care unless you break 1000lbs
I prefer rack pulls
>so what is the point of a deadlift
Reaching the natty limit.
holy fuck manlets are fucked
Say it to my face.
Fuck imagine being natty limit and lighter than lot of girls
and shorter
If she weighs more than 60shes a landwhale
Only siths deal in absolutes. Appropriate female weight is even more dependent on height than male. 60kg 140cm will look worse than 70kg 175cm
People who can't deadlift a lot don't see the point of deadlifts. And water is wet, nigga.
Grass is greener on the other side more like it fucker.
to impress other gay men and give yourself back problems

Don't be that guy
don't be either guy
Youre schizo for analzying a random fag that hard
No one cares about your strength if you are fat
He probably finished his workout, stop being delusional thinking he left because of you
I'm 12% bodyfat with defined abs

>muh 3x100kg with perfect form

200 kg it's a lot for manlet with t. rex arms aka me

It's called fake weights anon, plenty of youtubers do it, even Jeff Cavshit.
>100kg for triples on deadlifts
That's really weak.
With right form it's decent for strength
With wrong Form, like I see 90% of zoomers in gym doing it, its sure way ticket to snap city
>decent for strength
In which areas tho?

For picking shit off the ground. Conventional deadlift is one of the most beneficial movement for every day life.
>picking shit off the ground
Squats.
>one of the most beneficial movement for every day life
Because...?
shit off the ground
>Squats.
You're fucking retarded. Deadlift is LITERALLY picking something up off the ground.
>I pick things up only to the level of my hips and do it stationary
Retarded dyel lmao
I pull 4pl8s so I can see the point of deadlifts.
imagine someone over 11 out there actually thinking that twink can lift over 4pl8 holy shit.
is it normal for my lower back to ache slightly after deadlifting, or is it a sign of poor form? it's not painful, I can still bend over completely.
You’re the best person to know. Is it a soreness type of ache or a something is wrong type of ache?
soreness, I think it might be doms. I've only been doing deadlifts for a few weeks and this is the heaviest I've done, but still within my limits. what kind of life are you fags living where you never have to pick up anything heavy off the floor
Before atlas stones, sandbags, and other similar implements were more easily available, it was a highly practical way to improve your ability to pick things up from the ground. If you can't understand the utility in that, go back to your desk chair and wait to die.

>we've moved beyond twitter screencap threads into screencaps of fucking instagram reel comments
This website needs to be nuked. Zoomers have lost the plot and driven us off course.
To lift the dead
Technically there is no point in lifting in general
I do deadlifts because they're fun
to.. lift the deadweight
