So I ve been doing this exercise lately and I worry it might be dangerous

Could it dislocate my jaw?I feel everything cracking sometimes.
Picture a guy opening his mouth as much as he can and the closing it as quickly as he can for 20 reps.

If your jaw frequently cracks when opening, go to a fucking doctor. It started with me many many years ago, I ignored it of course and now I have fucking tinnitus because of it.

Get it checked. It may be nothing, it may be related to wisdom tooth, might be related if you clench your jaw/grind teeth in your sleep too hard, it may be TMD. Depends on how severe it is. Still, it may lead to worse.

Is tmj actually a problem? My jaw has been popping when I open it for years.

Not him, but it may or may not become an issue later on. It started with me in my early 20s. I ignored it and it became tinnitus in my 30s.

Yes you can. Dislocated myself it once by doing breathing exercises. Took me like an hour to figure out how to push it back in place with my thumb.
