> Having suffered from severe depression for over forty years, this reminds me of when I was 17, 18, etc. and suddenly discovered that if I stayed up for two days, the problem went away. So I knew this a very long time ago; but it always seemed to me that, besides smoking, this was just about one of the worst habits you could develop. By my mid-twenties, I had stopped.

some ivy league student died from a heart attack after drinking "charged" lemonade from panera. Family is suing panera for mislabeling the product. Anyone with half a brain can deduce that the ivy league student followed the science™ and got jabbed like a good goy. Peer review means shit
This only happens because being dead tired numbs your emotions. I find myself less stressed when sleep deprived because my mental faculties suffer too heavily to properly feel emotion. I doubt it rewires shit, it's more of a temporary change due to disfunction.
Maybe according to the study but not according to my experience. I don't feel anything that would indicate a rush of dopamine. Or anything at all really. I imagine it's what people on anti depressants feel like.
Fear not sleepbro, a study has just been released saying that even a one (1) percent (%) increase in sleep statistically reduces dementia and alzheimer's disease. It's believed that during deep sleep gunk/trash proteins created by the brain during the day that cause alzheimers are all cleaned up.
Elonbros, Jockobros and that one mentally ill Onassis poster are all on suicide watch.
As for this study you just posted, well yeah, when the body is under extreme stress depression tends to go away. Same as if you get into a car with a crazy person driving and nearly die - the depression gets momentarily replaced. A lot of street drugs work on a simliar principle of helping you not be depressed because you're just blown the fuck out of it and can't think straight.
This is one of those things I imagine is useful for like short term depression and not so much clinical depression. The same way there's a lot of things that are useful for short term test boosts but very few that keep it significantly elevated for enough time for it to matter.

No, skipping a night of sleep increases dopamine massively.
I've skipped nights of sleeping and have never felt any type of dopamine increase, just numbness like other anons ITT.
Are you depressed?

less depression, more anger

please tell me he's still here, I haven't been on this board since he began his rampage
sleep is important but sometimes you'll get those 4-6hr days and you just roll with it. don't worry about it so much but don't just leave it alone
I noticed that my hornyness is through the roof when I don't sleep or sleep very little
IT's the dopamine surge.
meth bros we are so back

Fuck that the older I get the more no sleep fucks with me. And ironically the older I get the less sleep I get
I don't care, I don't have depression.
These retards needed a whole study they should've just asked me I could've told them the same thing. I've been doing this for years.
This works the same way depression meds do because it turns you into a retarded, braindead zombie
I’ll be getting 8 hours tonight because I don’t have depression. Get fucked OP.
>often have sleepless nights
>most depressed man on terrafirma
Guys I think this might be boogus
You have to stay up and skip an entire night of sleep, not go to bed and toss and turn. Even sleeping for 10 minutes ruins the effect.
