I want to learn how to fight or at least defend myself in a street fight. I realised having all this muscle isn't much good if I can't utilise it. I know a little bit of boxing, but I want to learn a martial art of some form so I can have a greater advantage. There's a krav maga class near me I was thinking of checking out but I've heard conflicting opinions on whether krav maga is actually useful or not.
What martial arts are best for self defense?
Boxing, wrestling, running, and CCW with dry fire practice will set you up. Krav maga is mostly larping. Maybe better than absolutely nothing but mostly hand waving
How much running can I do without hurting my gains?
you dont lose gains from cardio. you would need a COLOSSAL amount of cardio.
Most effective self-defense in order
>don't live around nigs/lebs
>don't frequent venues which attract nigs/lebs
>situational awareness
>a good 800m time
>ccw
>some other concealed weapon
>boxing/muay thai + bjj/judo/wrestling
>power gap
>sport styles
>power gap
>tacticool commando LARP
>power gap
>i just go black bro
>power gap
>chi magic and chinese ethnic dances
>power gap
go for where would hurt most
>balls
>eyes
>throat
>sides
theres no rules when youre fighting for your life.
>i can't land a jab so going for a much smaller target while having zero fine motor skills due to an adrenaline dump is surely a good idea
no
>t. been kicked in the balls and eye gouged, it didn't save him
Anything with full contact competition
The go-tos are
MMA
Boxing
Judo
BJJ
Wrestling
Muay Thai
Anything substantially similar to the above would also count, but will often be harder to find or have a much smaller hobbyist circuit than the above. This is to answer the "what about Sambo?" "What about K-1 rules?"
I've been donkey-kicked in the nuts from an uchimata attempt. It didn't stop me from countering and pinning for the win.
>MMA
thats not really a thing its mixed so it can be anything. its like saying eat calories. or have i lost my larping mind?
MMA is a distinct sport with distinct rules and distinct techniques (ground & pound, wall walking), and distinct training. It's been around for 30 years; at this point, there are professionals that have trained MMA as their primary sport. If a judoka goes and boxes for 2 years, he may know a mix of styles - but he is not a mixed martial artist.
Boxing and BJJ, or any sort of grappling. However, the best advice is to leave when you can.
BJJ + striking of your choice (boxing, Muay Thai)
literally just go to a bunch of different gyms and see which one you like best. many martial arts gyms like to have a free week trial which you should take advantage of. the best gyms are the ones that priorotize helping you rather than making money
boxing and judo are the fastest ones to learn and judo transfer well into bbj or muai thai
>judo
>fast to learn
Based LARPer
takes 2 years and you can stomp the average man.
2 years isn't fast m8. 6 mo boxing or muay thai and you're good for the vast majority of reasonable situations
>2 years isn't fast m8
id disagree. i don't think you can learn enough to deal with a real fight sub two years. and i mean dominate not get a jab in and get lucky.
Check out some worldstar. You vastly overestimate normies
Boxing, Muay Thai, BJJ, and Wrestling, are the quickest ways to become dangerous in a fight. Most everything else is a meme.
> Two years is a short amount of time to learn a martial art
A few months in boxing and you would already be way above average.
Yes retard those places do in fact hurt but you cannot just suddenly poke someone in the eye or kick someone in the groin perfectly with zero training and when you suddenly find yourself in a stressful self defense situation. You have to actually practice punching and kicking first.
>good
wow
Kickboxing and/or muay thai, combo with bjj and/or wrestling so you can strike and grapple
but honestly best thing is to run, if you can dash 500-800m very fast most normies will give up chase or you will put enough distance between you and them that you can probably just turn a corner and jook them, best thing to do is try and de agro until youve gained enough xp
yeah, cardio is MASSIVE the average normie will get winded after 1 min or 5 swings.
well i run and do kickboxing, it´s hard but life is even harder if youre some fat fuck who´s pretty much defenseless like a woman
What are the safest?
>thai
>boxing
>kickboxing
>wrestling
>bjj
Most self defense classes are bullshit. Creating and maintaining distance between you and a aggressor is the most effective form of defence
get hurt, study the law, make them pay real money!
