Well I did a 6 day PPL and I really tried pushing progression (maybe a bit too much) and burned out after 9 weeks. I was planning to run it for 12 weeks but couldn't even complete week 10 properly as I got noticeably weaker. I did a deload and switched to low volume for a while, then took my PPL routine and turned it into a 4 day U/L and I can handle this a lot better. To me it's the best of both worlds, I still hit each muscle twice a week, each session is manageable and I have 2 more days for recovery. I still think PPL is great but if I was to do it again I would probably increase weights less frequently. With U/L I don't really have that problem.

it's more a failure to program effectively rather than a failure of the routine. I do almost everything depending what programming block I'm on. PPLx on high volume low intensity blocks, ULUxLULx on medium intensity medium volume blocks, fullbodies on high intensity low volume blocks. It's just easier to not try to fit every type of training into one type of schedule.
The Ultimate Mogger Routine
Day 1. 3 & 5 Chin Ups + Bench Press
Day 2 & 6 Jump Rope + Deadlift (Warm up + 3 85% or so pulls.)
Day 4 Zercher Squats and Cheat Curls.
Day 5 Overhead Press.
Day 7 Rest and Stretch.
You just don't care about established routines, you care about mogging people with your physical figure and strength alone, fuck em all. Show them the feats of strength and athletics and make pussies wet.
That's it. Alternate every other day. You can do cardio, flexibility, rehab, neck, masturbate in between days, but this is it, no other bullshit necessary. No need to argue, you are wrong anyway.
The ppl split is not that great, especially if you're an intermediate lifter. You can only get so far with a standard ppl. At some point you need to prioritise muscle groups such as chest, shoulders and arms if you wanna go past your plateau. Thats why I still do ppl but chest(push) arms (pull) shoulders(push) and back(pull).
Just find whatever gives you the best results and stick with it instead of forcing yourself to follow some cookie cutter meme program just because some retard on the internet told you

And all that under assumption that your diet and sleep is basically perfect - which for someone with job/college friends, etc. isn't always true.
But again, if it works for you do it, don't listen to me.

I'm tallking college athletes, they barely have time to rest. They train and live with soreness all day long. Also, fit's demographics consist of mainly 2x yo.
PPL is only good for intermediate or advanced stages, it allows you to lift heavy without being exhausted the next two days.
A beginner, which the majority of fit is, should do a full-body program three times a week.

DL, climb, squat, climb, bench, rest and repeat. the climbing helps work core and helps work back instead of doing OHPs.
