idk. i boulder and climb a lot. my push has always dogshit compared to my pulls even when i was lifting. seems to me that my weakest point is lateral/front and its affecting my overall shoulder stability. sad state of affairs tbqh.
either way though, ill take a look and see where i need to improve.
every seated lift with a standing variation is just wasting free stabilizer/core/general strength gains for no reason >muh increased overload

the answer is literally both, you start with strict, controlled reps and begin to cheat as you approach/push past failure.

Thanks OP, I'm a big fan of lateral raises but this never occurred to me. I'll be sure to replace my standing raises with sitting ones tomorrow.
