Yes, and yes. I won't go too spiritual cause if you don't understand it you'll just think I'm a schizo and dismiss me, but basically meditation is the key to understanding yourself and ascending. Refine your mind as well as your body.
I wish he would elaborate. Do you have any experiences with the spiritual side anon?
I have felt the benefits of believing that I am drawing “spiritual” energy from my environment or from the universal “oneness”. For example, I have a long bus ride to work. I will often get into a meditative state and “draw” positive energy from the universe, like Goku charging a spirit bomb. I can feel the power invigorate me. It gives me a lasting, positive mood that I can benefit from all day long
True spirituality consists in discovering your true nature which is "beyond" the person you think you are and beyond whatever experiential phenomena is currently manifested. Our true nature/being exists "outside" time and space, it is that in which time and space manifests. Our true being doesn't age, it is dimensionless and it can't be quantified or observed objectively. It doesn't manifest in the physical world as an object that science can study. The human aspect, or condition, is an experience that unlimited being has, but only the formless and timeless being has or can have any real existence, experience or life. Words like consciousness, awareness, soul or subjectivity (or the feeling of "I am") if investigated introspectively can act as portals into this deeper reality that is our true being into which the person, self or ego is eventually absorbed by engaging in spiritual practice, although we are already absorbed into it since the existence of separate entities or selves is an illusion. Spiritual practice consists of removing habitual psychological and conceptual obstacles that keep us shackled to the perception of ourselves as limited, mortal physical beings that need to strive for fulfillment in the objective world when fulfillment is already and always has been present, in the sense that our true being is by nature eternally and completely at peace, and it can never be otherwise.
I think it is the opposite. All day long you are bombarded with messages, apparent and subliminal, that fester in your brain. Through emptiness, unsettling as it may be at first, you help rid yourself of these "demons".
You dont think anything, but just dont focus on your thoughts but the moments in between. Gives your mind a break and sometimes also a brrakthrough, when Something is bothering you the whole day.
I tried meditating a bit every now and then, but the last two times I did it I would see in monochrome after opening my eyes. I was able to control to intensity and duration at will and it would last for something like 5-40 seconds. I have not meditated since then. I was also breathing in incense during both sessions.
>for depression
Hones your ability to let go of intrusive thoughts and avoid rumination. Very good for instilling confidence that thoughts can be controlled, and some thoughts are just the byproduct of automatic thinking gone unchecked, and that they aren't necessarily damning and shouldn't cause undue anxiety >for adhd
Hones your ability to focus and trains you to recognize and discard distractions >for sleep
Gives you the ability to enter a relaxed state consciously, makes falling asleep much faster and much easier to put into a consistent routine >for religion/spirituality
I find that meditation puts me in a state of mind that makes me more contemplative and more receptive to spiritual impressions. I don't use meditation as a conduit for spirituality but I do meditate before I pray. >for exercise
Practice with conscious, full breathing is good if you can carry it over to your other exercise >for art
I mostly do mindfulness meditation but occasionally I do pic related (1/2) because it helps me switch to image based thinking easier. Its essentially training you to deliberately switch over to right brain thinking which has made art easier for me.
I haven’t been doing it lately, but thank you for this thread to remind me to start up again. Not only is it a great way to sleep, but I wake up feeling much more refreshed and focused for the day.
I use the Calm app, which is pretty good especially if you’re a beginner. It has some great guided meditations for different purposes, like if you’re trying to clear your mind to sleep, motivating yourself in the morning, need a boost of energy midday, etc.
I use meditation to help keep me on a good diet. I have a horrible sweet tooth and left to my own devices will eat shit tons of sour candy and fruit snacks without a second thought.
I'm doing PSMF to help nuke my taste buds into an actual human diet. When I get the craving for candy/soda, or im being led into an emotional state where I'm more likely to binge, I take 5 minutes, focus on breath and try to find more presence in the moment.
Yes. It helps me find some peace moment to moment by letting thoughts and feelings come and go without giving them attention. Can help in falling asleep. It's a practice you need to stay up on though.

Sounds great anon, how long have you been meditating?
Please elaborate, I won't think you're schizo since I also practice spirituality and I know why you think you'll sound schizo.

>dude, just think about nothing and do nothing
Meditation is a demon's invitation.

You might get weird stuff but it's due to mindset. Mediation is key to maintaining an equilibrium between the physical and spiritual.
I actually summoned a demon. And then a plasma disk.

devil gets bored when you sit and do nothing and leaves eventually
It actually works sign up for a 10 meditation retreat.
Yes. Work out the mind like you work out the body.
meditation is training focus. you are pretty delusional to with your "EVERYTHING THAT IS NOT MY STREAM OF CHRISTIANITY IS OF DA DEBIL"
>EVERYTHING THAT IS NOT MY STREAM OF CHRISTIANITY IS OF DA DEBIL
Yes. Seek God, weeb chud.
Stop avatarfagging

I'll post some of my experiences with it.

Dearest anon, where is this source from?
This is from Alfred Orage's Dying Daily exercise.
How do you find it online? I can’t find it when I search his name and the title
