Hang the weight over one shoulder and across your body. I'm 6'3'' and that works for me.
Might be uncomfortable when I'm past 1 plate but it's fine for now.
I am 6’2 and I find pull ups extremely fun. I do them probably 3-4 days a week, weighted one day and the rest BW. I recommend finding a bar which is high enough you still have to jump to reach
I'm 6'3" and on a good day when I'm feeling energized and on the pre-workout, I can crank out 15 full-rom pull-ups. And I'm not even ripped looking, just kind of a lanklet, not really skinnyfat, but my bf% is around 13% at 185 pounds.
I just started lifting consistently for 2 months. I’m 230 pounds and 6’1. I can only do like half of a single pull-up? Am I weak as fuck if manlets can do these or does it just take time? Or am I too fat and will never do a pull up at this weight?
Valerio Naldi did a 100 kg pullup with a bodyweight of 245.8 lbs.
You're just not strong enough for your weight (too much fat). Keep at it and you'll get there one day.
>if manlets can do these
manlets have it easier doing pull-ups like they have it easier on the bench because smaller arms means they have to pull/push less distance to complete a rep and the closer it is to them the easier it is to control the weight. but your weight is why you can't do them though not your height
>Or am I too fat
By far > will never do a pull up at this weight?
Not with this bf%. You need to lose fat AND gain muscle, lots in both categories. But you can probably crank out a large number of pullups by simply cutting till you can see veins on your abs.
You can absolutely do pull ups with a high body fat percentage, they're just way harder than movies etc make them look.
You have to work your way up with assisted pull ups or lat pulldowns until you can do one bodyweight pull up.
do a couple sets of slow, controlled negatives two or three times per week, and I guarantee you'll be able to do real pull ups by Christmas (most likely much sooner, maybe even by the end of the month)
as others have mentioned, your weight is the biggest problem, but you're definitely not so overweight that pull ups need to be a long term goal. they are a somewhat technical movement if you have never done them before, it is a bit of a process to learn how to engage all of the back muscles to do one properly, but I don't think you are that far off
Why does no one do full rom on these? I went to to lift with my cousin andi did them from deadhang to chest at the bar and he was trying to tell me I don't have to do them like that and it's military style ( whatever that means). I don't listen to him but even when I was going to a public gym I rarely ever saw people do them with full rom
Tension on your tendons isn't linear. The more weight you have on you the harder your tendons work. You can easily snap your body up doing weighted exercises because your body isn't necessarily designed for the extra load without muscle tension
Unless you're a girl, pull ups progression is pretty fast. I went from 2 pull ups with difficulty to 10+ strict and even muscle ups in like 3 months time. However I was mostly weak not so much fat.
I started weight 67kg at 5'11"
1 Yr I could 20kg
2 I could 40kg
4 Yr I could 60kg at 74kg
at year 11, 31, at 84kg I can chin up 75kg
I'm reasonably sure this puts me in the 0.000001% of strongest humans who have ever lived.
natty,
A 159kg total weight chinup is good, but not freak tier. My 1rm is about the same as yours (+50 kg and some change at 108-109 kg) and I'm just an advanced lifter (2pl8 ohp for reps etc., I'm
I'm 6'8" and last working set was 7 reps with 65 lbs attached, at a bodyweight of 240 lbs
No they are not, you just have to understand that SwoleShack is cope posting central with a lot of cross posters from /LULZ/ and similar places.
So you get a lot of mentally deranged retards that cling on to a single physical characteristic of their otherwise decrepit beings.
I am 5'10" with a +3 ape index meaning a wing span of 6'1", my best weighted pull-up is one rep with +90lbs, at a BW of around 190lbs. I've been lifting for 1.5 years, that isn't even particularly good. Unless you are obese there's no excuse to be unable to do pull-ups.
more like the powershitter filter
It's a decent exercise if you can't afford a gym membership, but a pulldown machine is much better.
There are 0 situations where you have to pull yourself down
If you can't do pull ups as a lanklet you are just plain weak. You have a bigger frame than manlets. More potential for strength
not how leverage works
I’m 6’1 and repping out 30+ pull ups in a set
Lmao at this fat homosexual making excuses
that wasn't my point retard
Just stfu and go work on pull ups fat fag
Nobody wants your excuses
I'm not fat or a homosexual, stop projecting
Whatever helps you feel better pulluplet
Sure range of motion counts but if you can't do 10 strict pull ups at any height you are either fat fuck or dyel.
kys
Lose weight piggy
kys
dude there's not even room for the weight to hang below me like that, it's not fair
Hang the weight over one shoulder and across your body. I'm 6'3'' and that works for me.
Might be uncomfortable when I'm past 1 plate but it's fine for now.
I did dips with 90 and pull ups with 45 yesterday and got a fuckton of mires. Stay mad fat bitch. I pull up your weight for reps
If ~~*someone*~~'s getting filtered by pull-ups you're probably not pulling up even half ~~*their*~~ weight for reps.
does the israelite fear the pull up?
>hurr durr i'm too tall to do pull ups
just mount the pull up bar higher then you fucking dolt
I am 6’2 and I find pull ups extremely fun. I do them probably 3-4 days a week, weighted one day and the rest BW. I recommend finding a bar which is high enough you still have to jump to reach
prime example of why you'll get the best results doing the opposite of what SwoleShack says
> excess of 20% bloatshitter seething at not being able to cheat with his body weight on the one lift that prevents it.
>cheat with his body weight
How do you cheat with your bodyweight at bench?
your boobas get so big that your ROM is halved because you're "touching your chest"
I saw a video of a Russian mass monster, like 6'5 and +250 lbs doing heavy ass weighted pull ups like it was nothing
Lankets who say pull ups are only for Manlets are coping hard
People just want to make up excuses.
I'm 6'3" and on a good day when I'm feeling energized and on the pre-workout, I can crank out 15 full-rom pull-ups. And I'm not even ripped looking, just kind of a lanklet, not really skinnyfat, but my bf% is around 13% at 185 pounds.
Lankletbros, our response?
>I can't do pull ups because I'm not a skinny manle-ACK!
>curls so heavy he can't even go 75degrees without popping his tendon
what is the point...
Count the total weight. Simple as. bodyweight + added weight is how much you can pullup
controversial statement
Opisafag
impressive

He's 6'4", by the way.
it's because you're fat. if all of that fat was muscle then yeah you could do pull-ups but as it stands no
>if manlets can do these

lose more fat and get more muscle

Because is harder. Chest to bar pull up it is the real thing. That is the next filter.
It was actually the deadhang he was having a problem with. He would stop right before deadhang
How so?

not him, that's some good insight as to why my forearms have been aching past the usual DOMS in the last few months. Thanks for the tip.
Deadhang isn't good for your elbows when you're doing weighted pull ups
I love the cope and seethe pullups cause.
Ultimate fatfuck filter.
She is nervous because she knows this manlet chad can do pull-ups and she doesn't wanna fumble trying to ask him out. Many such cases.
Sorry, sweaty
Uhm you didn't actually pull your triple chin over the bar. I count zero baldie.
>I count zero baldie.
>Zero
>Zero
>Zero
im a manlet and i dont do pull ups
I'm 6'0 and maybe 4-6 weeks away from one handed pullup, then dyel OP can comfortably suck my balls while he's standing.
how long do you expect to be able to hold at the top position using only one hand?
Unless you're a girl, pull ups progression is pretty fast. I went from 2 pull ups with difficulty to 10+ strict and even muscle ups in like 3 months time. However I was mostly weak not so much fat.
>cope, the post
I'm 5'8 170 lbs, I can do like 40lbs for reps and it has already made my back ripped as fuck but I want to double it in order to get the muscle up.
If you cannot pull up your fat ass you are not fit
I'm 6'8" and last working set was 7 reps with 65 lbs attached, at a bodyweight of 240 lbs

To compare to world record levels, I think Andrey Smaev is truly peak strength, as he's able to do pullups in the 260kg total weight range.
any kind of lifting is way more rewarded for manlets (which is overall fair)
checked. and yeah it's not like they are coming for our girls
what's so manlet about pullups?!
What do you mean? I'm 6'5" and pull ups are one of my favorite exercises. You're just weak.
Best exercise for your spine, the decompression can make make coom, thats how good it feels.
bro what
I've done shit tons of weighted pullups and never coomed I am being ripped off?!?!?!
I had some lower back injuries from lifting and construction work so I get more benefit and nice sensation from it. I guess you are healthier.
Even skywakker who is 6inch taller than jeff doesnt stand a chance against his shoulders
jeff cavaliere (athleanx dot coom)? no one is six inches taller than jeff
tfw 6'3'' and 230 lb
tfw did 3x9 pull-ups at +45 lb two days ago
Get filtered, fatty.
If you can’t do pull-ups because of height you better be like 6’6”+
are these actually that hard for tall/big people or something
like you just work out your pullups for a bit and shouldn't it get easier
No they are not, you just have to understand that SwoleShack is cope posting central with a lot of cross posters from /LULZ/ and similar places.

I'm 6'4 and I do them almost daily. Cope powerlard
Major cope fatty
