you can eat raw meat, but if it's not guaranteed to be safe without cooking it they put a disclaimer to cover their asses from lawsuits

Just buy beef on sale and stop shopping at giant grocery stores where they sell makeup and have a pharmacy and everything is 30% marked up.

Any brick-and-mortar calling themselves a farmer’s market today is mostly likely an overpriced grocery store for yuppies. Kind of like any place calling themselves a general store.

    Just get ground beef.
The nutrition content of ground beef is about 90% the same as the finest steak.

It's actually better nutritionally because it contains more collagen.

Ground beef is extremly good, no doubt. But as I said, if you are poorfag then kidneybeens have the same amount of protein per 100 g as ground beef and is extremly cheap

        Anonymous

        But...
Beans have antinutrients and are a pain in the ass to prepare.
And kidney beans have much less protein than beef.

          Anonymous

Same amount of protein per 100 gram. Dont get me wrong. I am not saying beens are better than beef. I am saying it is an extremly cheap alternative.

You have to compare based on calories, not on weight. When you cook the kidney beans their water weight will swell 200%.

Kidney beans are 24% calories from protein.
Beef is about 50% calories from protein, depending on the cut.
Beef protein is higher quality, while beans have a lot of antinutrients.

Rice and beans if fine if you are poor, but don't be delusional to claim they are superior to meat.

As I said. Beef is of course superior but kidney beans are extremly cheap alternative. 1 EUR for one tetrapack of beans. Ground beef is cheap but not that cheap.

Costco chickens are $5. Pork chops can be less than $1 each. If you are really poor, you can eat rice and beans for all of the essential amino acids. It would also be healthier.

      >It would also be healthier.
If you really believe this, why don't you eat rice and beans?
Beans will make you hypothyroid. Rice and beans is the bare minimum to sustain life, but people don't thrive on it.

If I buy beef, it's usually a chuck. I like to freeze it a bit then cut it real thin. Give it a whack with a tenderizer then throw it on a pan. Its nice to top it on rice and some veggies. Chuck nowadays will run me about $3.99 a pound.

OP, I work at a grocery store and in college, this is what I do. Wait for ground chuck to go on sale, it usually hits 3.50$/lb. Buy 20 pounds of ground beef, this will usually hold over until the next sale. Then hit a BJ's or costco and pick up a 20lb bag of rice for 10$. Cheap gains.

Protip: mix in a bit of ground pork to make the ground beef a bit more "fatty", ground beef can sometime get dry.

    Buy cheaper cuts.

You can even grill them like steaks, just take care to cut them into slices against the grain, relatively thin, and don't grill them too long so they don't become dry. If you only grill them a short time they won't be tough.
