I am not saying that keto is useless. Few people make it work because as you said yourself they take calories into account. The majority of people that I've seen do keto end up being even fatter because they just overeat anyway.

But doing low-carb (sub 40g/day) and inadvertently doing keto some days, I just like muh meats, cheeses, sauces, and veggies.
Bloodwork comes out fine.
Was 241 in April 21st, 197 this morning.
I just tug on resistance bands for strength training and go on 10-15k steps a day for cardio.
Sleep's better, energy levels are better, mood's better.
And I don't have cheat days because meat, cheese, sauce, and veggies are delicious.

Really depends on you tbf, no harm in experimenting to find the sweet spot. It's obviously not a lifelong diet so you can take your time and go keto if and when you need it once you know how your body works.

I lost 50 pounds of fat just by eating beef and vegetables every day. That being said, you need carbs if you‘re going to do intense exercise. Once I began to do 2+ hours of exercise a day it became impossible to do on that diet. You need to eat carbs at some point.
Only run no carb for a short time (ideally in combination with some fasting) to drop weight quick or to reset insulin sensitivity.
Long term run a healthy balanced diet with minimal processed food and don't go overboard on red meat if your older than your early 20s and done growing.
