I've been a smoker for ten years but recently decided to quit. Obviously there's going to be a good deal of permanent damage, but when can I expect at least some improvement in my lung capacity?

in 30 years it'll be as if you've never smoked

I smoked 1 pack / day for like 8 years then switched to 'black and milds' (nagger cigars) for another 2 years. I quit those a few months ago but I need to constantly chew Nicorette all day.

      >in 30 years it'll be as if you've never smoked
No. Your risk of heart attack, stroke, lung cancer, etc, will return to that of a person who has never smoke. That doesn't mean your lung capacity. Some damages (like tissue, etc) can still be permanent, it just won't cause your death.

The improvement is starting now, and nobody can say because nobody knows how well you'll stick to an anaerobic regimen. Even you don't know. So keep at it and the results will be here soon enough.

You'll already be breathing better by day 3 with improved taste/smell.

It takes one week for the nicotine to fully leave your system. Then the addiction is over. Done. Gone. At that point you’ll be left to deal with the habit
    >t.smoked for 2 years, quit for 4
    >t.14 years clean
    >t.substituted pot for cigs
    >t.quit pot 2 years ago
    >t.still smoke every few months
    >tee hee

Smoked for a decade. Quit about 8 months ago. For me the cravings lasted about three weeks. By the end of the first month I started having days where I didn't even think about smoking. Can't say I feel any healthier though.

Lungs do heal but it’s an extremely long process. 10 years isn’t THAT bad. Your lungs should be completely healed from it in 20 years. That is if you don’t go back to that bad habit.

Smokers live longer on average because nicotine makes you smarter so you don't die of completely avoidable things, like alzeheimers, poverty, car accidents, compulsory genetic mods etc.

I'm on day 4 or 5 of quitting snus after using snus to quit ciggies. I saw benefits really quick after switching to snus, your lungs will feel noticeably better in like a month and it'll continue to improve. You'll just notice you aren't wheezing and phlegmy after taking a few steps, life will be better

How old are you? How many packs a day? If you quit early enough (early 30s) you'll be mostly fine, say you smoked a pack a day, so you got 10 pack-years, you carry that with you in terms of lung cancer risk, but by the time you're approaching your 70s-80s your lungs won't be much worse off than those of non-smokers. If you want to do something for your lungs, adopt a regular cardio regimen that you can stick to until you're physically unable too

I'm 26. I smoked usually around 10 cigs a day, but fewer than that for the first couple of years.

I never smoked cigs but i was heavily addicted to nicotine from vaping. Life is so much better without that stuff. You can do it.

why would you start vaping if you never smoked?

because not everyone goes to the absolute most harmful thing, some people like damage control. this shouldnt be hard to understand.

It is resistance training for the muscles that work your lungs. Most of you niggas have weak breathing muscles and you don't breathe correctly. Bas has a money back guarantee for people who have COPD and Asthma if it isn't at least 70% gone in the first month. I have COPD and I'm like 6 weeks into the routine and my copd is so much better its hard to quantify what percentage but I feel like is reversing a lot of the damage that smoking did.

Literally just o2trainer dot com. You can probably even find a coupon code.

Is this something that might help with snoring? I don't have issues breathing when I'm awake but if I sleep on my back I can feel it in the morning; back of my throat is raw from the snoring and I feel shitty all day from lack of sleep.

Several amazon reviews say it cured their snoring, Google it and and you'll see some people claiming it helped. I never was a snorer though tbh family.

Okay. I'm interested. How do you use it?

There are 2 workouts. One works you front breathing muscles. The second works your back breathing muscles. You choose the right resistance cap that you can do 30 reps in like 5 mins.
As far as products go, it's legit. You have to do the work but I have a so many fewer issues breathing.

Immediately. You'll notice the next time you take the stairs. I admit it's gonna be some time before you can hack a marathon but I quit smoking in 2019 after a 33-year, sometimes two-pack-a-day habit and within 60 days I could handle twice-daily 20-minute sessions on the elliptical. I also lost 20 pounds in that period.

Regeneration or repair starts to happen almost immediately and IIRC within 10 years it'll be almost as if you'd never smoked in the first place.

How bad is the occasional cigarette? Let's say once a month.

Also does nicotine on its own have serious negative effects? Like wearing nicotine patches.

Probably not great, just use other forms of tobacco. Pipes, cigars, snuff, snus, chew, dip, whatever.
Nicotine is extremely good for you though. It's boosts tests and makes you smarter. Gotta get your daily vitamin N.
