Do you feel good while cutting -400 a day for months?
Now double the deficit and swap months for years. Would you do that? I wouldn't, it would be a worse hell than staying obese.
You need a different strategy entirely like fasting in order to get anywhere.

This is true. I cut 20 lbs about 9-6 months ago and you get used to it pretty quickly. In fact I didn't even mean to do 20, I was going for around 14-15 and overshot. But I would argue a lower deficit over a longer period of time is a better option.

You’re being disingenuous or willfully retarded. Your thyroid will greatly effect the calories out part of CICO, which will obviously effect CICO overall. They literally do, even most skinny people past 25 do. Low thyroid function is THE reason for overweight people. With proper thyroid function there is no, zero, zip obesity.
CICO retards are confirmed newbies, anon. Anyone that’s been in fitness long enough knows that it’s not as simple as reading the calorie label on the back. The fact that you think variable thermic effects of macronutrients disproves CICO just shows how much of a brainlet you are.
>Your thyroid will greatly effect the calories out part of CICO
It affects the Calories Out part of CICO by making you tired and lethargic. Thyroid issues don't magically cause your body to burn fewer calories when you walk 5 miles, it just means you won't feel like you have the energy to walk 5 miles in the first place.
I'll say it again in no uncertain terms so you can try and refute it instead of just saying "uh no".
Hypothyroidism does not cause your body to burn fewer calories when performing a given physical task, it just makes you feel too tired to even accomplish the task.
I'm not contesting that people with hypothyroidism will burn fewer calories at rest, or that their metabolism is impaired in general, or that they need treatment.
But hypothyroidism or not, your body requires the same calorie expendtiture to move a given distance in a given time.
So is it CICO or not? Because you’re going back on that by using the fatigue argument as for why people with thyroid issues are gaining weight. Let me break it down for you: >before thyroid issue
2,500 calories to maintain >after thyroid issue
gain weight with 2,500 calories, have to reduce to 1,000
No mention of working out. Their fatigue is irrelevant in this case, they’re simply gaining weight with less calories.
It's CICO. A genuine thyroid problem changes the Calories Out part of the equation. >Their fatigue is irrelevant in this case
It absolutely isn't. A huge part of our daily calorie expenditure is the kind of mindless fidgeting or short bursts of movement that we don't really think of as exercise, exactly the kind of movements that someone with severe lethargy due to hypothyroidism isn't going to engage in.

Why? I'm not saying hypothyroidism magically causes people to burn fewer calories for activities, that's the other retarded anon.
I'm arguing that it makes people lethergic, and because of their lethargy, they aren't moving around as much as they otherwise would.
Retard take. Average caloric Intake across the population was already too high, so even if it remains stable, this can explain rising obesity. Some people only eat at a gradual calorie excess so if they only gain say 5lbs of fat per year, it will take them some time to become obese.
Not to mention population-level stats hide extremes. You could have more people eating at a high calorie surplus and other people eating at maintenence and still see an overall increase in obesity despite overall daily calorie averages remaining static.
Anon I know people who don't leave their home except to go get groceries and meet people maybe once a week at best. For both of those "activities" they use the car. All the other time is spent in bed, on a chair, on the couch or on the computer.
They could eat less calories than in the past and still be 3 times as fat as people in the past.
2,000 daily intake is for people who at least take 10,000 steps a day which roughly burn 350 calories. If you have zero activity you should really go for 1400-1600 calories tb.h
I’m losing over a pound a week at 145lb eating 2k calories and I never take more than 5k steps. Don’t listen to this eating disorder encouragement anons
Either you’re not actually eating at 2k or you are taking more steps than you think. It is insanely easy to get 10k steps if you’re not a neet. Walking to and back from work is like 5000 steps for me and during work I do another 5000 steps. Yes, I have something that records it so I am not guessing.
The reason why people of the past were much skinnier is because they walked A LOT
I record my steps. Count and weigh every calorie, etc. I am 12% body fat according to BIA. I add back any extra calories if I do cardio on a treadmill, too.
1500 with no activity is fine. I am saying for people doing like 2000+ with no activity. Imagine doing that daily. Even 300 calories more like 2300 will amount to 1k g gained weekly if literally no activity in that week.
That graph is misinformation. Half the meals at fast food places is 75% of your daily caloric intake and fast food is one of the biggest industries in the world
I'd guess it's bullshit, but it would be nice to know how he estimates caloric intake and it would be nice to see the chart start from ~1970 or so rather than at a time when obesity had already started trending way up.
>caloric intake hasn't increased since 1999
This isn't true. Also anyone who is obese isn't eating only 2000 calories a day and they never eat a deficit, because if they did they wouldn't be fucking obese.
>800 calories of donuts is the same as 800 calories of beef
you gotta eat both to get your macros in bro
brb deep frying some dough in lard to eat with my brisket
>weight is all about counting calories
Doesn't matter if you count them, but weight management is as simple as the relation of calories consumed and expended. >doesn't care what he eats
What? Have you ever met a CICO educator who doesn't value nutrition? Nutrition is vital to human health, it's just irrelevant to weight loss. It's like saying "electricians don't care if you use copper or lead plumbing." Not true, but they're here to wire your place, not plumb it. >800cal donut same as 800cal beef
Yeah as far as weight loss is concerned. There are other goals you may want to take into consideration when deciding between these foods. >[sarcastic] CICO diet works great just look around
Literally has never failed anyone ever >unhealthy meme foods
Not regularly consumed by the nutritionally conscious, irrelevant >le fat basedman
This is you
"Irrelevant" was a strong word. "Has no direct connection" or "doesn't need to be considered" would probably be more accurate. Good nutrition can make lowering the CI a whole lot easier psychologically (plus all the irrelevant health benefits), but it doesn't change that CICO is driving the weight loss. Someone with a high pain tolerance and a point to prove can lose large amounts of weight on donuts and water alone.
Fat women mostly don't want to acknowledge this, so they eat a metric tonne of leafy greens and nuts every day and declare weight loss to be some sort of mystery.
>calories-in calories-out diet is working great for everyone
no you retard, they're eating delivery food and high calorie snacks everyday and massively exceeding their caloric needs
Carnivore Aurelius is pretty based but also a bit of a nut. I like him overall but he veers into grifting much of the time, though he's gotten better about not constantly shilling his liver chip things lately
Oldfart here. Nobody that was an adult 20 years ago believes that caloric intake hasn't changed. At the same time, sitting on your ass all day every day at a "work" from home knowledge-worker job was very uncommon back then. We are packing on the pounds coming and going.
It is gut health. It is no coincidence that all foods promoting weight loss are probiotic in some measure while those leading to weight gain are bad for your gut through either antibiotic feed or bad fat/carbohydrate combinations.
No other theorie is consistent with all the data, not sneed oils, not glyphosate, not lithium, not keto, not cico.
I think guy health plays a massive role but people still need to exercise. I know people who consume a lot of kombucha, sauerkraut, kimchi etc and are still pretty fat
There is a curious thing where probiotics are only good for your good health if your gut health is already positive, if it is negative they don't help. If you are already fat and have shitty gut health you need to fast for a while to reset the gut microbiome, after that probiotics will work.
I think sports and counting calories are usefull tools aswell, but having a healthy gut is at least as important and insanely overlooked, nobody in the mainstream talks about it. I couldn't lose weight for the life of me despite frequent exercise and 1850kcal limit but after I fixed my gut I lost 35kg and counting.
I've only ever seen fats (or they very shortly afterwords became so) eating/drinking that shit. I think they consume that stuff because people say it's "healthy" and then they do the classic "I don't need to actually take care of myself, because I consumed 'good' thing!"
No, this is just trailing affects of a bad diet. A bad diet will cause you to keep on gaining 2-3 lbs per year. Play that forward and that’s where the new obese are coming from: people who are eating the same but have graduated from overweight to obese
I don't know, but it's the lack of heavy metals (primarily likelt Hg,Cd,Pb,Cu). We have no subcutaneous fat as energy storage, only tissue that is meant to keep our bodies at the right temperature, and this tissue is highly prone to steatosis from malnutrition. In fact only a few animals may have subcutaneous fat as energy storage, such as bears or camels. (The blubber of sea mammals is also primarily insulation, as only specific parts get sacrificed in starving whales, and it's a gummy chewy tissue, not "lard".)
we ate much more meat a hundred years ago and physically active jobs have been replaced by recreational exercise but used to be nonexistent. how about all the people who didnt have physically active jobs were they all obese?
Bullshit numbers.
Nearly all food is objectively worse, and worse for you.
Rampant consumerism and pathological degeneracy have encouraged, and even rewarded, participation in all vices, especially greed, sloth, and gluttony.
also ur mum gae
who the fuck measured this? yheah im totally gonna believe that there is this conclusive ~~*study*~~ backed by ~~*science*~~ that caloric intake hasn't increased since 1999. yeah that's totally a legitimate statistic that i have no reason whatsoever to doubt.
that said, lack of exercise is poisoning our metabolism. people work from home, use cars, watch tv etc. back in the day just by living normal life you burned easily 500 kcal more. 500kcal difference per day is 24kg per year. yeah its big.
My gf spends more calories whining about not being able to lose weight and finding excuses not to go to the gym than working out. And on TikTok more than both combined.
My former roommate whom I introduced to working out hasn't skipped a workout in four years despite crippling alcoholism and laziness.
It's lithium. All the least obese places in the world are mountainous upland areas where there is little to no mining or industry or places where there is no lithium in the drinking water for some other reason. People do not want to accept this conclusion because it is so grim, but we are very literally being poisoned by industrial society, which is destroying the health and beauty of human bodies in most parts of the developed world.
You have to be completely stupid to believe the average American is only taking in 2200 calories each day. I eat around 2400 calories to maintain ottermode at 6'0". There is no way a 30+ BMI "person" is eating less than me. Yes, people walk less than they used to but calorie intake has also increased. Simply look at fast "food" menu items now and compare them to 30 years ago. Back then the average man wasn't eating a triple double mcburger twice a day.
McDonald's got rid of the supersize meal forever ago and most places have been steadily decreasing portion sizes in an attempt to yid more money out of you. Two triple cheeseburgers is only 1,000 calories anyway. That's for both of them, not each.
Literally just more oils AND cereals. >every diet is either >DUDE ITS THE CARBS!

Why are you talking about a subject you know nothing about? Everything you said is false. It’s not just energy that’s effected, anon.
Let me break it down for you:
>before thyroid issue
2,500 calories to maintain
>after thyroid issue
gain weight with 2,500 calories, have to reduce to 1,000
No mention of working out. Their fatigue is irrelevant in this case, they’re simply gaining weight with less calories.
It's CICO. A genuine thyroid problem changes the Calories Out part of the equation.
>Their fatigue is irrelevant in this case
It absolutely isn't. A huge part of our daily calorie expenditure is the kind of mindless fidgeting or short bursts of movement that we don't really think of as exercise, exactly the kind of movements that someone with severe lethargy due to hypothyroidism isn't going to engage in.
please show a single published example case of any condition resulting in greater than a 10% decrease in TDEE (let alone a 1000kcal) that doesn't involve grievous harm to an individual.
Yes of course, just look at this nice excel graph I made to support my claim!
1,400 calories is what I feed my 8yr old son
I have zero activity and I'm losing 1kg a week on 1500cal. Are you anorexic or what?
1500 with no activity is fine. I am saying for people doing like 2000+ with no activity. Imagine doing that daily. Even 300 calories more like 2300 will amount to 1k g gained weekly if literally no activity in that week.
Naw you’re just a gay with no muscle. You’re prescribing people a caloric intake without knowing their height weight or muscle base
>140lbs
stfu manlet
It's a "woman".
Do these numbers take into account the fact most people under report/estimate their own caloric intake?
twitter is fake and gay
>caloric intake hasn't increased since 1999
doubt
>something is poiso-
stopped reading. schizo account for chuds
You could have just looked at the greek statue display pic and come to the same conclusion without reading anything.
Everyone that posts statues always end up being the biggest freaking morons. The garden gnomes and Muslims are right about idolatry.
true. and these idiots are all over IST now
>carnitard faglarper
No, everyone wasn't eating only New York Strip steaks and salt in 1999. Stupid ass twitter grifters.
B-B-BUT MUH THERMODYNAMICS!!!! THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE
But much fysics do.
ugh this takes me back to 2014 IST IIFYM posting hahahaha
Literally has never failed anyone ever
>unhealthy meme foods
Not regularly consumed by the nutritionally conscious, irrelevant
>le fat basedman
This is you
>Nutrition is vital to human health, it's just irrelevant to weight loss.
absolutely false
donut same as 800cal beef
>Yeah as far as weight loss is concerned.
absolutely false
you have no idea what you're talking about and don't need to be posing as an authority
How do they measure this? How do they know how much each person is consuming? Are they self reporting or is some science bro counting for them?
>no mention of calorie expenditure
Carnivore Aurelius is pretty based but also a bit of a nut. I like him overall but he veers into grifting much of the time, though he's gotten better about not constantly shilling his liver chip things lately
>him
I've got news for you pal.
>caloric intake hasn't increased since 1999
Yeah people were drinking these during the Y2K parties.
The sugar amount scares me more than the calories
>32 fl oz
Jesus fucking Christ, that's nearly as large as my water jug
>333g of sugar
>111% recommended intake
How is 300g of sugar is normal ?
They put sugar under Carbs. 300g of good carbs is okay. Never trust big nutrition
No matter how good this might taste, i couldnt justify wasting 2600 calories on it when theres way better/more things i could eat instead.
263g of sugar, wtf how do Americans even have teeth after that.
vegetable oil is your answer.
sugar has almost no correlation with obesity. sugar is just an energy source. you intake sugar, you use sugar.
vegetable oil on the other hand utterly nerfs your hormones.
Yes. Lack of work. Nobody can run up 16 flights of stairs anymore. People think walking 10 miles is a lot.
If that sourceless claim is true, it's still a sourceless internet comment.
It also ignores sedentary lifestyles.
>~~*self-reported*~~ caloric intake hasn't increased
Every strict calorie counting study has reported that on average people eat 1200 calories more than they did 50 years ago
link
>le based stoic trad carnivore ketotard twitter account
Less exercise. That's it. 3 seconds of thought were sufficient to figure it out. Which says all there is to know about that gay.
No, this is just trailing affects of a bad diet. A bad diet will cause you to keep on gaining 2-3 lbs per year. Play that forward and that’s where the new obese are coming from: people who are eating the same but have graduated from overweight to obese
Companies are evil and must be regulated except the ones that spray pesticides on everything and feed us deodorized oils, Floyd loved them.
>muh cico is wrong
>muh metabolics
>muh thyroid
fucking eat regular people food, not your autistic minmax fringe diets
I don't know, but it's the lack of heavy metals (primarily likelt Hg,Cd,Pb,Cu). We have no subcutaneous fat as energy storage, only tissue that is meant to keep our bodies at the right temperature, and this tissue is highly prone to steatosis from malnutrition. In fact only a few animals may have subcutaneous fat as energy storage, such as bears or camels. (The blubber of sea mammals is also primarily insulation, as only specific parts get sacrificed in starving whales, and it's a gummy chewy tissue, not "lard".)
Where's the mystery here? People aren't participating in physically demanding jobs anymore, yet our diets have become more dense.
we ate much more meat a hundred years ago and physically active jobs have been replaced by recreational exercise but used to be nonexistent. how about all the people who didnt have physically active jobs were they all obese?
Bullshit numbers.
Nearly all food is objectively worse, and worse for you.
Rampant consumerism and pathological degeneracy have encouraged, and even rewarded, participation in all vices, especially greed, sloth, and gluttony.
also ur mum gae
bull fucking shit that the average person has an average calorie intake of 2250. maybe if it's self-reported LOL
also what's the difference between "energy available" and "energy intake" ?
>200+ calories per day since 1970
>shorter population due to mass immigration from manlet countries
problem solved.
>it takes time for people to become obese
woah...
>IST when they see an unsourced Excel graph
who the fuck measured this? yheah im totally gonna believe that there is this conclusive ~~*study*~~ backed by ~~*science*~~ that caloric intake hasn't increased since 1999. yeah that's totally a legitimate statistic that i have no reason whatsoever to doubt.
that said, lack of exercise is poisoning our metabolism. people work from home, use cars, watch tv etc. back in the day just by living normal life you burned easily 500 kcal more. 500kcal difference per day is 24kg per year. yeah its big.
The data is from a self report study, kek. They literally asked fat people: "What do you eat in a typical day?" and expected honest answers, lmao
My gf spends more calories whining about not being able to lose weight and finding excuses not to go to the gym than working out. And on TikTok more than both combined.
My former roommate whom I introduced to working out hasn't skipped a workout in four years despite crippling alcoholism and laziness.
Seed oils are the problem brah
It's lithium. All the least obese places in the world are mountainous upland areas where there is little to no mining or industry or places where there is no lithium in the drinking water for some other reason. People do not want to accept this conclusion because it is so grim, but we are very literally being poisoned by industrial society, which is destroying the health and beauty of human bodies in most parts of the developed world.
Yeah bro people are 500lb landwhales now because of sneed oil, not because they eat 4000 calories of crap every day and just sit around their house.
>twitter account LARPing as a Roman emperor
Yes I'm sure this will be based on a good source
Twitter makes people so weird. Who am i gonna LARP as on this website? OH i know, "Carnivore Aurelius"
More like
>Something is poisoning our data
and it's fatties that report they eat 500kcal/day but their genetics make it impossible to lose weight.
>carnivore
>marcus aurelis ppropic
this retad thinks he has some obscure knowledge but hes actually just going to die at 30
>b-b-but my CICO
There is only one reliable measure of being fit, and it is metabolic rate.
>caloric intake hasn't increased since 1999
lol, lmao
>Carnivore Aurelius
I wonder what he could possibly have to say is the culprit
sounds like fucking bullshit, need the study
No.
Literally just more oils AND cereals.
>every diet is either
>DUDE ITS THE CARBS!
Or
>DUDE ITS THE FATS!
When the answer is literally just eat less processed shit (and less in general)
It’s literally CICO
>dude muh 800 calories of donut
Go ahead retard eat only 800 calories of donuts and lose weight as well as your muscles and gain a deficiency
Or yet go ahead and eat 3000 calories of beef and fat and tell me how much weight you lost because those are “good” calories
Obesity is the sum of caloric surplus over time, so the chart isn’t saying anything terribly surprising.
Plastic. Chink poison products
