Is it possible to lose fat and build muscle at the same time?

I want to get big muscles but at the same time I want to lose my muffin top. Is this possible or should I focus on one goal at a time?

just lift and diet bro, when you are cut enough you can eat more and keep lifting. Dont overcomplicate shit

Lift, eat (some) protein, and do 30mins at least of cardio. Your body will metabolize the fuck out of your fat to use as energy. Cardio doesn’t kill gains, it makes you “look smaller” because of less fat. Definition is the end goal and fatties literally cannot have defined musculature

If recomping actually worked do you really think anyone would waste all that time doing bulking and cutting if they could just do it both it at once?

arnold would literally grow into a show, getting heavier and leaner at the same time lol

      >b b but he was juicing it d d doesn't count

doesn't matter, it still proves it isn't impossible to grow muscle while losing fat so you're wrong
there's a study on elite gymnasts among others which involved eating a high protein diet and daily training which clearly allowed for muscle gain while losing bodyfat all the way to single digit bodyfat, the reason why almost no one realises this is possible is because you don't gain fat while doing it which is what people mistake with muscle gain 99% of the time they think that having a slightly smaller measurement on their muscles
after a cut means they lost muscle when in fact it's just the lard they had, there's also extra cellular water weight that goes away as you get leaner, when you actually measure contractile tissue is when you know whether or not you're losing muscle during a cut and countless studies that involve DEXA and MRI scans show it is possible all the time.
the reason why competitive bodybuilders bulk and cut is because they want to maximize gains and maximize leanness not because building muscle is impossible while losing fat although it most probably is on the later stages of a contest prep as they get too lean around 6% bf or even lower

Only if you are complete beginner with atrophied zero muscle mass. See "noob gains".

Recomp works if you're an absolute beginner who's skinnyfat/morbidly obese but the muscle gain/fat loss is going to be exponentially slower than if you did dedicated cutting and bulking phases so its a trade off.

Newb gains are strength gains not muscle gains.
Your body will not build muscle without a calorie surplus.

        False

With a small calorie deficit (~300kcal) your body can tap into body fat for energy to build muscle.

The key thing is to consume enough protein (0,8g per lbs) and keep the calorie deficit small.

        And ofcourse train your muscles.

This is why fatties should concentrate on losing weight and not worry so much about lifting. They need to get thin fast and then build muscle with bulk/cut cycles. Anything else is ridiculously inefficient, bordering on pointless.

How long is a typical bulk and cut cycle?

Bulk - at least six weeks
Cut - until all the excess fat is gone
            Then repeat.

Not possible, not even on a gram of tren.

              >Bulk - at least six weeks
it's literally pointless to bulk for six weeks on fucking steroids and you think you can build any muscle mass in 6 weeks as a natty? Guess how i know you don't even lift.

                >it's literally pointless to bulk for six weeks
Every reputable body building website and forum recommends six weeks minimum.
But you obviously know better than everyone else, lmfao.

I am coming to the frightening realization that I will be a skelly by the time I get down to a reasonable fat percentage. I was like 220 at almost 30%.
I've lost almost 50lbs and I'm still flabby as fuck.
