I’m 230 lbs at 6’ tall and can crank out sets of 12 pull ups with good form. I am pretty strong by the numbers (425 squat, 460 DL, 320 bench). I have a gut though and nothing i do seems to help. It’s weird, I have good vascularity through my upper body and seemingly low BF except for this gut bulge. Shit sucks. I want to be lean again.
Compared to what?
Average sedentary pedestrian? Very strong.
Active lifter? Weak to mediocre.
I can do 6 with 45 added, to a total of 225lbs. Could do 6 with BW spring last year, pretty randomly went to a calisthenics park and did 2-3 sets to failure a few times a week, got me to 16+ with BW then I joined a gym last fall and started doing weighted, ez progression from there.

I'm 36 and do 10-12 sets of 12 pullups twice a week! I combine pullups with rows and ISO high lat rows. Shrugs for shits and gigs.

It depends on how many pullups can you do. I weight 225lbs and can do 25-31 pullups, granted I'm not a fatass and I mostly do them weighted of course
