I realized if you go to the gym in order to get muscles you need to eat a lot of proteins and other stuff which is BAD for your health. IF you want to liv elonger and healthier you have to eat LESS mot more. I'm thinking of leaving gym and only do some fast walk once oir twice a week, maybe some back streching now and then. Opinions?
If it works for you, it works for you. Personally I'd rather wake up in a 5'9 300lb body before I stopped lifting
health is not subjective. If you eat like a pig to gain mass that will damage your health in the long run.
excess protein has no long-term ill health effects. just make sure it's lean.
digesting proteins causes the release of BLEACH in your blood
besides a lot of studies made clear that eating less calories makes live your longer
I didn't say anything about calories, anon.
proteins cointain calories too, dumbass
I said excess protein, and lean. if you can't balance your calories that's your own fat fault.
do these studies ever take into account how active people are?
does a neet who barely moves and needs and consumes 1500 kcalories actually live longer than a very active person who needs and consumes 2500 kcalories a day?
OP, are you European?
Ok then stay weak retarded gay
You are right in that their is a growth-longevity tradeoff. But the body is also anti-fragile, in the it becomes more
resistant to damage/stress after being subjected to mild damage/stress. For example technically you would say that exercise should shorten your lifespan, because those extra growth stages to either get bigger or recover from the damage should lower your longevity, and to some degree that is true, but it also puts some temporary stress on your heart, which makes your heart more able to tolerate stress in the future. So if you simply only focus on maximizing longevity by avoiding growth, you may make another mistake by not making your body more durable, and may die younger due to minor stress to
your heart in your 70s causing a heart attack (or some other organ failure), or those years could be completely miserable because your
muscles/tendons will be dystrophic. This is why people who live the longest often are moderately active, eat healthy, and stay thin mostly from eating less. If you really want to maximize longevity you shouldn’t seek to really gain size or be bigger, but just do light weight training and cardio regularly.
Personally I think trying to purely optimize for longevity is stupid though.
Maybe intermittent fasting for 18hrs a day is something for you. It will hamper your lifting progress, but I have lifted for a few years and started doing IF later on after the noob gains and I personally think it's a healthy middleground
>IF you want to liv elonger and healthier you have to eat LESS mot more.
show me any evidence of this?
(a comparaison of people who eat a different amount of calories but have a similar lifestyle doesn't count)
he's statement is too vague to reliably interpret, but:
1) most people eat too much and die of metabolic and cardiovascular diseases; therefore, for the average person to live longer, they should eat less. eat right, live longer.
2) it's well-established that near-starvation diets elicit significant life extension in animal models. I wouldn't try this.
>most people eat too much and die of metabolic and cardiovascular diseases; therefore, for the average person to live longer, they should eat less. eat right, live longer.
yeah it doesn't make sense if you look at individuals, me being at a 500 kcalorie deficit while having a low bodyfat % won't make me live longer somehow because the average retard is obese.

I'm assuming that he's talking about the population in general, but, as I said, his statement is too vague for me to defend.
>I'm thinking of leaving gym and only do some fast walk once oir twice a week, maybe some back streching now and then.
moron, I don't care about living healthy and past 40. I just want to be strong enough that one of my hands could easily choke you to death
*shoots you in the face
i lift because it makes me happy
i eat what i want because it makes me happy
this world is shit and i don't care if i die early.
Rather spend one day as a wolf than a 1000 years as a sheep. Having a long life has no value in itself OP.
