how do i not be cold at work? i wear long johns under my clothes but i sit at a desk most of the day and don’t move too much from 7-4. i hop on the forklift occasionally and help pull orders if needed but i am usually in my office at my desk. i am always freezing. we set the thermostat to 68 F (20 C) and the fat guys complain that it’s too hot if we go any higher and if we go any lower i am convinced i will go into shock.
is being fat the only way to tolerate the cold? i don’t think so because fins and swedes seem to do just fine and they’re thinner than most americans.
tldr; how to increase cold tolerance gains?
i'm never cold
what’s your secret
i stay warm
DNP.
lol literally this. It's like 5c weather here and I'm walking around mogging wrapped up clothmos in my t shirt and shorts on 800mg.
High blood pressure
The usual. A few layers of wool, preferably merino for comfy factor. Are your long johns cotton or crappy polyester?
Leg puttees if you want to be an uber chad.
i have the cheap shit from walmart, so that may be contributing to it.
i get enough salt in my diet already, the last thing i need is more salt.
no alcohol for me. even if i did drink, i’d get canned the second somebody here at work sees or smells it.
funny you mention that because i sell herbicides. i’ll write off a jug of q4 and keep it in my desk, taking shots as necessary.
is this true? i don’t want to waste time going to the doctor to get checked out if my coldness can be remedied with better cold gear
drink salt water, wim hof breathing, if all fails get aliexpress warmer
Drink whiskey. Anytime you get a chill take a shot. If still cold, take another shot
Your liver is failing you.
Meat. Warm water. Warming Hispanices.
>merino long johns
I just wear the same ones I wear for hunting
>herbal tea
I drink my coffee at home(wife used to be a barista so she loves making coffee tbh and makes us lattes every morning)
>just walk around
I lose my mind sitting at my desk for more than an hour interrupted so I'll get up and walk to the bathroom on the complete other side of the building/go chat with people. My feet are my biggest culprit for getting cold because I wear Red Wing iron rangers at the office and they have 0 insulation. Heavy wool socks help but only so much.
>fuck it, desk blanket
If you are a grill or a gay. All of the zoomzoom girls in order management keep blankets at their desk to cover their lap/legs. I don't think I'd ever do it though.
Maybe you've got bad circulation? My feet feel like icecubes if I don't move them for a while.
Cold shower in the morning will have you toasty all day
Buy a foot heater and place it under your desk. The AC will regulate the temperature at 20C while your desk area stays warmer than the rest of the room. I do this at work. Sometimes I even open the window for fresh air and have my foot heater on at the same time.
stop eating pufa
stop ingesting fluoride including tea
stop eating pepper (antithyroid)
stop eating brassica plants
Start doing ice baths in the morning, or ease yourself into it with cold showers or even just cold walks with minimal clothing, all done early in the morning to not interfere with your sleep (and actually reinforce your circadian rhythm).
The more you expose yourself to cold the more brown fat your body will produce. Brown fat is highly metabolic so you'll actually get leaner, but it's also incredibly thermogenic so you'll have a much easier job staying warm using only your body. The key to stimulating brown fat production is cold frequency and intensity, but mostly frequency. Brown fat is incredibly plastic so it will disappear quickly if it is not needed. Whatever you do, however minimal, do it daily, then slowly increase the intensity of the cold exposure.
It's also incredibly important to note that for max brown fat adaptation and metabolic benefits you need to let your body shiver itself back to normal temperatures after cold exposure. Don't get out of a cold shower/bath and jump straight into warm fuzzy clothes, or sit by the radiator, or worst of all get in a hot shower or bath. Stand wide and open let your body shiver itself warm. Force it to learn how to heat itself up and this will trigger it to adapt and start producing brown fat and train the metabolism to become stronger and more efficient.
Stop drinking too much liquid.
Liquids make you cold because you pass out 37C water when you piss it out.
Get a space heater. They're like 20-30$ for a cheap one.
Seed oils will lower your body temperature by depressing metabolism.
>shivering adaptation
