Firstly You can't teach power, either you have it or you don't and secondly you can't be the next Mike Tyson by copying him because only Mike can be Mike
This. Power is mostly genetic. You can max it with training + plyometrics and oly lifts but theres greater variation from genetics than most other factors
>Power is mostly genetic
How is it genetic? You mean it's about one's morphology?
I mean obviously we all have a genetic potential just like in any sport but you still need to train your techniques and muscles to reach it.
As in the ability of your muscles to produce a lot of force really fast, basically what we think of as athleticism or explosiveness. Its mostly determined by your muscle fibre type ratio and some other factors.
College athletes are sorted this way in the US by testing standing vertical jump, iirc China uses it too to sort thousands of children to go into sports
I see. Is this ratio typically consistent across the body?
Also as someone who boxes I think there are a lot of other variables which are just as important at play here. Honestly I think 9/10 people are powerful enough to knock someone out after one or two months of boxing.
A six year old is powerful enough to knock out a grown man if it hits the chin right

Right? I feel like only people who have never boxed think it's about being able to punch hard. Having endurance, technique, good reflexes (guard, dodging, countering etc.) all seem like way more important than raw power to me.
I think it is but I could be wrong, never looked into if it could be different for upper/lower body or something.
And yeah I wasnt trying to say most people cant learn to box, just that its impossible for most people to be literally as good as Mike Tyson like the OP is asking

Agreed, just like any top athletes in any discipline you need to be some kind of genetic freak AND spend most of your life training to get to their level.

I never said you couldnt train it retard, just that it has a more individual limit unlike strength or endurance training. Most people can get to 1/2/3/4 or a 5 minute mile but not everyone will be able to clean 80% of their deadlift
More hours than exist in a week.

German Volume Training
wtf gvt is a meme
How do you get long lasting results and not thin up after a few months without lifting?
Steroids at 14
You can put countless hours in the gym and still never become a heavyweight champion of the world. That's just how it is.
48 hours
You'd have to dedicate all of your life to boxing and even then you can't be sure
the moment he started doing other things than training his skills declined and then he lost
4-6 hours of training daily is around where professional athletes train
You wont, mike tyson is the scariest manlet to ever live.
His neck genetics are top tier, same with speed and power.
He trained for 8-10 hours a day, mostly sparring and heavybag work
ITT: Idiots.
Mike Tyson wasn't very good, he said himself you shouldn't "believe the hype".
>He trained for 8-10 hours a day, mostly sparring and heavybag work
Haha. You're American, aren't you?
All
>best heavy weight boxer of all time
