But wouldn't that be crazy amounts of work to become proficient at one very specific muscle and scenario? Isn't it better to spend relatively less time to become more well-rounded in muscle strength?
It still kind of is. The delts are used in basically every movement. Maximizing my front and rear delts would make me way stronger on everything like a multiplier. Every guy I've ever met who has big OHP and rear delt raise numbers can also bench and row ridiculous weight but its not always the other way around. That's my thinking at least

But if delts are used in every movement, how big really is the need to focus on them? Wouldn't you naturally train them by lifting heavy on other exercises? But by all means, if you have time over in the gym, do some delt accessories.

You need to start by having her close to reduce the moment arm then push press her up first.
Way easier to isometrically resist the weight at the top, also you want a way more vertical path.

Just tried this with my sister who is ~60lb and I think this is pretty much impossible unless you're some kind of giant like brian shaw. Its hard to get a good grip because even her pencil neck is much thicker than a barbell and too squishy, you also can't squeeze very hard without causing pain. I thought I could maybe wedge my hand under her chin and sort of push up on her head while she tries to tuck her chin down and this sort of worked but it put too much pressure on her windpipe and I was no where near being able to lift her with a fully outsreched arm, I could only do it when I brought her much closer to my body basically doing a one hand ohp. We also tried it with her back agaisnt a wall and it wasn't any easier.
Progressive overload.
A healthy male should be able to start with 5x5 toddler chokes, adding 1 year to the age of your targets every week.

Don't forget to compound lift by throwing them into a wall afterwards.

This is correct but I'd rather work until I can do the 150 pound front raises and have delts the size of most peoples glutes

delts also help you with holding your hands up while fighting, grappling, holding a gun up etc. useful activities.
