I'm lucky enough to live near two parks and a nature route so I head out in the morning, put podcasts on and just start walking.
Usually hit around 20k steps a day.
If you're struggling, just pick a direction and keep walking until you hit 5000 steps then turn around and go home, pick a different direction each day until you find a good route.
Yep.
It's nice, especially if the weather is good. I use podcasts but other people listen to audiobooks.
Get yourself one of those cheap fitbit clones and it becomes a high score type thing.
Here's an idea.
Unplug.
No audiobooks, no smartphone, just a walk through nature for like an hour or so.
It's the perfect complement to lifting for any mental issues, as chliché as that sounds.
That's awesome, keep it up anon.
Sometimes when life serves a veritable shit sandwich, just walking can help. It doesn't solve life's problems, but I'll be damned if it isn't better than being stuck in bed ruminating about every single wrong thing.
Instead of waking up and going to your computer to do your shit just take a thermos (cause I assume your addicted to the bean garden gnome) and take ur dog and go walk around and do all your shit from your phone for an hour. If your relatively fit you can ward off any would be assailants.
There has been research on long periods of being sedentary. Even advanced athletes have higher instances of negative health outcomes when they have long periods of being sedentary
From my office to the sandwich place , then back , then to the gym , then back , then around the office I'm on 9 k or so and the rest I finish in the house.
Sometimes my work would req me to go get gear from the car like 5-6 times when I'm on site and that helps.
3000 steps right after waking up to get some sun for the day
3000 steps to walk my dog
3000 steps doing random shit walking around the office or a store or whatever
3000 steps after dinner to help digestion
if i dont get 12000 steps in a day something is seriously fucking wrong or it was raining hard all day
if you live in a walkable city like NYC, you can hit 15000 steps/day in a typical day, depending on your job and lifestyle. If you run, it is also easy to hit these numbers of steps
I walk at least 3km daily and I can barely make 6000 steps a day.
Walk to where?
To the gym and back, I have no car for the moment.
Nowhere, I just walk.

I have to walk miles to hit 10k steps a day. Manlets don't know how good they have it
I walked 30-40k everyday when I delivered mail
Now I walk an hour on the treadmill everyday
I have already made about 1000 steps when I finished my morning routine and get on my way to work.
