accept that you will collapse and vomit, and run away. sprint as fast as you can, your body will get rid of the refuse, recover, and do it all over again.

Drive your front foot into the ground like you’re digging the dirt and push it back like how a cheetah runs, USE THE WHOLE FOOT
added a few MPH to my speed.

Run slow to improve cardiovascular ability.
Run fast intervals to improve anaerobic ability.
    Run sprint to improve VO2Max.

Do stuff to improve doing stuff.

Balls of your feet. Work on form. I practiced 40yrd dash went from 7.5 to 4.8 seconds in about a month mainly from form adjustment.

I know this might be retarded but is there a trick to walking faster without running?
I'm fat so don't want to punish my joints and short so feel like my fastest might not ever be very fast.
Seems like 3.4mph is about my max. I can do a 5k in 54 minutes if I absolutely bust ass.

Yes, cross train with literally anything else if you're fat. The mere act of burning calories and elevating your heart rate will make you faster.

I've been doing stairs & a sort of stationary bike every other time.
Thanks for the input. I was beginning to feel like I wasn't going to see much improvement. I know I won't see major change overnight but got kind of demoralized looking at average speed/times.

Right now focus on total workout time without exhaustion/injury.

make sure during your stride when your foot is striking the ground that your chest is directly over your midfoot. lots of people who aren't used to walking tend to sit back a little bit and it's very hard on the knees.

more leg gainz, more technique. you'll hit diminishing returns at some point because of physics tho. try running in sand if you can. your toesies will get jacked and you'll have better take offs, pretty easy running hack to start with.
