this is not even cardio much less strength or hypertrophy training. you will never grow with this and if you only do pullups and dips you will have an unbalanced physique. i know because i did this for almost a year. then i got a gym membership and fixed my imbalances but the legs are still slightly lagging and even then i used to do 10-15 rep pistol squat sets. also your lower back will be weak without a heavy backsquat
neither pullups nor dips give any shoulder gains. i could do 15 pullups and 15 ring dips and when i tried my shoulder pressing it was in novice territory while both pullups and dips were upper intermediate
You have to remember that it's a poverty homegym and I'm just interested in exercise, not bodybuilding. If I reach the point where I'm doing loaded shrimp squats then that's as strong as my legs are ever going to get.
i know this pic and it's fucking stupid. just go to a gym. it's much more fun and you can do weighted calisthenics + barbell lifts. you're beating yourself up doing these retarded unnatural motions for subpar gains

What makes the exercises retarded and wastes of time? I mean, if you can do the hardest progressions of bodyweight exercises just because you have gym access, then I'll throw away my shit and trespass into the local gym. But I'm going to call your bluff and doubt your ability to do any of that shit. Post a webm of you doing one of the final progressions for reps and I'll believe you

i'm an intermediate lifter. you don't need to see me do shit. im not asking you to do your sissy squats either. im just telling you there's better ways to achieve strength and hypertrophy with less headache. if normies stay dyel from going to the gym then most of you that stay with calisthenics will surely not make it

Whoops, bluff failed. You couldn't even wash a window without your arms tiring out, we get it. And you didn't even answer why the exercises where "retarded" and "wastes of time"
The only reason you hate on calisthenics is because you admitted you were a brainlet. It "causes headache" for you to do a completely natural bodyweight movement, and you willingly kept at the most basic squat progression for, in your words, "almost a year."
You even INJURED yourself doing this shit????
it's not really OHP. and even then you can only progress by adding reps. i actually injured my shoulder doing pykes and headstand pushups. OHP feels much more natural and safe
Holy shit you numbfuck.

>Whoops, bluff failed. You couldn't even wash a window without your arms tiring out, we get it
my OHP is 80kg. i can do 2 pullups with 52.5kg. and a dip with 80kg. i already explained to you. you will never make it doing this retarded shit. legs are completely not worth it to train bodyweight. you will forever be a weak dyel. even the top calisthenics channels advise you people to use barbells for lower body at least
no i get this is a crab thread but seriously. you're a natural lifter and you will never make it doing these retarded exercises. it's completely a waste of your time. seriously either go to a gym, build a proper gym, or pick a different hobby

A handstand pushup is literally OHP with your body, the pike version scales based on the angle
Ever seen a ring gymnast or been to a calisthenics park? Those guys look pretty good lmao. I go to a normal gym too but its stupid to deny theres other ways of getting fit

anyone would be well beyond having “made it” if he’s pressing 170lbs for reps lmao

you're doing partial reps on handstand pushups. but if you weigh 170lb you'll have do more than just have the strength to push yourself because the balance component makes it much harder. i know you all like to cope here but it's a fact most of you will never achieve an unassisted handstand pushup. especially if you weigh over 60kg. forget about it

paralletes for full rom, gripping something makes it significantly easier. While I agree that its stupid to base your entire system on bodyweight its silly to deny that they work. I’ve even heard body building coaches say that up to 30 reps is still an effective rep range

yes that works and gripping does feel better than flat hand. anyway 99% of you will never be strong enough to utilize paralletes if you want to weigh more than the average woman
>bodyweight doesnt work because its too hard >bodyweight doesnt work because its too easy

it's easier on the shoulder and harder on whatever other stabilizing muscles there are. it's not that hard to get.

For legs he can do lunges and bulgarian split squats for legs. To add weight all he needs are 5 gallon water jugs or some diy sandbags. For shoulders, RTO dips and holds both hit them, but he can also just do HSPU progressions. Lateral raises are easy enough to incorporate as well because the weight is so low that he can use a book or a milk jug or something and still make it work.
I paid about £600 for my home gym mostly 15 years ago, and I have a bench, squat rack, about 220kg in plates, 2 barbells, ez curl, 2 dumbbells and a pullup bar. I think that's about as good as you can get for sub 1k. These days you pretty much have to go used on facebook marketplace or something since new prices are ridiculous.
You ever get worried about crushing your little buddy? Id workout out my friends home gym once in a while and his pup always wandered around. Felt like id drop weights and not realize just how close he was.
>have outside gym in SE US >doing squats >rack weight on half-rack >10 of these things come flying out >get attacked >now afraid of racking weights
I can deal w/mosquitos (never get those red, itchy bite bumps) but these fuckers are something else when you're moving heavy weight. Is my only option is pre-emptively using killshot every time before using the half-rack? Can't I take the plastic tops off the half rack off, let water flow down inside, and wet their nesting?
>Can't I take the plastic tops off the half rack off, let water flow down inside, and wet their nesting?
Yeah. Alternately, find a way to seal them in. Ideally, it would be all closed. I have had two different benches that lost caps and became havens for spiders.

I bought 25usd gymnastic rings and plan to use them in a playground near my home. it's the first time i've bought something to workout with. wish me luck anons. i will buy a pullup bar next(a few months from now)
only thing resistance bands are good for is training your neck or helping with muscleups. everything else i've tried feels like shit and it's life denying. just go to a gym or you will never make it
I only have a pair of adjustable dumbells where I'm currently. I maxed them out long time ago so now I'm using only one of them stuffed with all the plates, doing goblet squats and one-handed presses and rows.
$350 300lbs of plates and a oly barbell
$130 Rack with pull up bar
$50 Horse stall mat (not bought yet)
$30 Box fan because my garage is 97F and like 100% humidity
No bench yet, just floor presses for now.
I feel like if I had a home gym I wouldn't use it. Something about going to a gym, walking down the stairs into the grungy basement to work out puts me in the mood to work out.
pull-up bar
bunch of kettlebells
all you need
All on the right track, the pull-up bar is the most essential piece of poverty home-gym equipment.
>$500 home gym
>all that equipment and weights
bull-fucking-shit
this
It means $500 for each piece of equipment.
>No, it doesn't actually mean that, that was a joke.
And the best machine is $1300. If I had to buy only one piece of equipment it would be this.
Everything that can be done with that, I'd enjoy more by doing with dumbbells
The tension is better at an angle with cables. Dumbbells only have gravity. I can hardly get a pump from dumbbell flyes.
that bench/rack with the barbell and the plates on it alone is almost $500
Isn't just a barbell and plates almost $500 and a few hundred for a bench.
pullup bar
weight bench w 2x 45s, 2x 20s, 4x 5s
