Going to the gym on low sleep

Do you skip gym on days where you slept like shit?

Say you can only manage to sleep 3h the night before and feel dizzy even with a cup of coffee. Do you push through and follow your program, or think it better to prioritize recovery and skip training for the day

Skip. Especially if your lifting heavy enough that it's dangerous if you were to fail a rep unexpectedly. Can still do cardio though and maybe some stretches that always puts me in a sleepy state.

      This regarding hewvy weight.
Sleep may not immediately make you weaker, but heavy lifts require central nervous system focus, and without sleep you'll be at risk of losing control, dropping the weights and injuring self

Going to the gym solidifying the routine and teaching your soul and body that there are no excuses >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Not going to the gym

Muscles don't care about your feelings. Despite what anime teaches being hyped won't give you 200% strength and feeling tired or having the flu won't even make you 10% weaker.

Skip, at the very least 5 and feeling good.

        >Muscles don't care about your feelings
Right, so you have to sit it out and suffer thinking about your missed gains instead of pretending everything is fine and you can do it again the next time.

Muscles do care about the physiological effects of the lack of sleep, retard. Do you think sleep is just a matter of will? You're made of meat.

        Skip.

        You don't even lift

It's counterproductive with that little sleep imo. I would skip and get extra sleep.

If that ever happens to me I just take a midday nap- take preworkout and go later in the evening. My gym closes at 11 so its doable.

    Get some good sleep buddy

Being IN is more important than what you do. When i'm sleep deprived, i just run on the treadmill and blast my lungs. Puts me in survival mode for the rest of the day; then my sleep resets.

It depends on how I feel. If I slept poorly but I’m just sleepy and functional, I’ll go and do my normal workout but not push too hard. If I feel tired to the point of headaches/naseau then I’ll skip because the injury risk is too high and it worsens my symptoms. Either way, it’s important to look at how you ended up in this state and do your best to correct your sleep habits/environment so it doesn’t happen again. Sleep is very important.

If i slept bad once, then no, i still go.
If i have been up and slept little for over 3 days in a row, i definiyely skip.
There is no use damaging your hormone levels further, you need to rest.

depends on how often you operate on a severe sleep deficit. If its the norm for you, lift. If its not, probably rest.

Personally on days i sleep like shit ill skip most lifts but do as much cardio as my body will let me in the time i have to be at the gym. That way the day isnt a complete wash
