France debunks CICO

I was on vacation in Paris for some days and CICO is debunked easily by living in France.

tl;dr:
>Frenchies eat fuckhuge portions
>Nobody does any sports
>Everyone is TINY AS FUCK

I was surprised to see that being skinny, think 14 year old skinny, is the norm here. Chubby people are rare, fat people were usually tourists.

No big deal, right? Maybe they eat low calorie, maybe they do a lot of exercise? But neither of that is true. Their meals go like this:
>Breakfast: 1 whole baguette, butter, jam orange juice and coffee with milk, tea or hot cocoa
>Lunch: A 3 course meal. I was seen as an odd weirdo for only having the main course. They mostly eat potatoes and beef in various forms and the portions are not small.
>Dinner: The same as lunch, but many will only eat 2 courses (entree or dessert, not both)

I had some trouble finishing the main course on the first evening (it was some very rare done cheeseburger with fries and salad), it got a bit better the next few days. They usually don't eat snacks, but their sandwiches are gigantic. But they usually drink just water, and ofc wine/beer at the meals.

Now, for the exercise: Maybe they walk a lot, but they have very slim, elegant bodies with low bodyfat. They don't have the usual telltale signs of working out like internally rotated shoulders, hyperlordosis, big neck/forearms. They seem completely untrained, but lean.

I am of course quite puzzled. How do they do it? Can any French guy explain?

Any time someone 'breaks' CICO the real answer is quite simple - you're lying on the internet

CO part is influenced by energy intake, macros, insulin sensitivity and shit. energy used for gaining muscles should be seen as CO part. what CICOfags leave out is stuff like leptin making you more active and less hungry for day or few after overeating. hunger hormones also influence nutrient partitioning so eating 1000 calories of slop is worse than eating 1000 calories of good filling foods even if macros are same. worse for body composition too. you think athletes who got statuesque bodies 150 years ago were counting calories? ancient greeks were starving themselves? CICO works well mostly for "balanced" "low" fat diet that includes 20%+ calories of fat largely feom "healthy" "essential" pufas.

You're fucking stupid and yes they eat fewer calories.

CICO deniers are about the same IQ as perpetual motion machine believers.

The French are more athletic than they look, they don't lift though, usually cardio sports. Also they don't eat as much as you think especially at home, will often skip meals, so the big 3 course meal you saw at lucn might be accompanied by a croissant/coffee/cigarette at breakfast and a soup/small portion of pasta for dinner. And as you said no snacks.

As a tourist since you eat out all the time it's easy to think that this is how they eat daily, but people eat at home most of the time.

French here, I also spent a few months in Texas since I have family here.

You're wrong we est smaller amounts than an américan.

If youb went to restaurants a lot you're mistaken because its a time when we eat a lot. But at home many of us dont eat that much et sont always do the 3 course dish.

We dont eat between meals at all ans dont drink many calories.

Most of young people do a form of cardio m. Hiking walking running swiming or biking

I have NEVER seen someone jogging though, except one tourist in front of the Louvre. What is everyone doing for cardio?

Also, eating at home I can believe that, but you guys have work, too, so obvioulsy you're not eating at home all the time.

Amerifats talk about France and Italy often because they are obsessed with macros.

In their simplistic mind they need to to think in termes of good good / Bad food
They think carbs, gluten, olive oil are inherently bad si when french ans italian can stay thin rating these "Bad" fois they go insane.

General activity level, moderation, balances lifestyle, better quality products better hunger management are thé answers they dont want to hear

You kind of have to go to get it, but it really is a beautiful place. Especially coming from North America, the place is just fucking jam packed with history and culture. Everything feels really quaint and cozy too, the small streets and towns built before the time of automobiles. Its kind of hard to explain.

I would have never gone there probably if my dad didnt randomly get a job in Paris when I was a teen, but I fell in love with it. Very diverse place with rolling green country side in the north and arid/ sub tropical region in the south.

I havent even been to that many countries but I plan on going back.

Just walking around the streets all day, smoking some french cigs and sipping on coffee in park is fucking kino

I hear that part of the French Paradox is that their unsaturated fat consumption is way lower than ours, which keeps their metabolism from tanking and going into torpor (hibernation lite)
So it boosts CO, even though CI isn’t much different

They're not "good" for you. It's more like everything Amerilards eat is REALLY bad for you because it's not real food.
Cheese is a fucking Cheese flavored Seed Oil
Yogurt is bio-engineered oils, syrups and worthless milk (w/o fat)
Bread is a sugary oil loaf
Even fucking Whey Protein has sunflower oil!

What places did you visit? If you were in some upper middle class parts the people you will encounter will all be thin and healthy and you'll think it's some kind of secret when in fact they eat high quality food and do sports recreationally every day for an hour.
There's a French neo feminist cutie I watch on YouTube. She's tight af without "working out", but she's obviously affluent and her insta posts are about playing tennis and travelling to surf etc.

You think we're stupid or something? 180cm or 5 foot 9 is average in the Netherlands, and Germans are a good few centimeters shorter than that. Either you're a retard (as evidenced by your belief CICO can be debunked), deliberately deceptive or being terminally online has given you immense body dysmorphia.

what a load of shit lmao. Three course meals are so uncommon, usually something you have for special events or at restaurants. No one is cooking a three course meal twice a day, every single day. Also, American food is so full of garbage that even the exact same dish has twice the amount of calories. I was speechless when I found out a pizza in America has over 2k calories while a regular Margherita pizza in Italy has 700-800 calories, rarely goes over 1000 calories even with toppings

    1. France is not skinny, their average BMI is in the 26-28 range

They no drinky so much beer and no eaty poisoned supermarket "food". Dairy is healthy, fruits and fresh fruit juices are healthy, they get enough protein, pastries are good, not made from 5 year old supermaket flour that has all sorts of fungus and other toxic crap. In other words, they eat normally and they don't deliberately poison themselves. Sugar is not so bad in moderation. Butter is great, they mostly avoid unsaturated fats (which are not essential, they are essentially poison).

    hello, frenchanon here

    >Breakfast: 1 whole baguette, butter, jam orange juice and coffee with milk, tea or hot cocoa
nope, not the whole baguette, usually like quater leftover baguette from yesterday ( it's a chore to get up and go to the bakery, fresh bread and croissant are a weekend treat ) orange juice is not that common but you are right about the hot beverage
    >Lunch: A 3 course meal. I was seen as an odd weirdo for only having the main course. They mostly eat potatoes and beef in various forms and the portions are not small.
no one has time to 3 main course on lunch on weekday, you get the '' plat du jour et un café" at a small eatery or a jambon beurre sandwich at the nearby bakery, they also use a lot of frozen meal from Picard for lunch
    >Dinner: The same as lunch, but many will only eat 2 courses (entree or dessert, not both)
dessert is like a yaourt or a fruit, nothing extravagant, and getting just a soup and a piece of cheese is also a common diner
    > Maybe they walk a lot
that's the secret in paris, they walk a lot, they walk in the metro and the rer, they climb stairs up and down the stations, they stand for hours waiting for the bus
also, they are ''that'' skinny'' they are usually skinny fat, overweight people are more and more common but hamplanet are super rare

if you have more question i'm all ears honey

i think there's a few factors to take into account when comparing american and european dietary habits.
i can't speak as much about French, but i know Italian portions generally are smaller. i highly doubt they have regularly huge meals. maybe on the weekends, but i suspect the meals are generally smaller.
i know they walk around a lot, which makes a bit difference over time if you're regularly getting over 10k steps daily.
another thing i'd suspect is that the foods they eat is fully unprocessed.
the last thing i'd suspect is that they live a more carefree and less work intensive lifestyle. this most likely leads to lower levels of stress and cortisol

i guess it goes in line with what wrote.

that's a great point, people usually work from 9am to 6pm with a hour lunchbreak, they get 5 weeks paid holiday, 11bank holiday a year, and getting sick wont ever get you into debt,
don't get me wrong, people are still stressed as fuck by everthing that affect the world just like anyone else, but we tend to be a little more chill about it, you know ? world might be burning but i can still enjoy an apéro en terrasse putain
