Does high test cause acne or is it a big meme? Started at college and the gym here is full of women way more attractive than I'm used to working out around and my acne is worse than it has ever been. 27yo former NEET

Not necessarily. Acne has multiple causes, but often times it is because your sebaceous glands overproduce, clog pores or hair follicles and inflames the skin. Dihidryotestosterone is an androgen that causes more hormonal acne which increases as testosterone increases, but some people genetically produce a smaller percentage of DHT so even if he got on gear the hormonal acne still can only become mild. If you convert 5% of your testosterone into DHT then go on gear, but some other guy converts 20% and goes on gear then your acne and hair loss will be much lower than the twenty percenter.
DHT does not cause acne.
it's a sign of low t - just like balding
I have had terrible skin most of my adult life, including acne. I am not going to pretend I have it 100% figured out but I have noticed some patterns that might help you. The times when my skin is perfect there are a few common factors:
- Sunlight daily
- Clean pillowcases nightly
- No seed oils or processed carbs
- Wash face with honey 2x daily
- Cold water
- No skincare products or scents or anything that could irritate the skin
>Clean pillowcases nightly
Just flip over the pillow to get two nights out of the pillowcase.
buy a silver threaded pillowcase. silver is antimicrobial, it's made all the difference for me.
also, vitamin D, hydration, daily morning + night cleansing, and not eating like shit.
>silver pillowcase
This might be an amazing protip. Thanks for sharing. Gonna try it.
I know it sounds like a meme, but I love my silvon pillowcase. It also helped my sleep because I'm not subconsciously worrying about breaking out from mashing my face into it (it's the only way I can sleep soundly).
have you tried bathing, greasey, nagger?
Insulin resistance. Only way to get rid of it is adopting a low carb diet.
t. Had hellish cystic acne for years.
I think it's the imbalance of hormones rather than just test or estrogen itself. When I started building muscle my face broke out terribly. Here's what helped
>Switch whey protein for pea protein
>Cut out all sugar
>Salicylic acid face wash
>Benzoyl peroxide
>Exfoliate twice a week
>Retinol gel on pimples
>a quality moisturizer
>Doxycycline 5mg a day
>>Cut out all sugar
Does this mean only added sugars? Or also refined carbs?
>Certain meats, like beef and chicken, contain an amino acid called leucine. Leucine turns on the chain reaction that stimulates the skin's oil glands and makes acne breakouts more likely.
Anyway just quit eating meat and your acne will disappear completely.
Fuck off vegan liar.
>vegan
Not eating meat isn't vegan. You seem to be very confused.
Don't eat meat for a week and you'll see that your acne is gone.
What about fish? I seem to break out from pork.
Shawn Baker eats an all-meat diet and he doesn't have acne. I've had plenty of times without acne and yet never eliminated meat from my diet.
Food that causes bad skin? Plants. I get terrible skin problems from nuts, seeds, and grains. Guaranteed.
Youre a liar using lies to promote your plant-based agena.
>Food that causes bad skin? Plants. I get terrible skin problems from nuts, seeds, and grains. Guaranteed.
For me it's also fruit and honey.
Acne is usually some combination of genetics, diet, hygiene, and a hormone imbalance. Not really caused by high testosterone. The area of the body it occurs on can also be an indicator. I had mindor chest and back acne for years (but never anything on my face). Was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and as soon as I started taking Levothyroxine my acne disappeared within a week. Still have breakouts, but they are much smaller than before
...you think you have acne because of attractive women at your gym?
>don't eat like complete shit
>wash your face every day with something like cerave
>use moisturizer
>wash your pillowcase once a week
if you do this and it isn't working, use benzoil peroxide or differin. as a last resort, use a mild dose of accutane.
if you have acne that is causing scarring at any age, it's not because of hormones associated with puberty or not washing your face enough. puberty may be the start of the problem, but it's not the main cause. 99% of the time it is something that you are allergic to in your diet. i went from having bad cystic acne to completely clear skin by cutting out cheese (90% of the problem) and gluten. cheese/dairy is a major factor in a lot of these problems. even though it's difficult, cut these 2 things out of your diet for 2 weeks and see what happens.
