CICO is real, but there's a catch: the amount of calories need in a day variea significantly among the population.
Some people can do 2 weeks without eating and lose nothing. And why is that? Because they're not spending amy energy.
There's this common misconception that the human body spends around 2000 calories/day just to exist, but this couldn't be further from the truth, otherwise we wouldn't have so many people fasting and not losing weigth.
I probably spend around 150 calories/day just to exist, and that's why I see no changes in the scale even after days of fasting.
this has to be a bait
not bait at all.
the 2000 calories/day is obviously wrong, that's why you see so many fat people around.
I'm a human
It doesn't take forever to lose weight, just as it doesn't take forever to gain weight.
>the 2000 calories/day is obviously wrong, that's why you see so many fat people around.
Most people eat way more than 2,000. They have no clue how many they eat
The average caloric intake in america is between 3k and 4k. Humans burn so many calories just living. 1 kcal (1 nutritiom facts calorie) is a measure of energy. The energy required to raise one kilo of water up one degree celcius. The human body is on average 80 kilos for men. 70% water makes 56kg of just water. Ambient temp is 20C and body temp is 37C. That is a differential of 17C. Obv its much more complicated than this but basically just for heat and not any chemical reactions or brain optimization 2000 calories is really reasonable.
>the 2000 calories/day is obviously wrong
Idk how much of that 2000 cal per day is used for the brain, but OP is making his point..
>It doesn't take forever to lose weight, just as it doesn't take forever to gain weight.
I lost 60lbs last year and yeah it takes a fucking long time even though I was eating 1000-1500 calories and exercising, 2-7 days does not make a dent, by that time you could have a shift in waterweight that negates what the scale says.
I lost 70lbs last year and I lost the majority of it in 2 months by multiday fasting. It's easy. Just put down the fork. Also you aren't counting your calories right obviously.
are you a squirrel?
>There's this common misconception that the human body spends around 2000 calories/day just to exist, but this couldn't be further from the truth, otherwise we wouldn't have so many people fasting and not losing weigth.
that's not a thing, and if someone fasted for 2 days and didn't lose weight it's water weight. it takes for fucking forever to lose weight, months and months, not a fucking fucking week.
When people say "water weight" they mean the water bound to their glycogen, right?
They mean the shit that gets burnt off first before your body switches to fat
>fasting and not losing weigth.
Nice b8 I made it this far before I figured it out. Gg
not bait.
Just google it.
That's what happened to me as well.
Fasting without exercising? No weightoss at all.
Fasting + cycling? Weight loss achieved.
I feel like my body won't let go of the fat unless I exercise, otherwise it will keep hogging it.
too much insulin
What the fuck do you mean? Are you consuming a ton of arrificial sweeteners?
How does insulin affects CICO?
Are you saying insulin makes people not required to eat?
>anon thinks that his body uses less than a third of a chocolate bar's energy per day
>somehow he's the only one like this
This is a really funny bait op, I'll give you that.
>This is a really funny bait op, I'll give you that
This is not bait at all.
I used to be lean before covid (less than 150lbs at 6ft)
after covid I reached 200lbs because now I had time to eat. Before that I only drank coffee during the week, and I only managed to keep my weight the same, because I didn't exercise.
I lost a little bit, was as low as 160, but only after I started exercising. Otherwise my weigth remained the same even while fasting.
My parent's didn't believe in me but after I spent 7 days locked in a room at their beach house with only access to water they realizes I wasn't lying or eating without noticing: the scale didn't move.
Now they want me to see a doctor but I don't see how it could help: it seems lile there's something completely fucked up about my body, something current medicine can't deal with.
>something current medicine can't deal with
no they have pills for schizos now
Congrats, you can eat nothing for the rest of your life and maintain your current weight as long as you avoid the exercise bike. You'll save a ton of money never needing food again.
Don't hit the bait with logic.
No matter how many times the study showing that metabolism difference (not accounting for muscle mass and exercise level) between people is at the most extreme 100 calories difference, people just will keep on saying they have a slow or fast metabolism.
even wikipedia explains it
>"Most cases of obesity are not related to slower resting metabolism. Resting metabolic rate does not vary much between people. Overweight people tend to underestimate the amount of food they eat, and underweight people tend to overestimate. In fact, overweight people tend to have faster metabolic rates due to the increased energy required by the larger body."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_common_misconceptions#Nutrition,_food,_and_drink
>no it's muh undiagnosed thyroid condition
>no it's muh genetics ignore that my brother is thin and my daughter is thin and I'm the only fat one in the family
total variability is about +/- 15% bmr for 99% of the population at the same age, your metabolism also slows as you age , up to 30%, so if you compared the a fast metabolism young person to a old slow metabolism person, the difference can be more than 25% easily.
I think I'd like to attack you in public.
>total variability is about +/- 15% bmr for 99% of the population at the same age,
If that's 3 standard deviations then the variability is +/- 5% for 84% of people, assuming a normal distribution.
How about you cite the actual fucking statistics instead of making up your own metrics?
It's not really anything to do with metabolism. What makes a difference between people is called NEAT which is basically how many calories you burn daily doing shit that you don't call "exercise" and this can be extremely variable between people. It's also responsive to changing dietary habits, so if you have a calorie deficit your brain will look for ways to avoid wasting energy, so your total base calorie consumption will go down. This is why a lot of people find they can't lose much weight from simply reducing their calorie intake only slightly.
>CICO is real
Call it the Atkins System, idiot. And if it's real, how come we cannot cure obesity anymore since it was introduced?
>how come we cannot cure obesity
Because obesity is caused by eating too much and not exercising enough, the only cure is diet and exercise which most americans are unwilling to do.
Ahhh cico, the sure fire sign to spot a normie
CICO isn't real then?
>Some people can do 2 weeks without eating and lose nothing
No. Even tiny old women need like 1500kcal/day to survive so they'd losexa hard minimum of ~2.5kg.
