If you can progressively overload, yes. I started out with dumbbells at planet fitness, worked my way all the way up to the 75 lbs ones. Got bigger and stronger. Now im at a college gym lifting more serious weight.

you would need access to a range of dumbbells in 10lb increments going from 10 to 80lb I think. You could get pretty ripped doing that, but I think it would be cheaper just to get a gym membership at that point
