budget protein eating :(

Considering I only have $150 left for food this month to cover 25 days, I'm determined to find a way to meet my daily protein requirements while keeping my food expenses to a minimum. I'll carefully plan my meals and make every dollar count. Just watch me, I'll crunch numbers with my budget in one hand and shop wisely with the other. I'll get that discounted walmart chicken, and EAT IT!

Get the Walmart app and start a spreadsheet. You need to optimize everything by protein per calorie, and then that per dollar. Generic Walmart chicken breast will be the best protein source though, inclusive of price.

Chicken thighs. You can but then for like $1.50/lb so you could buy 100 lbs of it, they're tasty, easier to cook than chicken breast, no downsides really.

The downside is far higher calories per gram of protein due to the high fat content

overcooking it drains the fat, could bake or deep fry till it's dry. for ground meat, boil it

Not a downside, those are healthy animal fats, and you can just have less rice or whatever else you were gonna eat. If you need protein you also need calories for your workouts.

You know what you're right, OP should spend only $75-$100 on chicken thighs and spend the rest on massive bulk cases of eggs. Between the two, that's tons of cheap protein that covers all bases.

    frozen chicken breast
basmati rice (wash thrice, salt, 1:1 rice/water, bring to boil then simmer and cover)
    basic bbq sauce

    oats+milk

do not buy veg, you'll get enough fibre from the oats
