As a morbidly obese man(6' 330lbs) would boxing or MMA be better for me?

I'm planning on getting down to like 290lbs before I start, but I don't know which one to do, the MMA place is closer to me but apparently the coach there is an asshole who's especially mean to fatsos and I'm not paying some guy to mock me to my face. I kinda want to do boxing and judo first but if I'm doing both those I might as well just do MMA. Opinions?

stop drinking calories, walk 30 min per day, eat less food

I'm eating 2500kcal a day and I only drink water and zero cal stuff. I'm also doing a 3 day a week full body workout. I really want to learn some kind of effective martial art because I just want to and it would be a fun way to exercise.

Them do boxing, judo, or muay thai would be best for self defense since you want something effect.
You can cross out muay thai since you're too out of shape. Judo is king for self defense, especially if you're heavy set; boxing seems more fun though.

I think I'll start with boxing, I did Judo as a kid and I don't remember it being very cardio intensive. What's the risk to my knees boxing at 330lbs? Also do I have to take the shirt off? I don't want my titties flopping around the place.

Boxing because MMA requires you to get up from the ground regularly (which you can't do) and you will be expected to kick (which you can't do)
Boxing will let you get to the "enjoyment" stage much quicker because you will be able to throw passable punches much sooner
Your knees are at risk naturally because you are heavier than human knees were adapted to withstand
But in general grappling is more dangerous for joints than striking because grappling involves limbs getting your + partner's weight put on them in unpredictable directions which is what causes ligament tears in knees etc.
Go to the gym as soon as possible and see if the coach will take you for a session, get started and get losing the weight asap
Losing the weight will literally save years of your life, you have that power

I'll have to look at boxing gyms nearby but I am lifting and dieting and doing cardio already. I assumed grappling would have more risk of joint damage yeah.
One more question, what is considered passable eyesight for boxing, I wear glasses and I know you can't even use contact lenses for boxing cause they could break on your eye or slip behind it, my vision is somewhere between 20/80 and 20/150 without glasses, is it doable?

bro I feel your enthusiasm so it's hard for me to say this but: martial arts are waay beyond your abilities right now. You have to lose at least 130lbs (if not more) before doing any serious martial arts training (serious being: the sort that will enable you to defend yourself)

Your bones, tendons, and ligaments are simply too weak for the stresses that the mass of your body will put them under during martial arts training. The probability of a crippling injury is pretty high 🙁

Be patient my bro. You don't want to injure yourself and spend next 3 years in recovery (it happend to me) It will take you a long time to get to a normal weight. My suggestion for you is to get on a 500kcal deficit and keep that diet going for a year. Limit your excercise to light impact cardio - walking, cycling, and swimming. Keep it light. You will lose about 50lbs this way and then you could start lifting. Lift for a year while still being in a 500kcal deficit, and you will lose another 50lbs. Then start doing aggressive cardio like HIIT, sprints, long distance work etc. to build up your endurance while you still lift for maintainance. After a year of that you should be another 50lbs lighter, and your bones and connective tissues will be strong enough for martial arts.

Yeah 3 years bro. It sucks. It's going to be a fight of your life, because it literally is a fight FOR your life. Godspeed.

I'm already lifting though and I feel fine. I'm on a 1000kcal deficit rn and it seems pretty manageable. Idk I'm a pretty broad framed guy even aside from being fat, I don't see how I would hurt myself that badly doing boxing. I could probably lose a bit of weight before I go but I feel like 6' 280lbs is probably fine to start boxing, I'm fat but I'm not like crippled or anything.

            >this means that i am capable to do a contact and impact sport immediately

mate people aren't trying to shit on you for fun, this is a dangerous proposition and you should focus on getting your body used to moving through space (with walking eventually transitioning to jogging, plus lifting) to prepare yourself for that

You spent years putting on the weight, you can take some time getting it off

WALK. You should be walking a minimum of thirty minutes per day. You need cardio for weight loss and also your goddamn heart. It is the easiest and most accessible exercise you cannot fail at as long as you keep a good pace. Get your ass out doors, in the sun, walking

The real question is whether soul stones are considered natty.
In any case I would honestly recommend using walking to drop at least 50lbs (preferably 80) before doing any martial art. The reason being that you are going to put immense strain on your knees trying to move 330lbs around with footwork. Grappling is totally out of the question. Imagine fighting a takedown and landing all 330lbs on one leg, you could easily snap your shit up.

That makes sense, once I get down to 280lbs I'm taking up boxing, as far as I know they don't get you started on sparring immediately anyways so it should be fine.
Also souls stones are 100% not natty, but you can learn skills with scrolls so technically all skills should be achievable natty.
          Are marriages natty though?

That is a concern, plus I would probably be a 100lbs heavier then everyone else since MMA guys tend to be lighter I'm pretty sure.

You are 330lbs, you absolutely are a butterbean

walking up some stairs and walking your dogs, and playing DDR (lmao) is maybe a 0/10 on the activity scale, where you would want to be operating at a 6-7/10 before getting into MMA or boxing

you can't even walk up a set of stairs without wheezing, why do you think you can do MMA or box? stop eating like a pig, walk every day, then when you drop 80 pounds because you prob can't commit or take it seriously, then think about the other stuff. I bet you can't even have a regular healthy lifestyle for a week you fat fuck.

Boxing is one of the only martial arts that fatasses can actually do and be really really good at. You just have to learn how to fight while conserving the most energy possible, which really isn't hard to do. Do that plus learn how to punch as hard as possible and using your weight to lay into your punches without relying on your muscles to produce the majority of the force. Use momentum to throw. If you learn how to conserve energy effectively and can throw with momentum, being a fatass is no longer a limiting factor. You can even dodge as a fatass if you learn the conservation of energy and fatass way of moving. A fatass could theoretically fight for hours on end if they focus mostly on conserving energy and their weight would be a huge advantage because they can still hit hard by simply producing a lot of momentum for very little effort.

To accomplish this you only need about 6 months of fight training and about 2 months (as a minimum, but preferably more) of weight training to become properly conditioned.

I was a fat fuck when I first got into boxing and learned the way. The skills transfer when you lose the weight, but punches aren't as hard.

I can just lose weight the normal way anyways.
