The primary benefit of IF/OMAD isn't some mystical esoteric science, it's really just portion control; even the fattest cunt in the universe can only eat so much in a given timeframe, and the idea is that there's no way in hell you eat above your TDEE in that window, so as long as you can stick to that window, you'll lose weight.
