tbh I thought everyone here already knew that spot reduction was somewhat true but it's simpler to say it isn't

Not subcutaneous abdominal fat, visceral fat. It's abolutely possible to "target" visceral fat by improving metabolic health.

if you werent actively destroying yourself and your gut fauna with sneedoils and gmo corn you wouldn't have the fat in the first place

I can't tell whether this study says that abdominal fat is reduced proportional to other body parts or not.

Bump. No shit, working out burns calories retard.

LISS makes you lose fat all over, resulting in an emaciated, sickly look. HIIT makes you lose fat from the places you want to lose fat from.

    > Subjects in both exercise and control groups were advised to maintain their normal eating habits during the study

HIIT is irrelevant, all this study shows is that if you are fucking obese (29bmi) and do exercise you will have a larger caloric deficit than if you do not exercise, all else equal

Maybe I should be a scientist because this study is fucking retarded

You're welcome to make assumptions based on beforeafter

What? I’m not even a goddamn scientist and even I know they should have tracked the calories burnt and eaten, and netted them out the same. Otherwise they’re just proving CICO, the method of reaching the deficit was irrelevant and not even controlled for

Probably, unless youre jacked. But you already know that dont you?

HIIT is a great objective measure of exercise intensity, since they are measuring heart rate. If you are at 80-90% of your max heart rate, you are doing very strenuous activity. You can't cheat that like you can with weights. Perceived exertion doesn't matter when you have objective physiological measurements.

If there was a way to accurately and easily measure muscle fatigue on the spot, then that would be a good argument.

I don't read or believe in studies but it makes sense. Intense short term exercise increases test, which leans your fat distribution into a more masculine profile, leading to less fat in your stomach area.

Where do men gain fat if not the stomach?

He doesn't know what he's talking about. It has nothing to do with test. You store visceral fat when you're insulin resistant. I'm guessing it's because HIIT increases mitochondria in muscle cells, which makes you more metabolically efficient and insulin sensitive.

They moved more while not eating more.

But sure, your over complicated interpretation is better

"without calorie restriction" yeah no shit when i cut i just do a shitton of cardio and dont cut back my food consumption, this has nothing to do with hiit, its just burning more calories than you eat by cardio instead of calorie restriction.

Can anyone tell me why what normal cardio has over HIIT? I lost 10kg and I'm fitter than I've ever been doing 10 minutes of HIIT every 4 days next to my regular lifting schedule.
Does cardio have anything over it aside from taking 10 times as long to achieve the same results?

      >normal cardio
I do it so I can run shirtless outside and make grills look at my body
      >hitt vs liss vs weights
we are built to be nomads traveling a lot, pick up rocks, and sprint. there is no competition. If you are a lazy fatass just do the high intensity stuff, yes.

Yeah, that's what I thought. HIIT is superior in every way.

LISS and steady state cardio are associated with longevity.

HIIT training is good for acute weight loss and health benefits, but LISS is much better over the long term. The current research suggests you should do something to maximal heartrate maybe once a week with the rest of the week being more steady state / lifting.

        here

I do it on a stationary bike. 30s of very high resistance and 1min rest. Repeat of 3-7 (?) times.
        Works very well for me.

you can do circuits of bodyweight shit like bodyweight squats and push ups, like 10 of each and cycle them until you can't anymore then rest about 30 seconds and do it again.

I used to do bear crawls and mountain climbers. I find it kind of hard to do HIIT on a bike because it's non weightbearing and only works the legs.
