Simply because we cant realistically just start today and train flawlessly for the next 3-5 years to absolute perfection never missing a single gram of protein, a workout session etc. During the next 5 years you will most likely take many breaks, completely quit lifting, get back into it, train like a retard, not train like a retard etc.
